"Jaws of Justice Radio" show selected for regular timeslot; plus other schedule changes In a continuing effort to bring listeners timely news and public affairs programming on the crucial issues of the day, KKFI will be making some program schedule changes next week. KKFI Programming Committee chair Mark Andruss announced the permanent timeslot for the "Jaws of Justice Radio" show, mentioning "we're biased towards locally-produced shows" on the KKFI schedule. The 30-minute program airs Monday, February 6, 2012 at 9:00 am. And Justice For All. Can we be truly confident that those last four words from our Pledge of Allegiance are being exercised in our nation? In the summer of 2008, Jeff Humfeld and Gabi Otto organized a group of citizens at KKFI and created the program Jaws of Justice Radio. The group is comprised of formerly incarcerated citizens, family members of victims, the incarcerated, attorneys and community members seeking Justice For All. Jaws of Justice Radios mission is to pull back the curtain and reveal the individuals who pen our laws as well as those whom our justice system is designed to protect. When people come together, alternatives to the present practice that places the law before justice can be found, alternatives that are restorative to those who have been wronged, and just to those who have offended the law. Jaws of Justice Radio invites listeners to join the pursuit of the goal to inform our society about the realities of the existing systems and in doing so, start a dialogue in our community about justice, where the system works, where it does not, and what can be done to make the system about justice, not just the law, which is often written by lobbyist for special interests. Only then, can we say there is truly Justice For All. New Missouri State Representative (41st District) Brandon Ellington, serving on the Corrections Committee, will be the show's first guest in their new timeslot. Tune in to learn about a number of important bills that will come through that committee. Here is the planned schedule of Jaws of Justice Radio for February: February 6 - Brandon Ellington talks legislation with Melvin Merritt. February 13 - Michele Alexander, author of THE NEW JIM CROW, in a taped interview with Mike Clinton. February 20 - Ann Wright, former Army Officer and diplomat, talks about the erosion of our constitutional rights with Margo Patterson.
