ACS Minority Scholars Program ACS awards renewable scholarships to underrepresented minority students who want to enter the fields of chemistry or chemistry-related fields. Awards are based on academic standing, financial need, career objective, leadership skills, and involvement in school activities and community service. If you are an African American, Hispanic, or American Indian high school senior or college freshman, sophomore, or junior pursuing a college degree in the chemical sciences or chemical technology, you may be eligible. Affinity Plus Since the Affinity Plus Foundation was founded in 2000, it has taken significant strides toward improving financial literacy throughout the state of Minnesota. Each year a total of five $5,000 scholarships will be awarded to freshman, upperclassmen, nontraditional and graduate students. All applicants must be primary members of Affinity Plus. American Indian College Fund Partnerships with corporate and private donors have introduced a category of special scholarships that are being offered to American Indian students attending Mainstream Colleges or Universities across the U.S. These scholarships are administered by the Fund and are generally based upon merit and demonstrated financial need. Continuing GMS Scholars may request funding for a graduate degree program in one of the following discipline areas: education, engineering, library science, mathematics, public health or science. The goal of GMS is to promote academic excellence by providing thousands of outstanding students, who have significant financial need, the opportunity to reach their full potential. Eligibility: Students are eligible to be considered for a GMS scholarship if they: are African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American, are a citizen/legal permanent resident or national of the United States, have attained a cumulative GPA of 3.3 on a 4.00 scale (unweighted) at the time of nomination, will be entering a U.S. accredited college or university as full-time, degree seeking freshmen, have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular or other activities, and meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria. General Board of Higher Education and Ministry The United Methodist Scholarship Program is a church-wide educational service providing scholarships to help supplement the financial needs of todays students. Funding for these scholarships is provided through Special Sundays Offerings, wills, annuities and other designated gifts. Students need to complete only one application each year. Applications are reviewed by members of the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry (GBHEM) and other affiliated representatives. Scholarship applications are accepted January 1 April 15 each year. Awards are determined by July. James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation Junior Fellowships awarded to students who are about to complete, or have recently completed, their undergraduate course of study and intend to pursue full-time graduate work. Senior Fellowships awarded to experienced teachers who want to pursue graduate studies on a part-time basis through summer and evening classes. The fundamental objective of METs migrant and seasonal farm worker program is permanent unsubsidized employment in an occupation that pays a sustainable wage and allows the individual to advance in both earnings and responsibility as the clients tenure and skill set increase. Minnesota GI Bill The Minnesota GI Bill provides financial assistance to Minnesota veterans and service members who served on or after September 11, 2001. Full-time undergraduate or graduate students may be eligible to receive up to $1,000 per term and part-time students can receive up to $500 per term. Navy Baccalaureate Degree Program Provides qualified students who meet the Navys physical requirements with funds to help complete their education and truly focus on their education. The Point Foundation The Point Foundation is the first and only nationwide LGBT scholarship organization that focuses exclusively on granting assistance to undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate students of distinction. The Point Foundation provides financial support, mentoring and hope to meritorious students who are marginalized due to sexual orientation, gender expression or gender identity.
