Introduction

A waterflooding model for West Sak reservoir has been developed using a vertical injector and a horizontal well. The horizontal well has 2 laterals one in sand B and other in sand D. Data has been taken from AOGCC website, one petro papers, DOE website and MS thesis of UAF students. The lowest rate is 12850 ft3/day. Fig: Bottom hole fluid rate for producer

The lowest rate is 1340 bbl/d

Conclusion:
The work done until now concurs with the fact that this project was not economical. The oil production starts to decrease after just one year and declines to almost 1 bbl/d in a span of 2 years. The production profile also matches with the original production profile; it can be observed that during the initial stages a very high oil rate is obtained. Once a peak is achieved, the oil rate starts to decrease and falls to zero. Next step would be to do a CO2 injection in the field. Once CO2 model is developed, geomechanics can be coupled with the model to predict the sand behavior. And based on the difference in production a completion strategy can be defined.
