This e'ening, man+ people gathered for a meeting !ith Dadaji, most for the first time$ , !oman present had re#entl+ had a lo'ed one pass on$ She !as grie'ing so mu#h that it !as effe#ting man+ of those present$ Dadaji then started to spea- of life, death, rein#arnation and destin+$ While the grie'ing !oman so%%ed, Dadaji smiled and e'en laughed, as-ing, "Who has died "s it possi%le to die 5et us tr+ to understand$ The )ita sa+s> *Certain is death for the %orn, and #ertain is %irth for the dead, therefore o'er the ine'ita%le thou should not grie'e$* 6ou are grie'ing not for +our lo'ed one, %ut for +our personal loss$ 6ou are thin-ing onl+ of +ourself$ "f +ou !ere thin-ing of the lo'ed one, +ou !ould %e sending thoughts of lo'e and good #heer$ The departed one, !hose %od+ is off, is still !ith +ou in spirit, and the+ are telling +ou to stop #r+ing and go on li'ing$ The !ise grie'e neither for the dead, nor for the li'ing$ The main questions people as- is, *Do the dead #ontinue to e0ist What happens after death of the %od+

The suffering and grie'ing #ome from the separation e0perien#ed %+ those left %ehind$ E'en though the+ are assured that the lo'ed one is fine$ The+ mentall+ feel the pain of loss$ This is a normal #ondition of the mind$ Those !ho are !ise and see !ith a total e+e, are #ompletel+ free from grief$ "f the mind #ould #omprehend the #ontinuit+ of the mind and spirit, and the dis#ontinuit+ of the %od+, +ou !ould #omprehend the meaning of life itself$ "E'en though +ou %elie'e in rein#arnation, still it does not #ompletel+ satisf+ the emotions$ 6ou should spend some period of time adjusting +our life to the fa#t that the person*s %od+ !ill no longer %e seen$ Ta-e )od*s Name, and +ou !ill %e #onsoled$ )od is !ith +ou %efore the %irth of this %od+, during it*s life, and after it*s death$ Nor ", nor thou, nor an+one of these, E'er !as not, nor e'er !ill not %e, 4or e'er and for e'er after!ards$ Na+, %ut as !hen one la+eth 7is !orn out ro%es a!a+, ,nd ta-ing ne! ones sa+eth, These !ill " !ear toda+< So putteth %+ the Spirit 5ightl+ it*s gar% of flesh, ,nd passeth to inherit , residen#e afresh$ "On#e )od stops #hanting !ithin the %od+, )od goes off, #at#hes the mind or destin+ stored up and together the+ enter a ne! %irth, a ne! %od+ to start again$

There is no point in arguing a%out Truth, )od, rein#arnation$ This is for fools$ 6ou sa+ )od is good, and a flood has just #ome and ta-en the li'es of thousands$ 6ou then reason, !ell, it s!ept a!a+ the un#leanness and restored the earth$ The question #omes, #ould )od not ha'e done this !ithout ta-ing the li'es of inno#ent men, !omen, and #hildren$ Then !e ought to %elie'e )od is #ruel and unjust$ Confusion results "4irstl+, +ou should sa+, *Oh, )od, " am too fee%le to understand Th+ nature and Th+ deeds$ Enlighten me if +ou see fit and if not " !ill tr+ to understand and a##ept m+ ignoran#e$*" There is a stor+ a%out a Saint !ho !as 'isited %+ an ,ngel out doing some #hores for )od$ The Saint requested permission to #ome along on the ,ngel*s rounds$ The ,ngel refused, sa+ing that e'en one so saintl+ #ould not understand the m+ster+ of ho! )od !or-s in Truth$ The Saint 'o!ed silen#e if permitted to #ome a long$ So the+ set out together$ Coming to a large ri'er, a %oatman seeing the+ !ere hol+ men #arried them do!n the ri'er free of #harge$ "n the midst of the journe+, the ,ngel started tearing plan-s from the side of the %oat, thro!ing them into the ri'er$ The Saint tried to stop him sa+ing that the ,ngel !as %eing #ruel to the %oatman !ho sho!ed them -indness$ The ,ngel said, "6ou ha'e %ro-en +our 'o! of silen#e and !ill ha'e to depart$" The Saint %egged one more #han#e and it !as gi'en$ Coming to their destination,

