Introduction
This SATA to IDE adaptor is designed to provide an easy solution for D.I.Y users for connecting any existing 3.5 IDE hard drives or 5.25 ATA / ATAPI devices to the new Serial ATA bus, an ideal interconnect device for multimedia application. This SATA to IDE adaptor is compliant with Serial ATA (Generation 1) Specification with peak data transfer rate up to 1.5Gb/s (150MB/s) on the SATA side and is compatible with Ultra ATA133 on the PATA side.

HARDWARE INSTALLATION
Installation Tips For all existing 3.5 hard drives and 5.25 ATA / ATAPI devices, please make sure the jumper setting on the device is set to Master mode before connecting the SATA to IDE adaptor to the device. Do not set the jumper to Slave or Cable Select mode. Make sure to format your hard drive before connecting to the adaptor. Under certain circumstances, your operating system may not be able to detect unformatted hard drive through this adaptor.

WARNING If there is data stored in your hard drive, please make sure to backup all your existing data from hard drive before connecting the adaptor to the hard drive. Manufacturer is not responsible for data loss due to abuse, misuse, or neglect. Should you have any installation problem, please contact your dealer for assistance.

How to install the adaptor?

Connecting to a 3.5 Hard Drive

Connecting to a 5.25 ATA / ATAPI device Step 1. Align the SATA to IDE adaptors IDE connector to the IDE devices interface and gently push it in. Connect one end of the SATA cable to the SATA to IDE adaptor and the other end to the computer. If you have purchased the kit set, connect the DC12V to FDD / HDD power adaptor to the SATA to IDE adaptor and the IDE device. If you did not, you need to find another power source to connect the SATA to IDE adaptor and the IDE device. Finally, if your kit set come with a DC12V power supply, connect it to the DC12V to FDD / HDD power adaptor.
