WATER BAPTISM. : WATER BAPTISM.

Question: I need to know if you have to be baptized to go to heaven. I love God and was baptized when I was seven years old. I am now eighteen years old, and someone from a non-denominational church told me that no one can be saved and baptized at such a young age. They also said that you have to be baptized to go to heaven, but my Baptist family said that you dont. I just want to go to heaven. I am living for God in every way that I can, but I need to know if I must b e baptized again now that I am supposedly of age to be baptized. Please help me ASAP. God bless and thanks. : Question: I need to know if you have to be baptized to go to heaven. I love God and was baptized when I was seven years old. Three Baptisms for Believers:1. Into Christ or into His body at repentance and the new birth (pt. 6, above). Called "one baptism" (Ephes. 4:5), because it is the only baptism that saves the soul and brings into the body of Christ.2. Water baptism after one is saved (pt. 5, above and note, Matthew 3:11).3. Spirit baptism, the enduement of power for service. It can take place before water baptism (Acts 10:44-48) or after it (Acts 1:4-8; Acts 2:1-11; Acts 8:12-21; Acts 19:1-7).The Holy Spirit is the agent to baptize into Christ and into His body (1 Cor. 12:13); Christ is the agent to baptize in the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:11; John 1:31-33); and the minister is the agent to baptize into water (Matthew 28:19). : Three Baptisms for Believers:1. All New Testament believers were immediately baptized as they put their faith in Jesus as Lord, Messiah and Saviour. All the apostles and disciples immediately baptized their converts never questioning it as being a work of the law. This is also true of the apostle Paul who establishes the fact of salvation by grace through faith without works (Acts 19:4-5). : All New Testament believers were immediately baptized as they put their faith in Jesus as Lord, Messiah and Saviour. The practice of many Christians today is "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ" and when it is convenient and we can get enough people together we will have a baptismal service and then later on as you grow in the Lord, there is another experience we will tell you about called the baptism with the Holy Spirit. In the early New Testament church there was not time period between these experiences, at the most, a time period of a few days and in most cases not even a period of hours. : The practice of many Christians today is "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ" and when it is convenient and we can get enough people together we will have a baptismal service and then later on as you grow in the Lord, there is another experience we will tell you about called the baptism with the Holy Spirit. WORD STUDY.BAPTISM, BAPTIST, BAPTIZE it is not actually an English word, but a Greek word written in letters of the English alphabet. If we write out the Greek in English letters, this gives us "baptizo." Then with a change of the "o" to an "e," we have the word "baptize." 1. baptisma . "baptism," consisting of the processes of immersion, submersion and emergence (from bapto, "to dip"), is used (a) of John's "baptism," (b) of Christian "baptism," (c) of the overwhelming afflictions and judgments to which the Lord voluntarily submitted on the cross, e. g., <Luke 12:50>; (d) of the sufferings His followers would experience, not of a vicarious character, but in fellowship with the sufferings of their Master. If Jesus needed to be anointed, how much more do we (Lu 24:49 with Ac 1:8 and 2:1-4)?Andrew Wommack's When Jesus was baptized of John he gave the reason for this act as "to fulfill all righteousness" (Mt. 3:15). Jesus was already righteous, but through this act he fulfilled or completed the righteousness that he already had in his heart. This results in making Jesus the Lord of our lives and committing ourselves to Him as the only one that can save us (Rom. 10:9-10; Mt. 1:21; Mk. 16:15-16;Acts 8:36-37). : requirements of those desiring baptism? There are only two reasons people are not baptized immediately when putting faith in Jesus Christ as Lord: (1) Ignorance. The lack of proper instruction. This can be corrected in a matter of moments by going to the scriptures. (2) Those being cut off. That is for example, someone in the hospital that has just put faith in Jesus as their Lord but dies without the opportunity to express that faith by water baptism. [4] Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. [5] When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. [6] And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. [7] And all the men were about twelve. THESE PEOPLE WERE ALREADY DISCIPLESSAVED

Did forgiveness of sins happen at the time of baptism Acts 2:38 ; Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. The answer to this problem is found in this verse in the little word "for." The Greek word that was translated "for" in this verse is "eis" and can mean "because of, as a result of, since" or it can also mean "so as to obtain."there are two examples of different groups of people being born again before they were baptized in water; therefore, water baptism cannot be a requirement in order to obtain salvation. It, therefore, must be an action that comes"because of, as a result of, or since" the remission of sins. It is an act of obedience which only a person who is already born again can perform (Ac 8:36-37).Water baptism is an outward show of an inward change. It has great benefit as an action that resists the devil, and as a witness that identifies us as one with Christ, but it CANNOT FORGIVE SINS, CANNOT SAVE. : Did forgiveness of sins happen at the time of baptism Acts 2:38 ; Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. [for] Greek: eis because of remission of sins. When one repents, which is always required in Scripture before baptism, he is immediately forgiven (1 John 1:9; Romans 10:9-10). Only then is one a proper candidate for water baptism which is an outward symbol of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ (1 Peter 3:21). It testifies to the world that one has already repented and been forgiven by faith in Christ (Ephes. 2:8-9; Romans 1:16; Romans 3:24-25; Romans 5:1). ONLY THE BAPTIZED WILL BE SAVED ?.Mark 16:16; He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damnedJesus did not say that he that does not become baptized will be damned.the first part of this verse does stress the importance of water baptism. It is an act of obedience. Those who profess Christ should obey His commands. Anyone who knows of the command to be water baptized and willfully refuses to do so should be suspect as to whether they truly believed. But salvation can occur without being water baptizedex; 1.Cornelius and his friends were filled with the Holy Ghost and spoke in tongues before they were baptized in water (Ac 10:44-48). Joh 14:17 ecords Jesus as saying that unbelievers cannot receive the Holy Ghost .so Cornelius and his friends must have been born again before their water baptism2. Paul re-baptized them with Christian baptism, and then they received the Holy Ghost. Water baptism is the sign of the New Covenant in the same way that circumcision was the sign of the Old Covenant. The Apostle Paul made it very clear in Ro 4 that although Abraham was circumcised, his circumcision was only a sign. Abraham was justified in the sight of God before his circumcision. Paul went on to state in Ga 5:1-6 that those who trust in circumcision are fallen from grace; Christ will profit them nothing.Circumcision was a command of God that had to be kept (Ge 17:9-14), yet Abraham was justified over thirteen years before he was circumcised (Ge 15:6 with 17:23-26). Likewise, water baptism is a command, but keeping this command does not produce justification.Jesus administered forgiveness of sins without any mention of water baptism (Mt 9:2; Lu 7:48, 50, 18:14, 19:9, and 23:43), as did Peter (Ac 3:19-4:4) and Paul (Ac 13:38-43 with 1Co 1:13-17).Philip told the Ethiopian eunuch, who asked Philip to baptize him, that if he believed with all of his heart, he could be baptized (Ac 8:37). Philip used water baptism only after an individual had already believed. Men have been baptized in the Holy Spirit before water baptism(Acts 9:17; Acts 10:44-48; Acts 11:14-18; Acts 15:7-11). Christ was baptized in water without forgiveness of sins (Matthew 3:15-17). This water could be speaking of the Word of God (Joh 15:3; Eph 5:26; Jas 1:18; 1Pe 1:23) or the natural birth of a baby.