the ,ngel sle! an ele'en +ear old %o+, !ho !as pla+ing on the shore$ The Saint %e#ame 'er+ distur%ed and spo-e again$ The ,ngel granted him one last #han#e to a##ompan+ him, silentl+$ When the+ #ame to a 'illage and tried to %eg some food, the+ !ere stoned, #ursed and dri'en from the 'illage$ ,n old %ro-en do!n stone !all had on#e prote#ted the 'illage$ The ,ngel told the Saint that the+ !ould spend three da+s #arr+ing stones and repairing the !all, ,t this point, the Saint spo-e up again, and requested he %e permitted to lea'e$ The ,ngel then told him the reason for ea#h a#tion$ ", pirate !as on the ri'er, stealing all ne! and fit %oats$ " sa'ed the %oatman his %oat %+ altering it a little to ma-e it loo- unfit$ The %o+*s parents !ere 'er+ )od #ons#ious people and the %o+ !as fated to a life of #rime and destru#tion$ So, " sa'ed the parents man+ +ears of grief$ Buried under the !all !as an inheritan#e, left to his #hildren %+ a 'er+ pious man of the 'illage$ With the !all in disrepair, the un-ind 'illagers !ould soon ha'e dis#o'ered and stolen it$" The Saint #on#eded that it !as ne'er possi%le for a human %eing to understand the !or-ings of )od$ Bliss onl+ #omes !hen there is no dou%t at all, %ut dualit+ al!a+s e0ists$ 6ou #annot do a!a+ !ith it$ But soon, !hen +ou are remem%ering )od, it does not matter$
Toda+ the mind has %e#ome the ne! golden #alf So man+ are tea#hing ho! to #ontrol the mind, to meditate$ So man+ are !orshiping the mind rather than the Spirit$ ,s " ha'e said man+

times, it is important to #are for the mind and %od+, %ut understand their natures$ The nature of the mind is restless, no matter ho! +ou meditate, the result +ou get is ne'er permanent$ The %od+ itself is not permanent, an+ si#-ness or an+ healing is also of a temporar+ nature$
Some sa+ that all their hopes and aspirations in life ha'e ended$ Dadaji sa+s that this thought also is not in a person*s hands$ There is a stor+ in "ndia of the %lind Bharat /uni, !ho ha'ing done all sorts of penan#es, read+ to lea'e the %od+, had to undergo in his old age all sorts of %e!ilderment*s 7e %e#ame infatuated !ith an a%andoned infant deer$ "n a moment, all his a#quired merit of austerit+ and non3atta#hment 'anished$

No%od+ -no!s ho! their destin+ !ill !or- until the end of their life$ So tr+ to li'e e'er+da+ in su#h a !a+ that at the end +ou !ill ha'e the #onsolation that +ou ha'e su##essfull+ used all the da+s and +ears$ That +ou ha'e used the gift of the

%od+, mind, and life )od has %esto!ed upon +ou$ Numerous thoughts, pro%lems, fears, an0ieties, and !orries, are all around, all the time to dislodge us from that goal of %eing !ith )od$ Three3fourths of our life seems to %e spent !ith these !orries$ So /ahanam is the safet+ shield !hi#h not onl+ leads us to the primar+ goal, %ut is the goal itself$ Ne#tar does the jo% of ne#tar, poison does the jo% of poison$ So depend upon the ne#tar of )od ,lmight+, espe#iall+ !hen it has %een +our good fortune to ha'e on#e tasted that ne#tar$ .eople ha'e the ha%it to #riti#i8e and gossip$ Do not %other !ith this$ Do not indulge +our mind$ "f +ou do, +our mind !ill %e#ome more restless and #onfused$ .atien#e and Name are the onl+ solution$ FIND GOD'S NAME WITHIN, AND REPEAT IT CONSTANTLY.

Do not #onsole +ourself %+ the suffering of others$ Sa+ing m+ fate #ould ha'e %een !orse, loo- at those people$ Truth -no!s no dis#rimination$ We all get !hat !e deser'e, not !hat !e thin- !e deser'e$ What !e do !ith it, is !hat #ounts$ .eople ta-e #redit for their su##esses and usuall+ %lame others for their failures$
