BAB I PENDAHULUAN

1.1. Latar Belakang Perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi yang semakin pesat menghasilkan berbagai perkembangan dalam dunia indutrialisasi. Berbagai mesin baru dan improvisasi dikembangkan dengan tujuan untuk lebih memudahkan manusia dalam mengoperasikannya. Selain itu, mesin-mesin tersebut juga dibuat untuk meningkatkan produktifitas suatu perusahaan. Mesin Building merk VMI-VAST merupakan salah satu mesin baru yang digunakan dalam industri manufaktur ban di PT. Gajah Tunggal Tbk. Mesin tersebut digunakan untuk menyatukan beberapa material pada ban yang sebelumnya telah melalui beberapa proses. Dengan adanya mesin baru ini, maka harus adanya pembelajaran terhadap cara pengoperasian dan cara troubleshooting yang ada pada mesin tersebut. Grafcet merupakan suatu metode yang dapat digunakan dalam melakukan troubleshooting masalah yang akan terjadi pada mesin building merk VMI-VAST. Dalam grafcet ini akan dijelaskan bagaimana tahap-tahap yang harus dilakukan dalam melakukan troubleshooting suatu masalah yang terjadi. Oleh karena grafcet merupakan hal baru dalam troubleshooting, maka penulis tertarik untuk melakukan analisis pada grafcet sebagai metode untuk melakukan troubleshooting pada mesin building merk VMI-VAST.

1.2. Perumusan Masalah Adapun perumusan masalah yang akan dikaji pada penelitian ini yaitu : 1. Bagaimana cara penggunaan grafcet sebagai metode troubleshooting pada mesin building merk VMI-VAST ?

1.3. Batasan Masalah Agar pembahasan tidak melebar, maka penulis membatasi permasalahan hanya pada : 1. Mesin building merk VMI-VAST. 2. Penggunaan grafcet sebagai metode troubleshooting mesin building merk VMI-VAST. 3. Troubleshooting untuk masalah kelistrikan.

1.4. Tujuan Penelitian Adapun penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan : 1. Mengetahui cara penggunaan grafcet sebagai metode troubleshooting mesin building merk VMI-VAST. 2. Mengetahui alur troubleshooting yang harus dilakukan saat terjadi masalah pada mesin building merk VMI-VAST.

1.5. Manfaat Penelitian Adapun manfaat dari penelitian ini yaitu : 1. Mempermudah pembacaan grafcet dalam analisis troubleshooting mesin building VMI-VAST. 2. Mempermudah alur troubleshooting pada mesin building merk VMI-VAST.

3.2. Hipotesis Pendahuluan Pada penelitian ini, penulis memiliki hipotesis awal bahwa metode analisis pada grafcet dapat membantu engineer dalam menyelesaikan masalah yang terjadi pada mesin building merk VMI-VAST.

3.3. Jadwal Penelitian Penelitian ini akan dilakukan di Department Engineering PT. Gajah Tunggal Tbk.
