was established on Ashoj, 2069 and is located in Baliya-8, Lamki, Kailali. This livestock enterprise began with few local cattle has now a dozen cattle of improved breeds and the number is increasing. Within a short duration of 16 months this farm has been able to sell milk worth about 5 lakhs and additional income by selling manure and forage seeds. Many visitors visit our farm daily and are getting inspired to initiate their own business. Our vision is to develop this farm as one of the model dairy farm in Kailali district within 5 years with a capacity of 50 cattle and integrated fish and swine farming. We plant Teosinte, Barseem, Jai like grasses. We have planted Napier on the edge of our farmland. Similarly, Ipil- Ipil seedlings have also been planted.We generally have to buy rice straw and wheat straw from nearby villagers. We have provision for storage of straw at our farm.To fulfil the demand of nutrition, we regularly provide concentrate ration to the cattle. We buy locally manufactured cattle feed. ANIMAL HEALTH AND MANAGEMENT: We have hired a village health technician to look after the animal health. We inseminate our cattle artificially. Similarly, the owner of the farm has received the training on cattle production from District Livestock Training Centre, Dhangadhi. MARKET: We are selling our milk at the DDC collection center situated at Lamki. Similarly, we are planning to start Paneer production and sell it in Dhangadhi and Nepalganj.
