THE ROLES OF TEACHERS

2.2.1 THE ROLES OF PRINCIPAL The principal at SMK Seri Mutiara is En Amir Abdul Ghani. He was duties as a principal on Januari 2012.The role of the principal covers many different areas including leadership, teacher evaluation,student discipline, and several others. Although Mr Amir Abdul Ghani has responsible for curriculum enhancement and Cocurriculum and he also have to ensure its implementation in line with the Ministry of Education. Recently he was called one student from form 5 because that student smoking in school area.

School Leader A school principal is the primary leader in a school building. A good leader always leads by example. A principal should be positive, enthusiastic, have their hand in the day to day activities of the school, and listen to what their constituents are saying. An effective leader is available to teachers, staff members, parents, students, and community members. Good leaders stays calm in difficult situations, thinks before they act, and puts the needs of the school before themselves. An effective leader steps up to fill in holes as needed, even if it isnt a part of their daily routine. Student Discipline A large part of any school principals job is to handle student discipline. The first step of having effective student discipline is to make sure that your teachers know what you are expecting when it comes to student discipline. Once they understand how you want them to handle it, then your job becomes easier. The discipline issues you deal will mostly come from teacher referrals. There are times that this can take a large part of the day. A good principal will listen to all sides of an issue without jumping to conclusions collecting as much evidence as you can. A principal role in student discipline is much like that of a judge and a jury. You decide whether the student is guilty of a disciplinary infraction and what penalty should be enforced. An effective principal always documents discipline issues, makes fair decisions, and informs parents when necessary. Teacher Evaluator Most principals also are responsible for evaluating their teachers performance following district and state guidelines. An effective school has to have effective teachers and the teacher evaluation process is in place to make sure that the teachers in your building are effective. Evaluations should be fair and well documented pointed out both strengths and weaknesses. Spend as much quality time in your classrooms as possible. Gather information each time you visit, even if it is just for a few minutes. Doing this allows the evaluator to have a larger collection of evidence of what actually goes on in a classroom, than a principal who has had minimal visits to a classroom. A good evaluator always lets their teachers know what their expectations are and then offers suggestions for improvement if those expectations are not being met. Develop, Implement, & Evaluate Programs

Developing, implementing, and evaluating the programs within your school is another large part of a school principals role. A principal should always be looking for ways to improve the student experience at school. Developing effective programs that cover a variety of areas is one way to ensure this. It is acceptable to look at other schools in your area and to implement those programs within your own school that have proved to be effective elsewhere. Programs within your school should be evaluated every year and tweaked as necessary. If your reading program has become stale and your students are not showing much growth, then it may be necessary to review the program and make some changes to improve the quality of that program. Review Policies & Procedures An individual schools governing document is their student handbook. A principal should have their stamp on the handbook. A principal should review, remove, rewrite, or write policies and procedures every year as needed. Having an effective student handbook can improve the quality of education your students receive. It can also make a principals job a little easier. The principals role is to make sure students, teachers, and parents know what these policies and procedures are and to hold each individual accountable to following them. 2.2.2 Senior Assistant Reference 1 (Administration) 1. Run the principal duties during his absence. 2. Teach a number of principal directions of time. 3. Responsible to the principal in the case of curriculum, administration, public relations and security. 4. Help principal supervise and evaluate the teaching process. 5. Assist the principal in all aspects of planning and school management. List Of Duties Of Senior Assistant 1 (Administration) Curriculum 1. Determine the daily lesson plans, weekly, terms and so on. 2. Ensure the subject panel. 3. Assist the provision of education technology, resource center, laboratories and workshops. 4. Determine the use and maintenance of educational resource materials. 5. Help and guidance in teaching practice for student teachers, new teachers teaching and teachers are not trained back up in their daily work. 6. Review all reports related to the curriculum and recommending corrective actions. 7. Coordinate all types of programs organized by the school curriculum, the District Education Office, Home Affairs and Education. 8. Help choose textbooks, library materials and reading books. 9. Arrange class schedules and teachers and provide a replacement schedule. Management

