Introduction
Advanced Cross-Channel analysis is a downloadable program (DLP) for the 2120 dual channel analyzer. It is used for acquiring frequency transfer functions from A/B or B/A. The program includes: a) general cross channel and b) impact testing. Menus are preconfigured for optimum results with little or no set-up by the user. The peak in the cross-channel spectrum (lower plot) indicates a structural resonance. A coherence value close to 1.00 (upper plot) confirms validity of the measurement.
Cross-channel analysis isnt just for high level vibration experts anymore. CSI has made this useful vibration measuring technique accessible and easy to understand by preconfiguring signal acquisition parameters, so only minimal training is needed. Cross-channel analysis allows you to identify and measure critical resonant frequencies. T h i s enables you to foresee frequency conflicts that would cause structural damage and machine failure. Other typical applications include:

When used in conjunction with the Advanced Cross-Channel analysis program, VibPro provides powerful cross-channel analysis capabilities including: waveform and spectrum for both the impact and force

full spectrum cross-channel phase full spectrum coherence transfer functions with separate display of both real and imaginary components
Easy-to-use features include autoranging that quickly adjusts gain to correct level during impact testing and discards overranges automatically so that the user can proceed with the job without starting over; and coherence provides inexperienced users with a simple, effective way to determine the validity of the reading before recommending design changes.

Multiple plots can be displayed simultaneously with a synchronized cursor to facilitate identification of resonant frequencies. When used with the transient program (part # A2120F4), this new 32-bit software enables the analyst to display a dual channel transient waveform with synchronized cursors. Any portion of the waveform may be expanded, and FFT analysis can be performed using a variety of selectable parameters, such as resolution, window type, and average mode. VibPro also includes a standard data export format to transfer measurements to CSIs Windows-based ODS and Modal Analysis software for advanced structural analysis.
