David Jolly: Senator Rubio Puts Forth Common-sense Legislation to Keep Taxpayers off the Hook for Obamacares Failure
Jolly Applauds Senator Rubios Effort to Guard Against Any Taxpayer Bailout as a Result of Obamacares Market-crippling Mandates Clearwater, Fla. Pinellas County Republican Candidate David Jolly today applauded U.S. Senator Marco Rubios efforts to repeal a provision within Obamacare that would force taxpayers to foot the bill when insurance companies suffer great losses as a result of the laws market-crippling mandates and failed policies. From its inception to its absurdly flawed roll out and execution, Obamacare has been nothing but a mess of broken promises and failed practices, said Jolly. Now we learn Obamacare could result in great financial losses for insurance companies that were forced into the Obamacare exchange market. And worse, we come to find that taxpayers would be forced to make up for these losses when not if Obamacare ultimately fails. I applaud Senator Rubios effort to remove this provision and safeguard taxpayers from the financial losses that insurance companies will incur from their forced participation in a program that is guaranteed to fail. Senator Rubio has put forth common-sense legislation to keep taxpayers off the hook for Obamacares failure, and I fully endorse his proposal. The relevant provision within Obamacare would allow insurance companies to recoup from taxpayers any losses incurred from participating in the Obamacare exchange market. As a result of the discovery of such a provision, Senator Rubio has filed Senate Bill 1726, the Obamacare Taxpayer Bailout Prevention Act, to effectively repeal it. Unlike my opponent Alex Sink who supports Obamacare, I see Obamacare for the failure that it is and, it seems to be that the more we learn about hidden provisions within the law, the worse it gets, said Jolly. If given the opportunity to represent the people of Pinellas County in Congress, rest assured I will not stand for an Administration that is attempting to cover up their failures through the end of the current Presidents term by writing blank checks with taxpayer dollars. Florida Congressional District 13 was represented by the late Congressman Bill Young, who had served in the U.S. House of Representatives since 1971 before passing away on October 18, 2013. The special general election to fill the congressional seat for Florida District 13 will be held on March 11, 2014.
