The students echo, Hello, Mr. Pratt on the same pitches. Then the teacher sings the syllables with the students echoing. Finally, the teacher claps the rhythm and sings Ta-Ta-TiTi-Ta with the class echoing. Then, the teacher shows the students a cardboard cut-out of a Do Clef. The teacher tells the students that this clef tells us where Do lives. Next, the teacher places it on the five line staff on the carpet. He counts the lines or spaces from the bottom in order to verbalize the location of the notes. Then, he positions the cut outs of Do, Mi, and So. Next, the teacher has the students sing those three notes in different patterns using Curwen hand signs. Then, the teacher introduces those notes as the 3 Amigos. If So is on a line, then Mi is on a line below, and Do is on a line below that. If the Do Clef moves then they all move. The teacher then has three students come up and they each are given a note. The teacher moves the Do Clef, and the students place their notes down in the correct place. Then, the teacher shows the students how those three notes are used to make the song Mousie, Mousie, to which they have already been introduced. Next the students receive their iPads and they use the Show Me app to draw a 5 line staff, Do Clef, and the three pitches of the song. The teacher will check the work of each student. The teacher will finish the class by singing Goodbye using the syllables from Mousie, Mousie.
