The X Factor

Introduction
The X Factor is known as one of the most popular music competition fanchised of all the time created by Simon Cowell. It originated in England and now it is held in various countries such as USA, Australia, New Zealand, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Greece, Cyprus, India, Italy, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Russia, Chile, China,Germany,Hungary, Japan,Norway,Poland, Spain and of course Romania. X Factor was first broadcast on 4th September 2004 in UK. The first series of Xfactor was judged by Simon Cowell, Luis Walsh, Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue.

Competition Format
The show is mainly concerned with indetifying a potential pop star or start group with singing talent, appearance, personality, stage presence and dance routine. There are five stages to X Factor competition as follows: Stage 1 pre-auditions ( open auditions where producers decide who to perform in front of the judges) Stage 2- auditions (filmed auditions with the judges and a live audience) Stage 3- Eliminations Stage 4 Judges houses Stage 5- Live shows. The participants are split into three main categorie : solo singers aged 16-24, Solo singers aged 25 and over and Vocal Grups. Each live show has had a different theme by which contentant`s song was chosen . Once all the acts have performed , the viewing public can vote (by texting to the number which appear next to the contestants` names) for the act they want to keep on the show. So the person who numbered less public votes will be eliminated. The elimination continues untill the grand final show, when only three acts remain and the overall winner will be chosen by the public vote.

Why is X Factor so succesful?

The creators of the X Factor talent show understood something fundamental about the human condition,namely, to know what your target audience want and to provide that wish fulfillment as effectively as possible. X Factor succed to create and emotional connection with the audience by allowing anyone who wants, to become part of the show.

The show is also looking for candidates who can stand out from the crowd and have someting special to deliver to the audience. This can be anything from a specific personal singing style, distinct look , likeable personality or just beauty.

X Factor Romania
X Factor Romania is broadcast on Antena 1 channel.The competition is open for both solo artists and groups with no upper age limit. The original judging panel of series 1 condisted of Adrian Sana, Paula Seling, and Mihai Morar. On May 2013 it was announced that the original judging panel was changed with a more appealing to public personalities: Dan Bitman, Delia Matache and Cheloo. The hosts in all the series has been Razvan Simion and Dani Otil. The main sponsors of the program are Orange and Orbit Profesional.

Simon Phillip Cowell ( born 7 October 1959)

The founder of X factor, an English television music and talent competition judge and a very successful entrepreneur. He is well known as a talent judge on TV shows such as Pop Idol, The X Factor, Britain`s Got Talent and American Idol. He also owns the television production and music publishing house Syco. Personally, I like the way he judges the contestants. As a judge he is known for controversial criticisms and insults addressed to contestants` singing abilities, i would rather say a realistic judge. In 2004 and 2010 The American magazine Time named Cowell one of the 100 most influential people in the world; plus in 2010 Britis magazine New Statesman listed Cowell at number 41 in a list of The word`s 50 most influencial Figures 2010. However, TV Guide named him on top 10 of The 60 Nastiest Villains of All Times
