Loss of Control
Loss of Control refers to accidents resulting from situations in which the pilot should have maintained or regained aircraft control but did not. It is the number 1 cause of U.S. Airline fatal accidents.
The FAA published a bulletin encouraging simulator training in Loss of Control situations. The FAA will work with industry to encourage voluntary training for "Back to Basics" and preventing loss of control. There is initial agreement with industry for voluntary training of flight crews for enhanced situational awareness and loss of control before rulemaking is completed.

In addition to the safety benefits from fitting such a system, operators may be able to make a case for reduced training when an AWARE is system fitted to their aircraft.

recovery1 djg .rtf)
Advisory control actions (audio) given for recovery, these aid the crews situation awareness which together with the warning should lead to a quicker recognition of the situation and recovery to stable flight. The recovery actions are based on existing industry guidelines. (Boeing, AOPA, FSF)
