All life is sacred so assisted dying is wrong. Discuss this statement.

You should include different support points and a personal viewpoint. You must refer to Christianity.
This statement is quite supportive of a Christian point of view of death. Christians have many references in the bible which emphasise that life is Gods gift, Genesis 1 shows that god created all life so therefore it is only for God to take away life. Many biblical beliefs such as the sixth commandment where it states do not murder and Gods spirit lies within people so ending a human life is destroying gods people. Voluntary euthanasia is a very complex matter in the world of Christianity where some may be against the act whereas others supporting the passive act of it. Roman Catholics, another sect in Christianity explain that euthanasia is a grave violation of the law of God they believe that nothing or no one can in anyway permit the killing of innocent human beings. The Reasons behind Catholic beliefs on Euthanasia are that it overlooks the sanctity of life You are playing the role of God by choosing who dies and when, In his hands is the life of every living thing and the breath of every human being Job 12:10 It is taking a life regardless of it being permitted All life is sacred and important, and should be protected and respected at all times Many people may disagree from Christian viewpoints where it is medically possible to keep people alive where death might have otherwise have brought them relief from intolerable suffering. Christians may argue that its an imperative and duty of state to protect the interest of the most vulnerable therefore making death the best option rather than painful survival, these decisions should be made in circumstances involving more than one medically qualified person.

Voluntary Euthanasia may be preferred by an Atheist due to the fact every person should have the right to decide whether they want to live or not as it is their life. Some atheists may disagree because opening the doors to voluntary euthanasia could lead to non-voluntary and involuntary euthanasia, by giving doctors the power to decide when a patients life is not worth living. In the Netherlands in 1990 around 1,000 patients were killed without their request. Muslims are also against euthanasia. They believe that all human life is sacred because it is given by Allah, and that Allah chooses how long each person will live. Human beings should not interfere in this. Assisted dying as a law in the UK is Euthanasia is the act of deliberately ending a person's life to relieve suffering. This is classed as illegal in the country and cannot take place. Overall I believe voluntary euthanasia should not be permitted due to the fact it could lead to many unforeseen deaths and god has given life where it should be cherished despite the circumstances. I think voluntary euthanasia should only be permitted if the person has signed a treaty before death which then can be used to allow an assisted death causing no troubles of suicide or murder.
