1.The story Snow White In earlier times there lived a , who named Snow White . He lived with his aunt and uncle because his parents died . One day she heard her uncle and aunt talking about leaving Snow White in the castle because they wanted to go to America and they did not have enough money to take Snow White with them . princess Snow White did not want her uncle and aunt to do this . So he decided to escape . The next day he ran away from home when her aunt and uncle were having breakfast , he fled into the wood . In the wood she felt very tired and hungry . Then she saw this cottage . She knocked but no one answered her so she went inside and felt asleep Meanwhile seven dwarfs came home from his work . They get into . There, they found Snow White woke up from his sleep . He saw the dwarfs . The dwarf said : " What is your name ? ' Snow White said , " My name is Snow White . " One dwarf said , " If you want , you can stay here with us . ' Snow White tells all about her story . Then daughter snow and the seven dwarves are now living happily ever after . 2.The Origin of the city Surabaya Once upon a time , there were two animals , Sura and Baya name . Sura is the name of the Beast is the Beast shark and Baya the crocodile . They live in the deep sea . After Sura and Baya were looking for some food . Suddenly, Baya see a nice goat . " Yummy is good , this is the most delicious lunch , " said Baya . ' No way ! This is my lunch . You greedy " Sura said . Later they fought for goats . Baya happy . named his final city of Surabaya . 3.The origin of the city of Banyuwangi Once Upon , there was a local ruler named King Sulahkromo thing . Prime Minister King has named Raden Sidopekso . Prime Minister 's wife has named Sri Tanjung . She is so beautiful and sweet that the king wanted her to be his wife . One day , the King sent the Prime Minister for long missions . While the Prime Minister went , the King tried to get Sri Tanjung . But the king failed .

He was very angry and upset . So , when Sidopekso back , the King told him that his wife was unfaithful to him . Prime Minister is very angry with his wife . Sri Tanjung said that was not true . However , Sidopekso said that he would kill her . She took him to the river bank . Before he killed him and threw him into the river , he said that he will be proven innocent Once Sidopekso kill him , he threw his body into the river dirty . River soon became clean and start spreading the wonderful aroma and very fragrant . Sidopekso said , " ... Banyu Wangi ... Banyuwangi " . It means ' fragrant water ' . Banyuwangi proof of love born of noble and sacred . that's the origin of the town of Banyuwangi . 4. The to be king poor monkey wants Once happy monkey dance at gatherings of animals, and they are all very pleased with his performance that they elected him their king. A Fox, envying him the honor, discovered a piece of meat lying in a trap, and leading the Monkey to the spot, said that he had found a shop in the woods, but do not use it, he had been saving for him as treasure trove of his kingdom, and counseled him to seize it . As well as gold coins began to disappear and the box is filled with the dead . 8..BAWANG MERAH AND BAWANG PUTIH STORY Bawang Putih lived with her step mother and her step sister, Bawang Merah. Bawang Putihs mother died when she was a baby. Her father remarried another woman and later her step sister was born. Unfortunately, not long after that her father died. Since then, Bawang Putihs life was sad. Her step mother and her step sister treated Bawang Putih badly and always asked her to do all the household chores. One morning, Bawang Putih was washing some clothes in a river. Accidentally, her mothers clothes were washed away by the river. She was really worried so she walked along the river side to find the clothes. Finally she met an old woman. She said that she kept the clothes and would give them back to Bawang Putih if she helped the old woman do the household chores. Bawang Putih helped her happily. After everything was finished, the old woman returned the clothes. She also gave Bawang Putih a gift. The old woman had two pumpkins, one pumpkin was small and the other one was big. Bawang Putih had to choose one. Bawang Putih was not a greedy girl. So she took the small one. After thanking the old woman, Bawang Putih then went home. When she arrived home, her step mother and

