WELCOME TO THE UTCC INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE AT UNIVERSITY OF THE THAI CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce has always played a signicant role in the grooming of talented students that will help to shape the economy of our country. The world economy has geared towards globalisation at a tremendous speed. Understandably, as we entered this era of dynamic development, we have to spearhead a restructuring programme that will elevate the university standard and be recognised as a leading university in business education in Asia. Globalisation, along with communication technology, has brought the world closer than ever before. Motivated by forces of internationalisation, our trade, industries, businesses and management now requires a labour force that is equipped with higher specialised skills. The diffusion of innovation in trade means that our students must understand more about foreign culture, customs, religion, languages and ideas so as to be ready for the real business world. It is therefore important that we foster an international environment within our university. UTCC is ready to welcome all of you with a promise of delivering an extraordianry experience and a touch of Thai hospitality. Sincerely yours, Jakarin Srimoon, Ph.D. Dean International College

WHY STUDY AT UTCC?

At the dawn of global economic recovery, businesses are striving not only to get back on their feet but also to increase their competitiveness while competition at all levels intensies. Globalization and new technologies have narrowed the whole world down to one mouse click or a complex network of optical bre employed to transfer digital data. They transcend all physical boundaries that once posed as challenges for those seeking to expand and shield for those in need of protection. Today, such boundaries have ceased to exist. Modern and advanced technology enabling e-commerce, e-business and e-transactions have enhanced well-established companies to expand beyond their national territories, threatening the survival of local businesses that are less prepared. Global markets and competition are now inevitable, if not already at our doorstep. With our expansive network with businesses worldwide and close link with the Thai Chamber of Commerce, UTCC is well equipped with all means necessary to provide education and training that gives business professionals, local and foreign, exactly what they need to make their companies expand internationally. STUDENTS VOICES

I decided to study at UTCC because I thought it would be a perfect chance for me to learn more about Eastern culture for doing business, which is really important considering the ASEAN fever. Here, I can study new languages like Thai and Portuguese (from my classmates) and improve my English language skills at the same time. Moreover, I can nd out a lot of interesting aspects about different cultures. Right now, UTCC International College has students from 22 countries. At UTCC, every day provides new experience, knowledge, and friends from all over the world.

I found great opportunities at UTCC, which is an ideal school to study about business and get real training for leadership skill by those great professors. From UTCC, I feel like I stepped on a new and higher stage to see the world with a wider view which I could have never seen before. UTCC is a place where we all should start with and prepare for our future career.

Puo Lin Tseng, Chinese Taipei

UTCC gives me a clear direction of my life to really focus on whats important to me. I am now empowered to become a bigger person for my family and my country.

Vasco Pereira dos Santos, Timor Leste

Charles Arthur Smith, United Kingdom

Gabriel Trevelin Lorena, Brazil

UTCC is the best place to study! In addition to courses, the programs at International College also provide opportunities for students to visit well-known businesses such as Amata Group and Srithai Superware. The schoolalso offers eld trips to places like Ayutthaya and Rayong so that the students can get to learn the history and cultures of Thailand as well as socialize and bond with other students. Such learning experience altogether makes students to really become extraordinary people because we get to learn not only from classes but outside of classes, too. More importantly, my overall experience at UTCC actuallychanges my perspective on business career. Before I came to study at UTCC, I did not like the word businessman. But after studying here, it really changes my mind and now I want to become a businessman and return to make contributions to my beloved country in the future.

The rst two years, I have been here have gone well. The teachers have all been good, and I have gained a lot from them. Once I have nished my studies here, I will be more than ready to go straight into the business world and do well.

UTCC is a place to improve your career opportunities, broaden your international experience, and gain exposure to other cultures. This institution empowers us to be who we really are and teaches us what really matters in our business and personal lives. UTCC also provides a plethora of events that allows students to connect and bond with each other. As a student at International College, I have friends from different parts of the world. On weekends, we often gather to enjoy what Bangkok and Thailand has to offer historic and tourist sites, beautiful beaches, and mountains. Overall, UTCC inspires us to serve the world with honor values and is a community where great leaders are created.

James Nyame Boateng, South Africa

My choice to study at UTCC was based on my research about the university as compared to other institutions in Thailand. First, UTCC is not only an affordable university but also a better education institution and a place to grow into the business world. It is a place to improve your career opportunities, broaden your international experience and gain exposure to other cultures as well.

The lecturers and professors at UTCC are great and classes are really fun. The students are also very open and sociable. You can easily build up a network of friends, both international and Thai, here at UTCC. When it comes to social interactions, cultural awareness and adaptation, it denitely has been quite a ride for me. Having the chance to get to know and hear different stories from different people from all over the world is truly fantastic!

Shahin Nazar, Holland, Bachelor of Business Administration

Although classes and teaching styles at UTCC are very different from the university back home, some of the classes are very interesting. Overall, I think the experience of living in a different country is really the best experience for anyone. By participating in this exchange program, I get to gain more knowledge and also learn how to cope with and adapt to other cultures.