1. Assist the workload of teacher and school support staff. 2. Help coordinate the affairs of the examination, and training course for teachers and support staff. 3. Help maintain and coordinate the collection of data/information. 4. Help plan the school calendar. 5. Help supervise the work of teachers and support staff. 6. Actively involved in associations related to the teaching profession. 2.2.3 Afternoon Supervisor Duties and resposibiilities of the afternoon supervisor Assist principals in carrying out administrative duties and management of the afternoon session Supervise the work of the school staf Monitor and enforce the discipline of students and staff Become a member of the students discipline committee Help principals to quarantee and ensure the safety of pupils, staff and school property in the evening Help principals determine the admission of students and increase the students. Report to the principals about the important thing that happen in school Ensure harmony in schools Help principals manage the preparation and use of the afternoon schedule Conduct weekly gatherings To ensure the replacement work shift Perform others duties as directed by the principal from time to time 2.2.4 Head of Sector Duties of Senior Technical and Vocational Teacher

1. Responsible to the principal in matters of curriculum and related administration field. 2. Responsible for the principal in the planning and management related to the field. 3. Assist the principal to supervise and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning related to the field. 4. Establish a program to improve students academic excellence and character. 5. Assist the principal in all aspects of educational planning and management related field. 6. Assist the principal co-ordinate with external parties on matters related to the field, such as school inspection by the Federal Inspectorate Congregation, teaching trainee teachers colleges, universities and others. 7. Assist the principal in the management and handling of stock, inventory and school property. List of duties of Senior Technical and Vocational Teachers 1. Teaching subjects as options. 2. Lead teachers to determine and plan Educational Term Plan, Weekly, Daily and other fields related. 3. Chairing the committee meeting and leading travel-subject panel under his control. 4. Conduct monitoring and supervision of teaching and learning activities. 5. Determine the material and educational resources are used and maintained effectively. 6. Assist and guide the trainees teacher in training, new teachers and teachers not trained in performing backup duties. 7. Review all reports related to the field and take appropriate action. 8. Coordinate travel management and restoration activities guidance and enrichment. 9. Assist in program planning and coordination of activities carried out by the school curriculum, school districts, State Education Department and The Ministry of Education, Malaysia. 10. Assist in the selection of textbooks, library materials, audiovisual materials and other educational resources. 11. Sit in the School Curriculum Committee and other committees as directed by the Principal. 12. Help conduct training courses, briefings, presentations and meetings at the school in the context of staff development. 13. Undertake efforts to enhance and expand the practice of using Malay as a language of knowledge across the curriculum.

14. Obtain and disseminate the latest information on the methodologies and approaches to teaching and learning environment for teachers. 15. Identify the root cause of the students and discipline problems and to find measures to overcome them. 16. Planning, coordinate and implement all extra-curricular activities of and academic nature that help improve academic excellence related to the field. 17. Plan, monitor and coordinate all activities related to the field of association. 18. Assist the principal determine and distribute the tasks of teachers of subjects under the jurisdiction and school. 19. Help coordinate the examination matters, and training courses for teachers. 20. Help maintain and coordinate the collection of data or information and all kinds of statistics related to the field. 21. Help plan the school calendar. 22. Assist the timetable of principal coordinate field teachers. 23. Oversee the work of teachers under the supervision and control. 24. Assist in preparing annual budget estimates and control school spending. 25. Help coordinate the preparation of financial statements for the business of annual audit. 26. Maintain and review all inventory of equipment, goods or materials related to the field. 27. Determine the seeding aspects of the values and practices occur in the classroom and in the school. 28. Ensure students are trained to perform the duties of classroom management, workshops and fun. 29. Pengurusan dan Organisasi kelas Membentuk organisasi kelas yang terdir daripada Ketua Tingkatan. Penolong Ketua Tingkatan, Bendahari, AJK kebersihan dan AJK Keceriaan, memastikan AJK kebersihan mengagihkan pelajar untuk membersihkan papan hitam, menyapu lantai, mengelap tingkap, menyusun kerusi meja dan membuang sampah. Memastikan AJK Keceriaan sentiasa mengemaskini papan kenyataan dan papan maklumat dari masa kesemasa, menyediakan langsir dan bunga (jika perlu) untuk kelas.

Menentukan perkara-perkara yang berikut ada di dalam kelas:

Menandakan jadual kedatangan harian selewat-lewatnya sebelum waktu pertama berakhir dan menyimpan buku daftar pelajar di pejabat. Menentukan semua butir yang dikehendaki ada di dalam kelas. Memastikan data terkini pelajar di dalam kelas. Memastikan kelas mempunyai buku rekod ponteng kelas dan diselenggarakan seperti yang diarahkan. Buku diambil dan dihantar pada waktu dan ditempat yang Menjamin keselamatan buku tersebut.