Bawang Merah were angry. They had been waiting for her all day long. Bawang Putih then told about the clothes, the old woman, and the pumpkin. Her mother was really angry so she grabbed the pumpkin and smashed it to the floor. Suddenly they all were surprised. Inside the pumpkin they found jewelries. Bawang Merah, hurry up. Go to the river and throw my clothes into the water. After that, find the old woman. Remember, you have to take the big pumpkin, the step mother asked Bawang Merah to do exactly the same as Bawang Putihs experience. Bawang Merah immediately went to the river. She threw the clothes and pretended to search them. Not long after that, she met the old woman. Again she asked Bawang Merah to do household chores. She refused and asked the old woman to give her a big pumpkin. The old woman then gave her the big one. Bawang Merah was so happy. She ran very fast. When she arrived home, her mother was impatient. She directly smashed the pumpkin to the floor. They were screaming. There were a lot of snakes inside the pumpkin! They were really scared. They were afraid the snakes would bite them. Mom, I think God just punished us. We had done bad things to Bawang Putih. And God didnt like that. We have to apologize to Bawang Putih, said Bawang Merah. Finally both of them realized their mistakes. They apologized and Bawang Putih forgave them. Now the family is not poor anymore. Bawang Putih decided to sell all the jewelries and used the money for their daily lives.**

9..THE LEGEND OF THE CANDY CANE A candy maker in Indiana wanted to make a candy that would be a witness, so he made theChristmas Candy Cane. He incorporated several symbols for the birth, ministry, and death of Jesus Christ. He began with a stick of pure white, hard candy. White to symbolize the Virgin Birth and the sinless nature of Jesus, and hard to symbolize the Solid Rock, the foundation of the church, and firmness of the promises of God. The candy maker made the candy in the form of a J to represent the precious name of Jesus, who came to earth as our Savior. It also represents the staff of the Good Shepherd with which He reaches down into the ditches of the world to lift out the fallen lambs who, like all sheep, have gone astray. Thinking that the candy was somewhat plain, the candy maker stained it with red stripes. He used the tree small stripes to show the stripes of the scourging Jesus received by which we are healed. The large red stripe was for the blood shed by Jesus on the Cross so that we could

have the promise of eternal life, if only we put our faith and trust in Him. Unfortunately, the candy became known as aCandy Cane a meaningless decoration seen at Christmas time. But the meaning is still there for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear. 10.The Legend Of Lake toba Once upon a time, there was a man who was living in north Sumatra. He lived in a simple hut in a farming field. The did some gardening and fishing for his daily life. One day, while the man was do fishing, he caught a big golden fish in his trap. It was the biggest catch which he ever had in his life. Surprisingly, this fish turned into a beautiful princess. He felt in love with her and proposed her to be his wife. She said; "Yes, but you have to promise not to tell anyone about the secret that I was once a fish, otherwise there will be a huge disaster". The man made the deal and they got married, lived happily and had a daughter. Few years later, this daughter would help bringing lunch to her father out in the fields. One day, his daughter was so hungry and she ate his fathers lunch. Unfortunately, he found out and got furious, and shouted; You damned daughter of a fish. The daughter ran home and asked her mother. The mother started crying, felt sad that her husband had broke his promise. Then she told her daughter to run up the hills because a huge disaster was about to come. When her daughter left, she prayed. Soon there was a big earthquake followed by non-stop pouring rain. The whole area got flooded and became Toba Lake. She turned into a fish again and the man became the island of Samosir. -The End-

1. My Best Friend, Haruka In Senior high school, I had best friend from Korea. Her name was Haruka. She was beautiful, smart, and low profile. For that many people loved her, included of me myself. It was because, even though she was from foreign country that considered by many students would be arrogant with students in my school, but Haruka was different. She was a good girl. I and Haruka became good friend each other. I was really glad in having friend like her. It was because even though she was from rich family and I was not from rich family. She wanted to have a friend like me. She wanted to share everything to me. So, did I. For the example, when she had something, like knowledge, foods, or even gift, she would give to me.

