history of Calculators You must already be familiar with a tool called a calculator .

Calculator is a tool are relatively small but have a huge benefit in doing the calculations , both ordinary calculation , accounting calculations and statistical calculations . Do you know how the history of these calculators ? Let us refer to the story below ..

Around 5000 years ago , a traditional calculators and mechanical calculator , Abacus , appeared in Asia Minor . Well , in an era that is considered as the beginning of a computing machine . Abacus allows users to perform calculations using sliding grains arranged on a shelf . Along with the emergence of a pencil and paper , especially in Europe , Abacus lost its popularity .

In 1642 , Blaise Pascal who at that time was 18 years old , found what he called a numerical wheel calculator to help his father make tax calculations . This tool uses eight named Pascaline serrated wheel to add numbers up to eight digits .

In 1694 , a German mathematician and philosopher , Wilhelm von Leibniz Gottfred improved the Pascaline by creating a machine that can multiply . Just as the Pascaline , a mechanical tool also works by using the wheels serrations .

In 1820 , Charles Xavier Thomas de Colmar find a machine that could perform the four basic arithmetic functions , addition, subtraction , multiplication , and division . With the invention of a tool called arithometer this , the mechanical calculator was gaining popularity at the time . With his ability and also more practical than the previous calculator , arithometer widely used until World War I. In 1892 William Burroughs , a former teller , introduces a fairly successful printing calculator powered hand though .

In the next period , some engineers still continue to develop other inventions . In 1903 , John V. Atanasoff and Clifford Berry tried to make a computer that uses Boolean algebra , a mathematical calculation that can be expressed as true or false .

In 1931 , Vannevar Bush created a calculator to solve differential equations . The machine can complete the calculations which have been considered complicated . The machine is very large and heavy as hundreds of teeth and shaft needed to perform calculations .

In 1935 , a German construction engineer named Konrad Zuse built a mechanical calculator to handle the math calculations in his profession . Shortly after his success , Zuse began construction on a programmed electronic equipment which he completed in 1938 .

Currently , you are able to use a calculator in the form that is simpler and easier to carry. We should be grateful to the inventors , because thanks to them we can calculate mathematically a variety of things and also easier .
