Vibroseis Test
Vibroseis Test performs an analysis on two signals: Reference and Vibrator, in order to analyze the quality of vibrators.

Theory
The quality of data acquired using Vibroseis as a source can be improved by frequently monitoring the quality of vibrators. In-time identication and xing vibrator problems such as, phase or harmonic distortion, in the eld is very important since the processing cannot compensate for the eld hardware problems. Vibrator signal can be recorded on a baseplate or reaction mass as well. Harmonic and relative characteristics computation algorithm is based on analysis in windows. Each window is 500 ms long. Windows are 50% overlapped. Analyzing window is tapered with cosine taper on the edges and Fourier transformed to a frequency domain. After that amplitude spectrum of the window is computed (A). Maximum value in amplitude spectrum is considered to be a fundamental frequency (FF). Total fundamental energy (TFE), total odd energy (TOD) and total even energy (TEE) are then calculated as follows:

Usage
After you have successfully entered parameters and executed the program three graphic plots will be available for analysis and geophysical interpretation: Sweeps, Correlation and Harmonics. The following color convention is used: blue corresponds to a Reference sweep and its characteristics, brown corresponds to a Vibrator sweep and its characteristics, and pink corresponds to a mutual ReferenceVibrator characteristics, such as cross correlation or phase difference. Sweeps Plot holds Reference sweep, Vibrator sweep, there amplitude spectra, Reference and Vibrator sweeps overlapped and Phase difference between Reference and Vibrator. A positive phase difference represents a positive phase shift of Vibrator relative to the Reference. The phase spectrum will be zero for frequencies which have

cross power less than -80db relative to the maximum cross power of Vibrator and Reference. Correlation Plot holds autocorrelations of Reference and Vibrator, there cross correlation, logarithmic envelopes of auto- and cross- correlations, and frequency domain representation of correlations. Harmonics Plot holds graphic of Total Harmonic Distortion in percent, Frequency-Time representation of Reference and Vibrator sweeps, which helps to see vibrator harmonics. You can use the following icons while in a graphics session: Stop, Continue, and Print. Zoom capability is enabled automatically for each of the plots.