Then, I did the same thing like her, for the example if my mom made a food, traditional food, I would give that food also to Haruka. One day, I was invited by Harukas family to attend Harukas birth day. I came to Harukas house as shown in invitation card. I was very surprised when I looked the house of Haruka that was very luxurious, and beautiful. I felt afraid to enter Harukas house. For that, I only waited on the outside of Harukas house. I stood at fence. Then, seven minutes, I stood at fence. I saw Haruka went to out from her house. She came to me and she asked why I did not enter. I did not answer, I only smiled. Then, she said to me that her birthday would not be started without the existence of me. I was very touched in hearing that. I hugged her. Then, I and Haruka entered to Harukas house. Many guests looked at me and Haruka. Then, the party started. Before that, Harukas parents introduced me to the guests that I was the best friend for her daughter and Harukas family wanted me follow them to holiday in Korea next month. Many people gave applause to me and Harukas family. I was so touched. I felt to cry.I was fortunate having friend like Haruka, and knew Harukas family. 2. 5 Serangkai When I am sitting under mango tree alone, I remembered my good friends a long time ago. They were Tuti, Pipit, Nurul, and Siska. At the time, they were a friend who really loyal with their own friends. It could be known from their actions every day. For the example, we went to school, backed to school, played, and studied always together. Even though, we were not in the same class(e.g. I , Tuti, and pipit were on one class andNurul and Siska were different class with us), but we were so chummy. Even, many my other friends called us as 5 Serangkai.At the time, I and my friends went to school at 6 oclock in every day. It was caused by the distance between I and my friends to the school was so far. In addition, I and my friends might across river, might go around the forest to go the school. Nevertheless, I and friends did not feel tired to do that. We were very spirit full every day. If there was one of us did not meet one day. We would search our friend until we met her. One day, after I and my friends backed to school, at 13.00 oclock. We planned to study together in Tutis home especially under Tutis mango tree wh ich was very calm, and cool. In addition, under Tutis mango tree was prepared some benches. So that, it made all people felt enjoy when staying on this place. At 13.30 oclock all members of 5 Serangkai completed. I, Tuti, Pipit, Nurul, and Siska came on time. We never would be late,

except there was obstacle that disturbed us. At 13. 45, we started to study to discuss each other about the answer of our homework. Nevertheless, when we did not finish yet in answering our homework, there was event which happened to Tuti. Tuti had fallen to the ground from the bench that she sat. I, Pipit, Nurul and Siska were very shocked about it. Then, we all tried to make Tuti became conscious by giving the first aid. Nevertheless, God had another plan, Tuti backed to God. Tuti Died. We all were very sad. 3.My life was My Adventure I was one of students who liked an adventure. It could be proven from the extracurricular that I took in my school for the example hiking. I really liked in doing hiking especially to reach the top of mountain. Even though I did not reach yet the top of mountain, but I had passion on it. I like hiking to the top of mountain, it was because by this adventure, I could test my adrenalin. Then, it made me more realized how beautiful the creation of God was.In testing my adrenalin, I did any competition that was held by my school especially the competition which challenged my adrenaline. One day in that time, I followed one of competitions that were held by school that was climbing mountain side. This competition was followed by many participants. It consisted of 50 participants. Before starting this competition, there were some preparation that might be prepared by committee. For the example, they checked all participants especially participants health. This checking had function to identify whether the participants were suitable to follow this competition. Besides, checking all participants health, the committee also prepared some medicine, doctors, and safety tools to climb the mountain side. After finishing all requirements above, I was thankful for God. It was because I could follow the competition without any meaningful obstacle. Based on the result of health check of my body was so good. At 10.00 oclock, the competition of climbing the mountain side was started. In the beginning of this competition there was no meaningful obstacle. Everything worked well. Nevertheless, the time showed at 10:30, there was accident to one of participants. The name of the participants was Andi. When climbing the mountain side, his hand-grip toward the mountain side got loose. That condition made him could not maintain himself. Then, two expert climbers helped him. He was saving. Then, the competition was ended at 13:00 oclock and I was the 1st winner. I was so happy. 4.The Legend of Banyuwangi

