Fire Safe and Anti-Static Design for Slide Entry Floating Bore Ball Valves Design Feature
Fire Safe and Anti-Static Design Floating Ball Valve
a. Fire Safe Seat Sealing
floating ball valves fire safe is designed in accordance with API 607 & API SPEC 6FA. When non-metal resilient seats are destroyed in a fire, the upstream medium pressure push the ball into the downstream metal seat lip to cut off the line fluid and prevent the internal leakage due to a secondary metal-to-metal seals.
c. Anti-Static Device
The stem is designed with integral T-type shoulder to Antistatic devices between ball & stem and stem & body are provide blow-out proof effectively. It is internally inserted assembled by a spring & a stainless steel ball, which ensure as the backseat function to assure stem sealing safety at all all metal valve parts are grounding. pressures
Because of frequent opening and closing of the valve, normal graphite granule can be drawn by the stem, which will cause leakage. Lanus designed low emissions valve use special low emissions packing to ensure the seal of stem. The cone packing is made of expanding graphite in die-formed rings and has features of heat resistance, less stress relaxation and low creep. With this special structure, it allows for a low-friction on rotary & rising stem valve, therefore providing the stabilized sealing performance for long cycle life. For low temperature service, the standard V shape PTFE packing rings are used for low emissions control.

The operation torque data of soft seated floating ball valves in the following table are calculated based on normal temperature and clean medium. As selecting actuator, it is suggested that drive torque of actuator be more than 1.3 times the operation torque of ball valves at least in case of high temperature and low temperature working conditions or unclean medium, it is possible hat valve operation torque gets increased, which should be taken onto full consideration as selecting actuators. Operation torque for metal to metal sealed floating ball valve is about 4 time that of soft sealed floating ball valve.

For Reduces Port,Full Port series valves, Short and Long Body series valves, torque is the same. All valves are in normal temperature, with PTFE seat for Class 150~300 Lbs and Nylon seat for Class 600~1500 Lbs. For cryogenic ball valve, torque will be 2~2.5 times the above torque. . Torque shown in this table is to be used as a guide for actuator selection. A safety factor of 1.5 is recommended for actuator Torque may be changed according to different medium and trim material.