Laporan pelajaran, sijil berhenti dan surat akuan o Mengisikan markah dan membuat laporan kemajuan akademik, kokurikulum dan fizikal dalam kemajuan pelajar bagi setiap semester/penggal. o Menyampaikan slip kemajuan pelajar kepada ibu bapa setiap kali selepas ujian.peperiksaan.

Dan memberikan hadiah ( jika perlu) o Sentiasa prihatin terhadap semua masalah pelajar. o Melaporkan kepada kaunselor jika terdapat kemerosotan pelajaran di kalangan pelajar. o Melaporkan kepada Guru Kesihatan jika terdapat pelajar yang menghadapi masalah kesihatan o Melaporkan kepada Guru Disiplin jika terdapat pelajar yang melanggar disiplin sekolah. o Melaporkan kes ponteng mengikut prosedur yang berikut (a) mendapat dan mengisi dalam dua salinan borang Melanggar Peraturan Sekolah yang dapat diperolehi dari penyelaras Tingkatan atau Bilik Guru Disiplin. (b) Menghantar satu salinan borang tersebut kepada ibu bapa.

Buku teks, biasiswa dan bantuan o Memastikan skim pinjman buku teks diagih kepada pelajar yang layak dan memastikan buku-buku tersebut dibalut dan ditulis nama pelajar. o Mengemaskini fail SPBT dari masa ke semasa. o Memulangkan buku teks pada tarikh yang ditetapkan dan menyenaraikan nama pelajar yang tidak memulangkan buku teks pada akhir tahun dan memberikan senarai itu kepada guru SPBT o Mengenalpasti pelajar yang layak menerima sebarang bentuk bantuan yang lain dan melaporkan kepada Guru Kebajikan.

Melaporkan kepada Guru Biasiswa sekiranya terdapat kemerosotan pelajaran di kalangan pelajar yang mendapat biasiswa.

Kutipan Yuran dan Derma o Mengutip yuran sekolah pada awal tahun dan menggalakkan pelajar membayar kesemua yuran sekaligus. o Mengutip derma PIBG o Mengutup wang peperiksaan bagi kelas-kelas peperiksaan. o Mengeluarkan resit kepada pelajar bagi pembayaran yang dibuat. o Menyerahkan wang kutipan yuran sekolah dan wang peperiksaan serta buku kutipan kepada Pembantu Tadbir pada hari yang sama. o Menyerahkan wang kutipan derma PIBG kepada Bendahari PIBG .

Pendaftaran Pelajar Baru o Menerima kemasukkan pelajar baru, ke dalam buku kemasukan pelajar dan mendapatkan nombor pendaftaran pelajar baru dari buku kemasukan pelajar daripada daripada Penolong Kanan HEM. o Menentukan penerimaan borang SPBT (sekiranya layak) dari sekolah yang terdahulu dan memastikan pelajar ini mendapat buku teks. o Menyemak jika pelajar ini menerima sebarang bentuk biasiswa dan melaporkan kepada guru biasiswa. o Menentukan rumah sukan. o Mengambil butir-butir diri yang diperlukan. Menentukan hal-hal peperiksaan telah disempurnakan bagi pelajar tingkatan 5. Menentukan kelulusan untuk bertukar telah diterima. Menentukan buku teks telah dipulangkan. Menentukan penerimaan biasiswa dilaporkan kepada pejabat. Pendaftaran sukan, persatuan dan lain-lain.

Menentukan setiap pelajar menyertai aktiviti kokurikulum dan menyerahkan senarai nama mereka mengikut persatuan, kelab dan badan beruniform yang dipilih kepada Penyelaras Kokurikulum. Menggalakkan pelajar bergiat cergas dalam sukan dan juga aktiviti kokurikulum.

