Curriculum Overview for Grades 5/6

Room 202 – Mr. Iorio – 2009/10

Hello again,

The following document is meant to give an overview of what your child will be
learning this year in Room 202. If you have any specific questions, comments, or
concerns please e-mail me at john.iorio@tel.tdsb.on.ca and I will respond to your
concerns or set up a time for us to meet. This outline has been created based on the
Toronto District School Board of Education Documents and the Ministry of Education
Guidelines for all subject areas, as well as individual needs and interests of students.

I believe in an open and consistent communication between home and school. It is

important for us to work together to ensure the success of your child. Therefore, I’m
planning to use my “News You Can Use” blog (mriorio.blogspot.com) to keep
parents/guardians and children informed and up to date. The blog will contain
descriptions of what we are doing each term, as well as information about community
events our class is involved with, here at Frankland. If you have any suggestions of what
information might be helpful to you, please drop me a note and I’ll try to include it.

The children will be receiving their French instruction from Ms. Farmer and their
Music instruction from Mr. Roedding.

Sincerely,

J.A.Iorio
