INTRODUCTION: In our proposal we are going to solve the problem that we face these days with controlling the electricity within the households. We will introduce our users the way of controlling the electricity and acknowledge the potential danger that could possibly occur in the current system. VISION: Our companies goal is to provide our users with comfort of having full control of what is currently turned on within the house and be able to control whether to be turned on or off from their smartphones. We will also provide our users with functions such as notifying them about the danger that could possibly occur by misuse of electricity, which could reduce the amount of wasted electricity. Our vision is to achieve our goal by having fully implemented system, which will provide our users to waste the least amount of electricity and be able to prevent future accident. INDUSTRY ANALYSIS: We believe that when our software and hardware are completed we will be a monopoly in the industry knowing that similar software is in progress of development but nothing is exactly the same (Roger Yiu, December 13, 2013). Most of the companies have concentrated on just controlling the electricity which is to turn on and off from the smartphone device and to measure the whole usage, but we are taking a step further to notify our users with potential threats. (Smart electricity meters: How households and the environment can benefit, June 2001). From our research the company Smart Power Strip is developing a similar product that controls whether plugged in devices should be turned on or off, but have not been completely developed. Another similar company is in development stage (http://www.britishgas.co.uk/smarter-living/control-energy/smartmeters.html) is also very similar to our product but only notifies the users with the measure of the usage. From these researches we are able to give these conclusions.

Force: Buyer Power

High/Low Justification High

This is because even though the technology is new and able to help the users, if they believe that our system is not something they would require they will not make the purchase.

Supplier Power Threat of new Entrants

High

Even though the buyer power is high, due to our product being rare the software the supplier power should be high. Just by looking at our research we are already able to find many companies that has similar technology. We cannot say that the technology is the same but they could always add extra functions similar to our system if they find this worth implementing.

High

Threat of Substitutes

Low

It is known that the many of the company is in progress of developing the system but have not found any company that has the exact same functions. Therefore, we can say that we have no substitute at the moment. But, this is only applies until the competitors create a similar software. Rivals amount the companies in the industry seems high. This is because already, we have companies that are already in process of developing. Even though we have a special function that is only available for us, rivals can always implement this. Therefore, it is high.

Rivals among existing competitors

High

Overall attraction: We could say that if we enter in the market now we are highly likely to obtain most of the customers interest. But, it is not looking amazing when we think about the rivals and threats of the new entrances. CUSTOMERS AND THEIR NEEDS: Our targets with our product are the owners of their own houses. We want to attract these people acknowledging that they could possibly save money and prevent threats. There are many articles that are found on newspapers where there was an explosion and accidents due to gas and heaters. These are the core examples of the threats that we could prevent. We will satisfy the users that want to prevent these kinds of accidents and also save money from wasting less energy. (http://www.stuff.co.nz/searchresults?Search+Site=Search+Site&cof=FORID%3A 9&cx=006730714154542492986%3Aoh6vl0ybuqy&ie=UTF8&q=heater+explosion&siteurl=www.stuff.co.nz%2F&ref=m.stuff.co.nz%2F&ss=1 3105j5748407j60 ) THE PRODUCT AND SERVICES: Our main customers needs when using our service are to save money by wasting less electricity which is done by controlling the switch at any time and to prevent future accident that could occur. In order achieve this we will have to install our measuring meter by having a professional technician completing the job. We will also have the application manual given to our users by the technicians so that they are able to ask questions about functions that they are uncertain. Important

factor of our business is to maintain the system so that they are able to provide continuous measure and status of the current usage. Therefore, to achieve our goal and maintain our service, our system will have a function that will report the problems automatically before they break down and if there is a problem that could not be detected our users will be able to report to our technicians through the application, which will then be overviewed by our professionals. IDENTIFYING THE POTENTIAL PARTNERS AND SUPPLIERS: Our potential partners in my industry are the electricity companies and the manufacturers of the extension cords. Electricity companies should help us in providing a data of cost reduction in electricity and manufacturers of extension cords. They should implement some sort of microchip to make them sync to our applications. The suppliers of our product will be manufacturers of the smart electric meter device and the mobile phones. They are two important suppliers of our product so that we can provide our products to everyone in need. STRATEGY: Our strategy is to have broad and cost leadership. This is because we want our system to be implemented in as many places we can so that people feel unsafe without the system. In order to achieve this we want to make the price of the system as low as we can to attract a broad market of the users.

VALUE CHAIN: The most important factor from the value chain is to have a good service after the sale. The core reason of having our system implemented is to make their household secure and to save money. Also, our vision is to make our users feel comfortable and convenient in use of controlling the electricity usage anywhere at any time. If this was to be achieve our system cannot be broken down at anytime. If our system breaks, we need to get it fixed as soon as possible. Unless we have our system working all the time, our goal and the needs of our customers are not being satisfied. Therefore, we will have to maintain the service extremely well so that they will satisfy.

BUSINESS PROCESS MODELS AND FUNCTIONALTIES:

Business process in reporting the problem:

We have placed a system that our users could report their problems. When customers identify the problem they will approach our app to report. They will have two choices in reporting the problem, which is to call and wait for the assistance or to email. When they email they will have two choices, which is to report the problem only or to send us a complaint email with the report. When this is completed they will have to wait for the assistance.

Updating the software to the newest:

We require our users to have the newest software so that they we can fix bugs and alter the system. This is highly important that we provide this function to maintain our service. When our users log into the application they will be notified that there is a software update required. If the user decides to update the software users will wait for the update to complete. If they choose not to system will show a pop-up of the details that software update will provide, then they will be given another decision whether to update. If they choose not to the message will disappear but if they do choose to update, software will update automatically.

SYSTEMS TO ACHIEVE OUR FUNCTIONS: We require a strong three system that are needed in-order to achieve our main functions in maintaining our system. Three systems are the Application, reporting system (including call centre system), and the software update system. They are systems that we will require the most in managing the service after the sale.

CONCLUSION: In conclusion, we believe that our Smart Electricity Meter has a huge potential in the industry. The chance of succeeding is high if we implement the system urgently. From our research it is known that there is no other company that has the exact same functions and vision as our company. Therefore, if we are able to maintain the top performance and service of what we desire to achieve we will be successful and able to implement this software across the world.
