Our Wishes for a Most Blessed 2014!

We are all on a journey to know and love God in deeper ways. God doesnt demand perfection before loving us! But God does delight in seeing us moving in the right direction, toward the light, closer to God, despite the times we fall down or take a wrong turn. The love of Jesus is always there, drawing us back to our true home, helping us to grow into our true selves more patient, more loving, more peaceful, kind and generous. Keep walking in the light and let the Holy Spirit fill you with light! We have been given the eternal light in Jesus Light that no darkness can ever extinguish. May God grant us all peace, wisdom, and joy in 2014, and the will to make a difference in the lives of others as Christ has in ours!

Two New Grandsons: Collin Glass & Levi Brooks

We were thrilled to welcome two new grandsons into our family. Collin Elijah Lee Glass was born in Valparaiso, Indiana, to Mary & Gabe on October 7, 2013, weighing in at 7lb. 7 oz.

Levi Holcombe Brooks was born in Orlando, Florida, to Anna & Bobby on November 29, 2013, a cute little 6lb. 8 oz. baby. Anna was three weeks early. Janet was able to spend a couple weeks with each of the newborns soon after birth.

Mary & Gabe

Mary and Gabriel (Gabe) Glass were married at First United Methodist Church in Ashland, Ohio, on July 21, 2012. Mary had completed her Music Education degree from Valparaiso University the previous December and secured a job as a choral director at a Middle/High School in Hammond, Indiana. Gabe is a worship leader and youth director at First United Methodist Church in Valparaiso. See the picture above and news of their first child!! Rebekah

has had a very busy year, starting with Discipleship Training School with YWAM (Youth with a Mission) in South Africa. She concluded her work with a trip to the YWAM base in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Since back in the States she has been working on the foundations of a dream organization she is calling Art Therapy Nomad. You can visit her website once it goes live; simply Google the title. The website will also include information on how you can support her mission work financially. Aunt Rebekah & Levi.

Ruth

is in her second year at Ashland University, studying early childhood education. She has been very active in The Well, the Thursday evening Christian ministry, sings in one of the praise bands, and is being prepared for leadership in the Eli (Emerging Leaders Incubator) program. She looks forward to a trip to Costa Rica this coming summer.

Janet & Paul

Janet continues her pastoral ministry at Paradise Hill UMC here in Ashland and remains a strong advocate for children orphaned by AIDS in Africa, especially through ZOE Ministry (www.zoehelps.org). Paul assumed a leadership role at Ashland Theological Seminary a yearand-a-half ago as Academic Dean. Curricular renovation has been his greatest challenge this year. We both look forward to a trip to Africa in February when Paul will preach the Ordination Sermon at the Annual Session of the Liberia United Methodist Conference. Our greatest joy is the addition of more grandchildren to our family! What treasures and precious gifts from God.

Anna & Bobby/Sandy & Lawrence

Anna and Bobby continue to make their home in the Orlando area at 1060 Manigan Avenue, Oviedo, FL 32765. Bobby is still Director of Youth Ministries at University Carillon UMC and Anna will be working at home with newborn, Levi! The picture below was taken on Christmas morning. Alyssa, our eight-year-old granddaughter, has become such a wonderful big sister as you can easily see from the picture below. Sandy and Lawrence live at 174 Nashoba Avenue, Columbus, OH 43223. Sandy continues to work as an Early Head Start teacher with the Child Development Council in Columbus. We are so proud of all she does to help children learn. Lawrence continues to work with his Kenyan tea idea with the goal of making it a reality with launch at the end of January. Contact him if you have interest in good Kenyan tea!!

A number of new books since our last newsletter!!

When we fail to get a newsletter to you all, the books just kind of pile up. I think Paul published four new books since our last communication. Making Disciples in a World Parish, John & Charles Wesley and The Imitation of Christ (both in the Skylight Illuminations series), and The Works of John Wesley, Volume 13, in which he prepared all the material on Wesleys doctrine of Christian perfection.