SENARAI TUGAS GURU MATA PELAJARAN


Mempunyai sebuah Buku Rekod Mengajar yang kemaskini dan menyerahkan kepada Pengetua pada masa yang ditetapkan setiap minggu. Memiliki, memahami dan boleh mentafsirkan serta menghuraikan kandungan sukatan mata pelajaran yang berkenaan. Memahami dan mematuhi pekeliling_pekeliling dan arahan yang berkaitan dengan mata pelajaran yang diajar serta menentukan dan menetapkan matlamat yang harus dicapai, iaitu dari segi pengetahuan, kebolehan dan kemahiran yang harus dicapai di akhir tiap penggal bagi tiap tingkatan. Menyediakan Rancangan Pelajaran bagi mata pelajran yang diajar dengan lengkap untuk tempoh setahun/sepenggal/ seminggu / harian dan melaksanakan pengajarannya mengikut rancangan pelajaran yang disediakan. Menyedia dan memberikan kerja-kerja latihan yang cukup, memeriksa buku latihan pelajar dan memulangkan semula secepat mungkin. Menyerahkan / menunjukkan buku latihan murid kepada pengetua/ wakilnya pada masa yang dikehendaki. Menjalankan ujian Bulanan dan Penilaian kepada pelajar . Merekodkan soalan-soalan dan keputusan ujian dalam buku rekod mengajar. Mengesan kelemahan pelajar dan menjalankan kelas pemulihan/ bimbingan. Menjadi ahli dalam Panitia Mata Pelajaran , menghadiri serta mematuhi dan melaksanakan keputusan mesyuarat panitia. Guru mata pelajaran harus menyedari dan menggunakan buku panduan yang dikeluarkan oleh Kementerian Pendidikan / Jabatan Pendidikan dan PPD. Memastikan keselamatan pelajar di makmal/ bengkel KH/ Bilik ERT/ Sains Pertanian serta mengawasi penggunaan peralatan. Menghadiri mesyuarat / taklimat mengenai mata pelajaran yang berkenaan sama ada yang dikelolakan oleh Kementerian Pendidikan / Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri dan PPD. Menyampaikan semua maklumat kepada guru lain yang mengajar mata pelajaran yang sama. Sentiasa mengikuti perkembangan dan pembaharuan tentang teknik mengajar bagi mata pelajaran berkenaan bagi meninggikan lagi prestasi dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran. Melaporkan kepada Guru Kanan Mata Pelajaran tentang masalah pengajaran dan pembelajaran untuk tindakan selanjutnya. Menjaga keselamatan dan kebersihan alat-alat bantuan mengajar yang digunakan, memastikan bahawa alat-alat bantuan mengajar digunakan secara meluas . Bertanggungjawab dalam menambahklan alat bantuan mengajar bagi memperkayakan Pusat Sumber Sekolah. Mengadakan sudut-sudut mata pelajaran berkenaan dalam kelas-kelas yang diajar.

Membantu menguruskan Bank Soalan.


Memiliki, memahami dan boleh mentafsir serta menghuraikan kandungan sukatan pelajaran dan huraian mata pelajaran berkenaan. . Mempunyai sebuah buku rekod mengajar yang kemaskini dan menghantarnya kepada Pengetua untuk ditandatangani pada masa yang ditetapkan iaitu setiap minggu.

Menyediakan rancang pelajaran bagi mata pelajaran yang diajar dengan lengkap untuk tempoh setahun/sepenggal /seminggu/harian dan melaksanakan pengajaran mengikut rancangan pelajaran yang ditetapkan. Menyedia dan memberi latihan yang cukup,memeriksa buku latihan pelajar dan memulangkan semula secepat mungkin.Menyerahkan buku latihan pelajar kepada Pengetua /PKP untuk disemak pada masa yang dikehendaki. Membina soalan ujian atau peperiksaan mengikut JPN . Menjalankan ujian bulanan dan penilaian kepada pelajar dari semasa ke semasa.Merekod soalan-soalan ujian dan penilaian serta markah ujian tersebut ke dalam buku rekod mengajar. Mengesan kelemahan pelajar dan mengadakan aktiviti pemulihan . Menjadi ahli dalam panitia mata pelajaran , menghadiri serta mematuhi dan melaksanakan keputusan mesyuarat panitia. Memastikan buku buku panduan yang digunakan adalah yang diluluskan oleh Kementerian Pendidikan /Jabatan Pendidikan /PPD.