Once upon a time, in eastern part of Java Island, there was a kingdom ruled by a king. The kings name was Prabu Menak Prakoso. One day, Prabu Menak and his soldiers invaded the kingdom of Klungkung in Bali. The king of Klungkung was killed, yet his daughter, Made Surati, and his son, Agung Bagus Mantra, were able to escape and hide in the jungle. Prabu Menak Prakoso had a son named Raden Banterang. He was such a handsome young man. One day, Raden Banterang went to the jungle for hunting. It was in the jungle that Raden Banterang met Made Surati. She was then taken to Blambangan to be his wife. Raden Banterang and Made Surati enjoyed a happy life in the Palace. When Raden Banterang was hunting one day, Made Surati was surprised by the arrival of a dirty beggar asking for her pity. The princess was surprised to find that the beggar was her older brother, Agung Bagus Mantra. She promptly squatted and embraced her brothers legs. However, her great respect of her brother was not well accepted. Instead, Agung Bagus Mantra asked his sister to kill Raden Banterang. But such a request was rejected. He was very angry with her and came up with a sly idea to slander her. Slowly but surely, Agung succeeded in convincing Raden Banterang that his wife had been involved in a scandal with another man. Asking for compassion, Made Surati tried to tell the truth and denied her husbands accusation. Hearing his wife explanation, the king became angrier and angrier. As a proof of her sacred love, she asked her husband to kill her. As her last request, she asked her husband to throw her dead body into the river. She said that if the water in the river smelled terrible, it meant that she had ever been sinful. But if it smelled fragrant, it meant that she was innocent. Raden Banterang who was unable to control his emotions soon stabbed his kers (dagger) into his wifes chest. She died instantly. The dead body of Made Surati was quickly thrown into the dirty river. Raden Banterang was shocked to see the river suddenly become clean and as clear as glass with a fragrant smell. Raden Banteraflll screamed crazily and regretted his deed. He walked unsteadly and fell into the river screaming, Banyu Wang Banyuwangi! This means fragrant water. Banyuwangi was born from the proof of noble and sacred love. From then on, the place is called Banyuwangi. 5.The Legend of Malin Kundang Once Upon a time, lived a diligent boy named Malin Kundang. He lived in the seashore with his mother. They were very poor, but they lived quiet and harmonious. One day, a big ship closed to the beach near their village. They asked peoples to join work in their ship and went to the cross island. Malin Kundang wanted to join with them because he wanted to improve his familys life. But his mother didnt permit him. She worried to Malin. Malin still kept his argument and finally he sailed with the bigship. Several years later, Malin Kundang succed and he became rich trader. Then, he came to his native village with his beatiful wife, but his wife didnt know Malins real descent. His happy mother quickly approached Malin and brought a plate of village cake, Malins Favorite. But

