READING 2.1.1 Able to recognise and articulate initial, medial and the final sounds in single syllable within given context: a) /a/ - (igh) b) // - (oa) 2.1.2 Able to blend phonemes into recognizable words and read them aloud. READING - Phonics BLENDING 2.1.1 Able to recognise and articulate initial, medial and the final sounds in single syllable within given context: a) /a/ - (igh) b) // - (oa) 2.1.2 Able to blend phonemes into recognizable words and read them aloud. Pupils are able to read blend the phonemes and say the words aloud. 1. Routine (5m) 1. Pupils identify/read the words with igh and oa sounds from the textbook. 2. Teacher segments the word into beginning, middle and final sound. 3. Pupils guess the words. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------4. Pupils play a card slot / competition - Pupils get into 2 groups. 5. Teacher picks a wordcard with igh / oa sound and segment them. 6. Pupils pick the phonemes and insert into the card slot 7. Pupild blend them together and say the word aloud. Note: teacher may say the words for the weak pupils

PUPILS ARE ABLE TO TELL THE DIRECTIONS TO SARA'S HOUSE USING A MAP. 1. Routine (5m) 2. Pupils study the map to get to Sara's house. 3. Pupils recall the terms used to tell directions - turn right/left , go straight. 6.
