I believe that English Language is an essential language that needs to be learnt by all the children of the world.

English Language is a language of the world and in this globalization children need to know this language for them to survive in this world. It is crucial and it is that need that often breaks most English teachers like me. Even though I have only been a teacher for a very short period of time but my teaching and beliefs in teaching has evolved and I have my passion in teaching have increased from the first day I became a teacher. I accordance to this beliefs I have a few thought of my own to accomplish. A safe, conducive and equip with facilities. hildren need routine and independent. Every child has potential. !eaching is not spoon"feeding but nurture. Learning is a caring and loving process. Learning take place when children are engage #otivated teacher get children motivated to learn Language acquisition is a natural process.

#y classroom is a safe place where my children grow and blossom. I allow my children to take responsibility to ensure that their classroom is always clean and beautiful. hildren need a conducive classroom to learn. I believe that learning happens best for students in a print"rich environment with the basic facilities fulfil. A room equip with enough tables and chair will definite comfortable for teaching and learning. $esides that, the weather in #alaysia is humid and dry though sometimes it is wet with the rainy seasons. It would also help the learning process if the class full with forty students could be equip with fans that actually work. I believe this element of education has been overlook but it actually affects the whole learning process. It is difficult to get the pupils to complete a task given if the pupils are sharing tables and sometime chairs. It would also be very uncomfortable for pupils to seat still in a very hot

afternoon classroom and this also contribute to many classroom management problems. I try to make my classroom as comfortable as possible to accomplish my goal. I have spent time with my pupils and their parents to decorate and improve our classroom. $esides making the classroom nice and decorative it contributes to make the classroom our and give a sense of ownership to the pupils. I believe the children need routine but they also need to be taught independent. hildren need routine to feel secure and safe. In my classroom, I set a few routine in order for the children to understand and feel comfortable. !he classroom rules and routines are set up with the children and they understand each one of the rules. $esides that my children will set the punishment if they break the rules and this is the off limits for my children. !his is also important for the children to begin their trust in me as their teacher and also in their classmates and their friends. It will also give them a sense of security because the children could predict the outcome of a certain behaviour. Each and every child in the world has the potential to contribute something unique to their country and the world. I believe that as a teacher I need to help these children develop their potential and nurture them to become capable individuals with their own personality and characteristic. I want to teach them to make mistake and to be accountable for their mistake. I want to be able to teach them to never give up even the odds seems leading towards failure. I want them to believe that nothing is impossible if they try. I want them to fail because failure will lead them to be a strong individual. I want them to love English because English is language that is foreign to them. As for me teaching is not only to educate literacy but it is also to promote positive behaviour. A child needs nurturing from a very young age to build a very positive characteristic or personality. In every lesson, I not only teach the te%tbook nor the syllabus but I embed it with values and thinking skills. I assist my children to see, to respect, to learn from others, to accept other uniqueness, to embrace our differences and also to belong as a family and a classroom. &evotion towards teaching does not mean that a teacher must teach 'spoon"fed( everything to ensure that the student would be able to pass the e%aminations but the acquisition of knowledge is totally different. A student need time to absorb information and the best way to absorb knowledge is to seek knowledge on their own. !hat is why for me I believe that the children have to be given the independent to learn. I allow my pupils to

decide what they want to learn and I also allow them to e%plore other topic that is not in the syllabus. I would provide them with a chance to discover the knowledge themselves by allowing them to search for answer and not to wait for my answers. !hey will be given roles to )udge their own presentation and evaluate their task. !hrough the years of my teaching I have learn teaching is also about caring and loving my pupils. I have first started teaching as an *I am the boss"teacher"no"nonsense teacher type+. I found that my pupils grow in fear of me rather than respecting me. !hey are quiet and they never question my authority. In the fear situation my pupils was not able to input any information in their minds. I found that they being afraid of English because of me and I started looking at my children as my own children and I started to care. !hat was when I found that my children really began to learn and began to en)oy learning. hildren are a person that plays a few roles in the community. !hey are students in school, they are also a son or a daughter, a friend, a brother and a sister and I realize that my pupils are human being that has need like any other adults. themselves and love for themselves. I bring a lot of energy to my class because I believe that it is important that the students are engaging with the teacher in order it to be a successful lesson. ,ositive energy will stimulate them to learn and it will get them e%cited to learn English language. I will give my children opportunity to participate in the lesson. I allow my children to take parts in the lesson, giving opinions and making decisions makes the lesson more meaningful for my children. $esides that, it also promotes continual learning as it will teach them to ask questions and also trigger their curiosity. I will guide my children to be leaders and I will make them feel capable. I believe that if my children feel that they are capable they will be very confident, fluent and most important independent. #y role as a teacher require me to guide and to be their mentor in a two way communication rather than to teach in a one way communication style. #otivation to learn is important for my children but is it also important that I have the motivation to teach. In order for me to keep on motivated and keep moving positively I ensure that I seek motivation form fellow teachers that are positive. I ensure I keep myself updated with English teacher around my area and I read books that will keep me motivated. I attend course to keep my professionalism. I have discovered that by sharing teaching and I respect my children, love and accept the as an individual. !eaching them has been easier for me and they have develops their confident of

learning e%perience with others could also help me with my children. $esides motivating me, I have gain many teaching activities and I could discover our similarities and diversity in teaching and learning. I believe language acquisition is a natural process. I cannot feed the knowledge 'vocabulary and grammatical( aspect of language to my children. A language is learnt naturally by children and also adults. !his is because English is a foreign language for them. It is my belief that for them to learn the language they must first be comfortable with the language. Language acquisition requires them to listen to the language before they could speak the language then read the language and lastly write the language. !hat is why I have place a lots of stress in fluency rather than accuracy. In order for me to get my children comfortable with English Language, I played lots of cartoon and songs with my children. I incorporated a lot of listening activities with my children and speaking activities with my children. I promote literacy through reading storybooks at home and after a task was done. I asses my children abilities not only through e%ams or test but I asses them when they take part in classroom activities. I also praise them for every little achievement or progress them have made. I also believe that teacher and parents should always communicate with each other. I make effort to have formal and informal conversation or discussion with parents and I try to involve parents as much as possible in the learning process. It is my belief that to mould children into a person requires as much learning at home 'in formal life education( as much as a formal education in school. It is the informal education that will either make or break the child. -inally for myself, I am an educator and I am passionate with teaching. #y hopes and dream as an educator is to instill love for learning and help develop my children to their fullest potential. I will share my passion for learning to my children and also to the community where I teach. I will strive to be the best educator, teacher and motivator to my children and help them to understand the need of education in this globalization era. I will also do the best I could to let my children see their future as a better person with knowledge and a person who will be able to speak for themselves and confident enough to live life to the fullest. #y hopes that my children will someday be able to see the world outside their kampong and they would not fear to take opportunity and take the step into a new world that are totally foreign to them. As for theie community, my hopes as an educator they would be

able to see how much education will benefit them. !eaching has taught me the meaning of learning. I have learnt from the children the meaning of appreciations, love and also determination. I have seen the innocence in their eyes the smile and )oy that they have show are overwhelmed. I think I could never forget the children lives that I have touched for they have touched my life. .e have fall, smile, laugh and cried together. As they grow older, I grow to be a better teacher as well and my )ourney in learning to be a better teacher has not end for learning is a lifelong process.
