The United Way of Northeastern MN is no longer just a

fundraising organization. Since 2008, we have worked

to adopt our own programs that improve
education, encourage financial stability
and promote healthy lives right here on
the Iron Range.
Imagination Library
A school readiness program sponsored
by United Way that delivers monthly age
appropriate books to children birth to age five for FREE!
There are no income guidelines to this program. Since the
inception, over 4,000 children have benefited from the
program. Sign your child up today!
Smiles Across MN
A preventative dental care
program in partnership with
Childrens Dental Services, that provides teeth cleaning,
fluoride treatments, sealants, oral health, and nutritional
education to children in a school based setting with a focus
on children who are under or un-insured. The service is provided by a mobile dental unit that brings the equipment on
site with a local hygienist and assistant. A local dentist also
travels across our service territory to provide restorative care
to children when the need arises.
Buddy Backpack Program
Children most at risk in our area schools are
enrolled in this program and receive a backpack full of nutritious, child-friendly and
non-perishable food each Friday or holiday
break before they head home from school.

UNITED WAYS EVENTS RAISED OVER

CAN A T-SHIRT REALLY

CHANGE OUR

COMMUNITIES?

INVEST WISELY. PREVENT PROBLEMS. CREATE CHANGE.

What could be more exciting than doing something to
enable children and youth to develop to their full potential?
Thanks to United Way, kids have access to quality
mentoring, literacy and after-school programs. They are
receiving added support early on so they can graduate and
find much success in life. Together, we are creating positive
possibilities for our youth.

EDUCATION

In life,

some events are too big to handle alone.

When you do something to lift a family, it changes life

for generations.
A friendly voice
in the middle of the night makes a bad
situation bearable.

You
cant dream big
unless you have someone to look up to.

In life, some events are too big to handle alone. There are
times when were fighting addictions, leaving an abusive
situation, or just need a fresh start for many different
reasons. Since no one can do it alone, United Way is there
with resources, counseling, safe and affordable shelter, job
training, case management and help getting to those new
beginnings that inspire all of us.
