Research Projects Undertaken:


Iron and Wootz Steel Industry in Telangana- A self finance Project. Field work conducted in 3000 villages in the ten districts of Telangana and found evidences of Iron Smelting and Wootz or Crucible Steel Industry sites belongs to Pre Historical and Early Historical Periods. From Sept 2005 to Dec 2010 and two books published on the project work. Book in English released in Dec 2009 and the book in Telugu released in Dec 2010. 2. Forge welded iron cannons in the forts of Deccan- Research project collaborating with Late Prof. R. Balasubramaniam, Head Dept. of MME, IIT Kanpur. (Project sanctioned by National Commission for History of Science, INSA - New Delhi in 2006.) Project from October 2006 to Dec 2008. Report submitting in July 2011. 3. Pioneering Metallurgy in South Indian Sub-Continent Sanctioned by UK-I ERI collaborating with Prof. Gill Juleff from Exeter University UK and Dr. Sharada Srinivasan and Prof S Ranganathan from NIAS, Bangalore, India as a Project Principal Investigators. I joined as Co investigator in the project. Field survey completed in Telangana from 25th Jan to 5th March 2010, (Camping at Dharmapuri). Visited Exeter University, UK in the month of July and August 2010. Project began from January 1, 2009 and ends by 31st Dec 2011. 4. Extensively travelled on Motor Cycle in Deccan states more than two lack in kilometres. Extensively travelled on the motor car around the country and visited 200 forts. Thousands of archaeological and historical sites visited in the country. 2000 Iron smelting sites and 300 Wootz making centres in Telangana Districts. Recorded several un identified archaeological sites in Telangana districts and visited most important historical sites in the country.