KAUNSELOR SENARAI TUGAS KAUNSELOR


Menyedia rancangan tahunan program dan aktiviti perkhidmatan Bimbingan dan Kaunseling Sekolah Mengenalpasti keperluan perkhidmatan Bimbingan dan Kaunseling sekolah melalui kajian keperluan, soal selidik, temu bual dan perbincangan dengan pelajar, guru, pentadbir, kakitangan sekolah, ibu bapa dan bekas pelajar. Merancang, mengawalselia dan mengemaskini rekod dan inventori pelajar. Mengumpul, menyelia, menyebar maklumat Bimbingan dan Kaunseling kepada semua pelajar melalui sebarang media yang sesuai. Mengelola dan melaksanakan aktiviti Bimbingan dan Kaunseling kelompok dan tunjukajar (instructional) yang meransang perkembangan pelajar secara optimum. Merancang, melaksana dan mengawalselia perkhidmatan kaunseling individu secara profesional dan beretika. Merancang, melaksana, mengawalselia aktiviti kemahiran belajar untuk semua pelajar. Merancang, melaksana, mengawalselia serta menilai program dan aktiviti pemberian maklumat sesuai dengan penawaran pakej pensijilan terbuka dan keperluan IPT. Merancang, melaksana, mengawalselia dan menilai program dan aktiviti pendidikan pencegahan dadah, inhalan, rokok dan alkohol. Merancang, melaksana, mengawalselia dan menilai program dan aktiviti untuk menyedia dan mendedahkan pelajar kepada peluang melanjutkan pelajaran di institusi pengajian tinggi dalam dan luar negara. Merancang, melaksana, mengawalselia dan menilai program dan aktiviti perkhidmatan konsultasi dan rujukan berhubung Bimbingan dan KAunseling, Kerjaya dan Pendidikan Pencegahan Dadah. Merancang, melaksanakan, mengawalselia dan menilai program dan aktiviti konferens dengan ibu bapa, guru, kakitangan bukan guru dan agensi kerajaan dan bukan kerajaan yang terlibat dalam proses pendidikan dan perkembangan pelajar.

Membuat penilaian aktiviti, modul, model, instrumen dan pendekatan secara menyeluruh bagi meningkatkan mutu dan profesionalisma perkhidmatan Bimbingan dan Kaunseling. Merancang, menyelaras dan menilai sumber dan bahan resos perkhidmatan Bimbingan dan Kaunseling. Menjadi urusetia kepada Jawatankuasa Penyelaras Perkhidmatan Bimbingan dan KAunseling. Menjadi penggerak utama dalam program latihan dalaman bagi menyebarkan kefahaman dan peningkatan profesionalisma perkhidmatan Bimbingan dan Kaunseling di sekolah. Memberi khidmat kaunseling krisis kepada pelajar, guru, kakitangan dan ibu bapa yang memerlukannya. Menjadi personel perhubungan/seranta sekoalh dengan agensi-agensi luar yang berkaitan. Menjadi ahli jawatankuasa ex-oficio dalam jawatankuasa kurikulum sekolah. Menjadi ahli jawatankuasa dalam Majlis Perancang Sekolah, Disiplin Sekolah dan Jawatankuasa Lembaga/Badan Pengawas Sekolah. Menjadi penyelaras dalam program mento-mentee sekolah. Menjadi Penyelaras dalam program-program pengembangan pelajar seperti kolokium, motivasi, kem jaya diri dan kursus ketatanegaraan.

COORDINATOR FORM (PENYELARAS) ENARAI TUGAS GURU PENYELARAS TINGKATAN / KURSUS Help form teacher make government assistance book distribution(SPBT) Help Assistant Kanan HEM and Guru Biasiswa, form teacher select students that eligible to be given help / scholarship. Inform to principal / Penolong Kanan 1 / Penolong Kanan HEM /teacher data on total students in every class and course from time to time. Ensure approval letters new student intake kept in sign in( accordingto form) neatly and orderly. Collaborating with Penyelaras / examination secretary to provideexamination rooms.

Berada disekolah pada hari pendaftaran pelajar baru dan membantu guru Tingkatan untuk mengagihkan kemasukan pelajar. Memastikan guru tingkatan memberi bilangan, nombor pendaftaran dan memasukkan butir-butir pelajar dalam Buku Pendaftaran. Menyemak fail-fail kemasukan pelajar dan memastikan ia dikemaskini. Membantu guru dan menguruskan Buku Pendaftaran Pelajar. Buku ini mesti disimpan di pejabat. Mempastikan perkara-perkara berikut mencukupi dan dalam keadaan boleh guna. o Perabot bilik darjah o Tong sampah di luar kelas. ( plastik hitam) o Penyapu o Penyedok sampah
