Up till now many books are written on Islamic civilization and Islamic tradition few of them are great display of comprehensive research work and also fulfill the cause and purpose from every aspect, one of them is The venture of Islam which is written b y Hodgson. We could get idea of comprehensiveness of this book there is not only briefly discussed everlasting role of Islam in the history of the world but it forces also the readers to study the Islam having broader mind. Uniqueness of this research is that the author did not put it by focusing pre-existing results and conclusions rather he applied the impartiality and academic ethics. We have seen very few scripts come from the west that is consisted of broadness, moderation unbiased and un-prejudice and The venture of Islam is one of them. The Author has done his research avoiding from general trends of Orientalists completely and tried his best to reveal all the aspects. Some of the important features which are discussed in the first 100 pages are as follows: Phonology Under this heading author has clearly describe the characteristics of pronunciations of different words in respect of English, Arabic, Persian, Turkish and Urdu etc. In addition, on making sense of Islamic ate words, names, dates, terminologies and transliteration Calendar Under this heading the author skillfully present a comparison between the Gregorian and Islamic calendars and almost proves or prefers the Islamic calendar as compare to Gregorian calendar Historical methodology of study of civilizations The author applies the methodology in different modes which are as under: On scholarly pre-commitments On defining civilization On the history of Islamic studies On determinacy in traditions Now this time to explain above modes briefly so that a reader could be able to understand easily through which methodology an individual can study Islamic civilization and conclude the results. On the history of Islamic studies: History of Islamic studies is very vast from east to west, from Asia to Europe, Middle East Africa and the Whole Arab World. Great Islamic run in Egypt, Syria, Persia, Cairo and Istanbul.
