SC Whitmore School student qualifies for finals of prestigious exchange program

SC Whitmore School student Rebecca Lindey Hudson has qualified for the final round and a face-toface interview for the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Program. Lindey, from Loris SC, will travel to Atlanta in March for the interview. If chosen, Lindey will study abroad in Germany while experiencing the language through full immersion. The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) program is for motivated high school students who want to experience a culture and learn a language through a full immersion experience. Students will learn about the German culture first-hand by living with a host family and attending a German high school. Students will also get a chance to connect to an elite network of U.S. Department of State program alumni. Lindey explains, This exchange program in particular appeals to me because I will have the chance to learn about my heritage. I am German and I want to experience the culture of my grandfather's birth. I have always dreamed about exploring the world. Being accepted into the CBYX Program can help me fulfill my dream. SC Whitmore School, a free public virtual high school powered by the CompuHigh mastery-based curriculum, is available to all South Carolina residents. Ellen Ray, Principal, SC Whitmore School, says, SC Whitmore supports students who pursue their passions. We are all looking forward to experiencing Lindeys exchange virtually if she is accepted to the program. The school is currently enrolling new
