Object/Parameter description
This section gives the description of customer available objects and parameters.
Introduction
Parameters belong to a containing object. Object descriptions can be found in the first volume. In the volumes 2 to 9, the parameters are grouped by Network Element: CNode, INode, NodeB, OAM, POC7K, POC15K (each volume is dedicated to 1 Network Element) and by containing object (those objects being alphabetically sorted for each Network Element). For further information on the parameters network engineering, please contact your Account Manager who will support you into getting the UTRAN Parameters User Guide (UPUG) issued by Alcatel-Lucent Wireless Network Engineering group.
Object description
Each object is presented as follows: Unique Name (Name). RNC objects have a unique name different from their name. NodeB and OAM objects have a unique name equal to their name. In each volume (from volume 2 to 9), the objects are sorted by alphabetical order according to their Unique Name. For each object, the following general information are presented: presence: the value of this field can be "optional" or "required" onlineCreation: the value of this field can be "AllowedWithParent" or "Allowed" or "NotAllowed". onlineDeletion: the value of this field can be "AllowedWithParent" or "Allowed" or "NotAllowed". verbs: the value of this field can be "add" or/and "delete", and it is used for Passport provisioning. parents: this field gives the list of the containing objects children: this field gives the list of the contained objects identifiers: this field gives the list of the identifiers, and for each one, the corresponding IDcategory, IDqualifier, IDscope, Mininstances, Maxinstances as follows: IDcategory IDqualifier IDscope Mininstances Maxinstances
Name
Parameter description
For each parameter, the following fields are presented: parameter name
domain: the three kinds of domains are: RNC: parameters are part of the RNC MIB definition and are hosted by WMS OAM and Network Element RNC BTS: parameters are part of the BTS MIB definition and are hosted by WMS OAM and Network Element BTS IN: parameters are part of the Inode MIB definition and are hosted by WMS OAM and Network Element Inode AN: parameters are part of the Anode MIB definition and are hosted by WMS OAM and Network Element Anode OAM: parameters are part of the WMS OAM MIB definition and are hosted by WMS OAM only. Its are not declared in any Network Element MIB, so its are not mediated by build function and not checked by audit function.
description: the parameter definition class: the five kinds of class are: 0: The parameter cannot be modified and a new object instance must be created with the requested parameter value thanks to build process or on line command. 1: The object instance does not need to be locked to modify the parameter and the modification will be taken into account after the NE has restarted. 2: The object instance (or one of the parent object instance) must be locked to modify the parameter and the modification will be taken into account after the object instance (or the parent object instance) has been unlocked. 3: So called "on-line parameter definition". The object instance does not need to be locked to modify the parameter and the modification will immediately be taken into account with no impact on the service availability. READ ONLY: The "read only" parameters can only be displayed.
presence: indicates if the configuration of the parameter is optional. visibility parameter accessible for the customer (read/write or read only) Alcatel-Lucent defines these parameters and they are not accessible for customer parameters that can be modified by the customer, but it is strongly recommended to set them according to Alcatel-Lucent specification as their modifications can have performance impacts on WMS
Customer Manufacturer
Customer Restricted
data type: decimal, integer, float, boolean, etc. unit: the measurement unit of the value range, when applicable.
Unit %
Alcatel-Lucent 9300 W-CDMA Product Family - Parameter Reference Guide - NodeB Parameters
#s ms byte/s cells/sec dB dBm deg h Kb km meter MHz min ms number of cells s W range: the parameter value range. For example: Float: min = -35, max = 15, step = 0.1 Enum (AdministrativeState): locked (0), unlocked (1), shuttingdown (2) String: length = 40 (Hex) Integer: min = 0, max = nRouteSet-1 initial value: the value of a new parameter is [#false#] or [#null#] or [x]. This value is used: either when a customer wants to ensure the same performances before a UTRAN release upgrade or when a customer wants to deactivate a function def value comments recommended value: this value is recommended by Alcatel-Lucent for new networks roll out before the optimization. The recommended values take benefit of the performance of Alcatel-Lucent UTRAN feature. For installed networks, the value to set depends on the chosen options or rules defined by the customer. rec val comments
Index description
At the end of each volume (from volume 2 to volume 9), two indexes are available summarizing all the parameters presented in the concerned volume:
an index for the customer parameters an index for the manufacturer parameters
These two indexes list the parameters by category (standard, inventory, states and status, dynamic data, I&C) and by object sorted by alphabetical order, as follows: standard parameters Object A Parameter AA Parameter AB Parameter AC Parameter BA Parameter BB

subNetworkMask
Parameter name Domain Description subNetworkMask BTS IETF RFC 922 & 1878 The network mask strips the network ID from the IP address, leaving only the host ID. The network mask is what performs all the local magic of dividing an IP network into subnetworks. The network mask for an un-sub-networked IP network number is simply a dotted quad which has all the 'network bits' of the network number set to '1' and all the host bits set to '0'. So, for the three classes of IP networks, the standard network masks are:- 255.255.255.0 The way sub-networking operates is to borrow one or more of the available host bits and make then make interfaces locally interpret these borrowed bits as part of the network bits. So to divide a network number into two subnetworks, we would borrow one host bit by setting the appropriate bit in the network mask of the first (normal) host bit to '1'. For a C Class address, this would result in a netmask of 11111111.11111111.11111111.10000000 or 255.255.255.128 For C Class network number of 192.168.1.0, these are some of the sub-networking options you have: _________________________________________

omcbIpAddress
Parameter name Domain Description omcbIpAddress BTS Each entry of the list represents an OMC-B that can manage the BTS. It is composed of omcbIpAddress: IP address of the OMC-B This parameter is used only is DHCP has not been activated on the BTS (I&C parameter). In case the OMC-B address stored in I&C is not present in the list, the BTS automatically adds it in its internal list of OMC-B. Note1: BTS reuses same IP Mask and same BTS In port (same solution as with DHCP) Note2: for CCM replacement management, the BTS would need to update I&C parameter when connecting to a "backup" OMC-B. The Backup OMC-B then becomes the "current-I&C" OMC-B 3 required customer [0..255].[0..255].[0..255].[0..255] Ip4Address N.A.

subNetworkMaskOfSiteLan
Parameter name Domain Description subNetworkMaskOfSiteLan BTS Definition of the sub network mask connected beyond the BTS (IP address notation) IETF RFC 922 & 1878 The network mask strips the network ID from the IP address, leaving only the host ID. The network mask is what performs all the local magic of dividing an IP network into subnetworks. The network mask for an un-sub-networked IP network number is simply a dotted quad which has all the 'network bits' of the network number set to '1' and all the host bits set to '0'. So, for the three classes of IP networks, the standard network masks are:- rk number into two subnetworks, we would borrow one host bit by setting the appropriate bit in the network mask of the first (normal) host bit to '1'. For a C Class address, this would result in a netmask of 11111111.11111111.11111111.10000000 or 255.255.255.128 For C Class network number of 192.168.1.0, these are some of the sub-networking options you have: _________________________________________ _____________________________ No of No of subnets Hosts/net netmask 2 126 255.255.255.128 (11111111.11111111.11111111.10000000) 4 62 255.255.255.192 (11111111.11111111.11111111.11000000) 8 30 255.255.255.224 (11111111.11111111.11111111.11100000) 16 14 255.255.255.240 (11111111.11111111.11111111.11110000) 32 6
