Sumadi explained that past generations of Balinese possessed local wisdom known as Tri Hita Karana; understanding the need to maintain their position in the cosmos by always considering natural and religious law in their daily activities in matters affecting the environment, the relationship with society and their spiritual connection to the Almighty. Sumadi said that the promotion of cultural tourism was stipulated in Provincial Law Number 3 of 1991 on Cultural Tourism and the Tourism Law Number 10 of 2009. The laws and regulations are very clear in championing cultural tourism as a central theme of Indonesian tourism development both on a provincial and national level. www.balidiscovery.com

Cultural Tourism, Where for Art Thou?

As quoted in the National News Agency Antara, Sumadi, who heads the post-graduate program in religious studies at IHDN. s a i d : T h e development is h a p p e n i n g because of the increasingly rapid rate of tourism development. T h e r e s p e c t e d academic said Bali's appeal as a tourism destination is happening in concert with its hosting of a number of conferences and meetings on the Island. The problem now is to determine who is making the greatest contribution to safeguard the image and spirit of our natural inheritance handed down from our ancestors, he added.

A man accused of texting an unsolicited picture of his tattooed genitals to a married mother of young children did not commit a crime under a Georgia state nudity law, the state's Supreme Court ruled.
Charles Lee Warren faced up to three years in prison after being indicted under a 1970 Georgia law that makes it illegal to send unsolicited nude photographs by mail without a proper warning on the outside of the envelope. Prosecutors said he texted the picture of his tattooed penis to a woman who then complained to police. According to prosecutors, Warren's genitals were tattooed with the phrase, "STRONG E nuf 4 A MAN BUT Made 4 A WOMAN."

"We respectfully accept the decision of the Georgia Supreme Court," Cherokee County District Attorney Shannon Wallace, whose office prosecuted the texting case, said in a statement. The defendant's attorney, Donald Roch, also challenged the law on the ground that it violated his client's First Amendment guarantee of free speech, but the court did not address that constitutional issue. "Obviously, we're pleased with the ruling," Roch said.

BALI THE RIGHT WAY

Gday again punters and welcome to the latest on the streets of good old down town Bali, which it seems are about as quiet as you can get at the minute. I have done a few quick wiz around and seriously Im thinking the small to medium business player must be feeling the first knuckle with the business conditions being as slow as they are. Some I think have advanced to the second knuckle which no-one likes and are doing it really hard and needless to say the ones that are complaining about how bad things are, seem to be the busiest in town.

Case against tattooed genitals dismissed

aliasj@kutaweekly.com

Now there are a few places in town that just cant seem to put a foot wrong with a steady increase each month in sales and the only complaint that is generally heard from these people is about staff or the lack there of. Staffing is definitely an issue on the island with this little newspaper for example employing six people on a full time basis, with the need for more, not able to be satisfied with locally available talent. Of course the powers that be could probably go and get a drunken beer swilling crook with a back ground in crime to do specific tasks, but I would suggest the chief might have something to say about that being that the industry we run in is a heavily controlled one. The fact is when you are a, fully legal, licenced, tax paying business in Indonesia you really do have a commitment to do what you say you will and provide a service that you say you will provide. Anyone can try to walk the walk, but at the end of the day, can they walk the walk. For the most of the businesses that are running on the island and have been for more than four or five tax returns, things are looking good as in real terms the climate for business growth with relation to established operations is a rather interesting forward view. The governent of Indonesia and the government in Australia have hooked together in several different ways, one being to help direct business in the correct management in respective countries. This has a double edge effect in so far as it make the expat Australian, that may be behind any business in Indonesia, completely culpable and directly responsible for any wrong doing, tax evasion, employee exploitation at a government level both in Indonesia and in Australia. It is a fantastic thing and will help weed out the business operations that hide behind unsuspecting Indonesian signatures. This is all happening for a reason and the one that comes to mind first for me is that many expats come here and completely exploit the system and generally get away with it. I for one applaud the powers that be in both countries for working together to stamp this practice out and am always happy to see something that helps to make Bali that much better again. It will be a funny day when these operations are exposed and start running back home to land fair and square, smack dab in the centre of what they thought they could escape. It is only a matter of time. Ok folks moving along, I will draw your attention to one of our biggest and longest supporters to the paper being Moo Moos Steakhouse bar & Grill As we all know by seeing the adverts that the owner runs with us each week, he is without a doubt a crazy N.R.L fan and will show all games live every week, week in, week out, for the entire season. He has the biggest television screen inside a restaurant in Kuta and a sound system that will rival any dance club for clarity and sound quality and in actual fact, it is about as close as you can get to being at the game when you are siting in the place. Anyways, on the 6th of March he has thrown the hat down and asked me to invite all and sundrie for the season opener, not just for the N.R.L. but for the A.F.L as well. He is throwing the Bintangs out the door for 10,000 each, yes folks that's right 10 thousand rupiah for a cold, small green bottle during the games, which is unheard of as they cost him more than that without refrigeration or any service. He tells us that he is aiming to keep the title of the Home Of N.R.L. In Bali and wants everyone to head down and kick off the season with a few cold ones for Thursdays starting round. Please don't forget to pencil it into your schedule, Thursday the 6th March at Moo Moos. Ok folks I rekn that's about all we have time for this week so I will let you all trip on and enjoy the week ahead. I hope the most of you stay safe, happy, healthy and always try to remember, Being honest might not get you a lot of friends, but it will get you the right ones, Enjoy Your week. ALIASJ.

