Girls Only Riding Adventures


What to Pack:
An old pair of jeans, jodhpurs or tracksuit pants, 2 polo-shirts (to protect your neck and shoulders from the sun), 2 warm jumpers and a very warm wind-proof jacket; Riding boots (or school shoes anything with a smooth sole and a slight heel); 2 warm pairs of socks and underwear. Mittens & beanie also recommended! Tooth-brush and tooth-paste; Sun hat, sun-screen, beanie and a riding helmet (if you have one); Warm pyjamas (and slippers too).

If youre bringing your own horse, you will need:

Saddle Camp Program

Day 1
9.00 9.30 10.00 10.30 11.00 Arrive, settle in, collect your receipt and hand in your insurance form. Pick a pony. Learn how to groom a horse. Learn how to tack up. Morning tea. Learn how to ride a horse line of balance, how to walk on, halt, sit trot, rise trot and canter. Or progress your skills if you have already learnt the basics. 12.15 12.30 1.00 Learn the points of a horse. Lunch. Mounted games a chance to put all your new skills into action - Ball & Racket Race, Diamond Flag Race, Barrel Race, American Bending Race, Ben Bar Aft, Bounce Pony and Candy Steady. 3.00 pm Afternoon tea and Party Games on horseback. Grandmothers Footsteps, Walk & Trot Race, Musical Chairs, Grooming Kit Race, Lifesaver Race, Potato Race, Ribbon Race and Apple Bobbing. 5.00 pm 6.00 pm 8.30 pm 9.30 pm Harness up Cupid and learn how to drive a horse & sulky. Dinner. Spotlighting Tour. Supper & bed.

Saddle Camp Program

Day 2
7.30 8.00 9.00 11.00 12.30 1.00 1.30 2.00 2.30 3.30 4.00 Breakfast. Catch horses, feed and saddle up. Picnic Trail Ride. Learn how to plait manes, braid tails and prepare your horse for a show. Lunch. Learn how to present your horse in a leading class. Learn how to best compete in a riding class. Learn and ride a Dressage Test. Show Jumping lesson and competition! Ride a Cross Country jumping course Ribbons, Certificates and Trophy will be presented. The trophy will be awarded to the Best Horse Person over the weekend - displaying consideration for their horse, kindness towards other riders and enthusiasm for learning more about horses.
N.B. The Saddle Camp Girls Only Riding Adventure has been designed

for beginners. There is absolutely no prior experience necessary! There is an absolute maximum of 4 riders at the Camp, the horses are experienced and enjoy their work, and the Instructor is an accredited AHRC (Australian Horse Riding Centres) Certificate III Horse Riding Instructor, with 13 years teaching experience in her own riding school (and 2 years in others). Our cook, Robert Faulkner, is a trained baker from Braidwood Bakery and Dojo Bread.