Malin didnt admit that woman as his poor mother, and then he kicked the village cakewhich brought by his mother until scattered. His mother very broken heart because MAlin rebellious to her, who had growth him. Then, his mother cursed Malin became stone. Suddenly, the bigship which Malins had was vacillated by a big storm and all of his crewman tossed aside out. Malin realized that was his fault that rebellious his mother. He bowed down and became a stone. 6. VACATION TO LONDON Mr. Richards family was on vacation. They are Mr. and Mrs. Richard with two sons. They went to London. They saw their travel agent and booked their tickets. They went to the British Embassy to get visas to enter Britain. They had booked fourteen days tour. This includes travel and accommodation. They also included tours around LondonThey boarded a large Boeing flight. The flight was nearly fourteen hours. On the plane the cabin crews were very friendly. They gave them news paper and magazine to read.They gave them food and drink. There was a film for their entertainment. They had a very pleasant flight. They slept part of the way. On arrival at Heathrow Airport, they had to go to Customs and Immigration. The officers were pleasant. They checked the document carefully but their manners were very polite. Mr. Richard and his family collected their bags and went to London Welcome Desk. They arranged the transfer to a hotel. The hotel was a well-known four-star hotel. The room had perfect view of the park. The room had its own bathroom and toilet. Instead of keys for the room, they inserted a keycard to open the door. On the third floor, there was a restaurant serving Asian and European food. They had variety of food. The two week in London went by fast. At the end of the 14-day, they were quite tired but they felt very happy. 7.My Football Experience When I was in junior high school, I really loved football. Every Saturday afternoon I practiced in school field with my team and my coach. They were strong and smart players. My coach, Mr. Santana was a kind person. But, while he was coaching us, he was very discipline. He would grounded anyone who came late and not obeyed the teams rules. With Mr. Santana, our team won many tournaments in many big cities. Our team named after our school, 67 Team (from SMP 67) and we had many fans too, you know. Oh, that was so cool. Now, I still love football and have a team too. But, my parents warn me to pay attention more to my study, football just for hobby. 8.My Holiday in Bali When I was 1st grade of senior high school, my family and I went to Bali. We were there for a three days. I had many impressive experiences during the vacation. First day, we visited Sanur Beach in the morning. We saw the beautiful sunrise together. It was a great scenery. Then, we checked in to the hotel. After prepared our selves, we went to Tanah Lot. We met

so many other tourists there. They were not only domestic but also foreign tourists. Second day, we enjoyed the day on Tanjung Benoa beach. We played so many water sports such as banana boat, jet sky, speedboat etc. We also went to Penyu island to see many unique animals. They were turtles, snakes, and sea birds. We were very happy. In the afternoon, we went to Kuta Beach to see the amazing sunset and enjoyed the beautiful wave. The last day, we spent our time in Sangeh. We could enjoy the green and shady forest. There were so many monkies. They were so tame but sometimes they could be naughty. We could make a close interaction with them. After that, we went to Sukowati market for shopping. That was my lovely time. I bought some Bali T-Shirt and souvenirs. In the evening, we had to check out from the hotel. We went back home bringing so many amazing memories of Bali. 9.My Best Friend My name is Ari. Three years ago when I was in junior high school, I met two people that later became my best friends. The first one was Eric. He was an athlete for our school. He was tall and muscular. The other one was Ricky. He was a very diligent student. He liked to read the encyclopedia and he the ranked first in my class. I liked them both because they were very friendly to other people. Even though Eric and Ricky were very famous in our school, they were not arrogant. They made friends with anybody including me. 10. Sally Sally was nineteen years old. She had always lived with her parents, but now the time had come for her to go to university in another part of the country to study to be a doctor. Her mother was very sad about this, and she was also afraid, because she loved her daughter very much, and she thought, "My little girl will be alone for the first time in her life. She won't know anybody. There will be nobody to look after her, and perhaps she will have trouble, or she will be very sad because she isn't with us." Sally said goodbye to her father and to her cat, and promised to telephone every week. Then her mother took her to the university by train. When they said goodbye, her mother cried, and on the way back home she cried again. Then every week Sally kept her promise and telephoned, they talked for several minutes, and Sally was always very happy and never said that she missed her parents. Her mother was not glad about this. She thought, "Perhaps she's finding the university nicer than her home." But then some holidays were getting near. That week, when Sally telephoned her parents, she said, "The students who live here were talking yesterday evening, and they said, We're very happy that we're going to return home again soon for a few days.'" Sally's mother was very glad that the students had said this."She must really miss us," she thought. Then she said, "And did you say that too?"."Oh, yes!" Sally answered. "We all said that it's easy to speak to our parents on the telephone every week when we're away, but we really miss our pets!"
