VMware vSphere 4.1 and its su se!uent update and patch releases are the last releases to include oth "S# and "S#i hypervisor architectures. $uture ma%or releases o& VMware vSphere will include only the VMware "S#i architecture.

VMware recommends that customers start transitioning to the "S#i architecture when
deploying VMware vSphere 4.1.
