Remembering the mission

Precious Filipino souls both young and old need to hear the law-free Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ! Catholic missionaries and colonisers from Spain came to the Philippines in the 16th century. Prior to Catholicism, Filipinos practiced animism and shamanism. Today, nearly 80% of the Filipinos practice various forms of Catholicism (ranging from traditional Roman Catholicism, folk Catholicism, Charismatic Catholicism, & Orthodox Catholicism). The earliest Baptist missionaries arrived in the Philippines around 1894-1900. Roman Catholicism had a three hundred year advantage and even today the work of reaching Filipinos with the Gospel is still a daunting task. Souls need to get saved!

Remembering the commission

Lito & Tess Bolano are amazing examples of true dedication. They travel no less than two hours (one way) to get to church week after week. They do this because they cannot find an Independent Baptist church in their city that is solid on music, dress, King James Bible, and preaching! Their dedication spurs me on! There are scores of believers in the Philippines that could use a solid, good old fashioned Independent Baptist Church! (photos were taken from my 2011 survey trip)

Unique modes of transportation

The Jeepney (above) and the Tricycle are two very indigenous modes of transportation in the Philippines. Transportation is a bit under-developed largely due to mountainous areas and scattered islands.

Remembering the team

Missionaries dont go to the mission field on their own. They are sent - sent by Gods ordained institution for ministry, the local church. Then, in Gods time, He enables many other supporting churches, institutions, & individuals to help the missionary in reaching people with the Gospel and establishing local and autonomous churches of like faith and practice. Deputation is a ministry whereby the missionary discovers the team that God has raised to meet the challenge of missions. We are so blessed to have a sending church like Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Brogue, PAa place our family gladly calls home! We also want to thank YOU! Thank you for praying. Thank you for giving. Ps. 18:32 - 34 It is God
that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect. He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places. He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms. Thank you for being a part of our