The Georgia Supreme Court said the state law did not cover photos sent electronically through a cell phone text message, and justices dismissed the criminal charge in a unanimous decision. Legislation proposed last year to amend the law to include pictures transmitted electronically did not pass, according to Georgia

Governor Pastika Offers Advice to Balinese Working Abroad
In response to the arrest and subsequent confession of a Balinese crewmember on to assault, rape and attempted murder against a female passenger on Holland's America Nieuw Amsterdam cruise ship, Bali governor Made Mangku Pastika says case surrounding Kutut Pujayasa (28) does not automatically reduce the image of Balinese working as ship's crew. Quoted by the State News Agency Antara, Pastika said: The Indonesian workers abroad are counted in the thousands, if one behaves in this way, that's human nature. This can happen to anyone. Pastika's comments were made at his monthly open house held on Saturday, February 22, 2014. The Governor said the case surrounding Pujayasa will not necessary influence foreign cruise companies' readiness to employ Balinese crewmembers.

Reflecting on the situation facing Pujayasa, Pastika reminded the Balinese working overseas to avoid drunkenness, gambling, lewdness and fighting during their overseas assignments. Adding, If our Balinese sons and daughters working on ships get involved with drinking and gambling, they will have no savings when they leave the ship. Speaking to Balinese presently working overseas, Pastika said: Remember that you have families you have left back home. The cost of going overseas was not small, causing some of you to borrow against your rice fields.

I wouldn't change a thing: Adelaide coach

Adelaide 36ers coach Joey Wright says he wouldn't change a thing about his involvement in a fiery NBL fracas.
But Wright says he hates that the melee happened, and is now trying to forget all about Perth Wildcats assistant coach Adam Tatalovich. Wright and Tatalovich were found not guilty by the NBL judiciary on Monday after being charged for their roles in the scuffle after the February 14 clash of the competition pacesetters in Perth. "I hate that it happened but I don't think I would change anything," Wright told reporters on Tuesday. "We are playing a competitive sport and when the sport stops, sportsmanship starts. And there is no need to try and intimidate someone physically." Wright was cleared of a striking charge and Tatalovich was exonerated of two charges making physical contact with the for his judiciary hearing, with the initial hearing scheduled for last Friday postponed because a judiciary member was unavailable. "I thought it would go the way it did, to be honest with you," Wright said of his hearing. "I was happy just to get it out the way and get it out of the public's eye and get back to doing what I like to do best." The ladder-leading Wildcats next meet second-placed Adelaide on March 14, the last round before the finals. But Wright said there was no lingering ill feeling, saying Wildcats coach Trevor Gleeson was a close friend. "I talked to him a couple of hours after the incident and the next day as well. There is no angst or animosity there at all," Wright said. Trevor and me have been friends for a long time. Trevor lived with me for six months in the US at one time. So we're good friends and we'll continue to be."

Tom Mitchell, Rhyce Shaw and Sam Reid, all returning from injury, will also get the chance to log some game time on Thursday, as will rookie defender Xavier Richards. Both clubs were found guilty of breaching the NBL's code of conduct, though avoided immediate sanction - the league fined each club $5000, then suspended the penalty for 12 months. New-look Cats for 2014 AFL season

club has to come first." On-ballers Joel Selwood, Geelong fans will need to get The rugged Chapman has Steve Johnson, James Kelly and used to the sight of club greats running around in always been a fan favourite at Jimmy Bartel are four of the Geelong, but the recent season- remaining six triple-premiership unfamiliar colours in 2014. Coach Chris Scott readily acknowledges there will be plenty of Geelong people having a hard time watching Cats premiership heroes run around in unfamiliar colours this season. For what it's worth it won't be easy f o r S c o t t e i t h e r, s e e i n g P a u l C h a p m a n i n Essendon's red and black or James Podsiadly in the Adelaide strip. The Cats have done an outstanding job staggering the departure of their ageing stars in the last seven years while remaining at the pointy end of the AFL ladder. It's just that with the advent of free agency, the likes of Chapman, Podsiadly and Josh Hunt (Greater Western Sydney) have a better chance of one last hurrah, rather than just fading away. Not to mention the trading of 2011 flag-wining ruckman Trent West to Brisbane and the retirement of midfield great Joel Corey. "You need to keep one eye on the big picture and the number of players who are going to leave your list at the end of any one year," Scott told AAP. "But that's secondary to treating every player as an individual. "We would like to think we've been very respectful of our senior players and we will continue to do so. "But doing what we think is in the best long-term interests of the ending knee injury suffered by luckless ruck-forward Nathan Vardy means the loss of West and Podsiadly may be even more keenly felt by the football department. While former steeplechaser players still on the club's list and the other two - Andrew Mackie and Corey Enright - shore up a back half anchored by key-position players Harry Taylor and Tom Lonergan. The loss to injury of clever utilities Allen Christensen and Steven Motlop will hurt early in the season. Geelong will do very well to match lat season's 18-4 record in the home and away season, which took them to second on the ladder. But the shock qualifying final loss to Fremantle at Simonds Stadium and Hawthorn's curse-ending victory in the preliminary final a fortnight later were bitter pills to swallow. "As my great mentor Leigh Matthews always said, at the end of the season there's one team happy and the rest are really disappointed," said Scott. "I think that's still true today and true of us, even though we did have a great home and away season. "But all you're really doing is qualifying through that period and the unfortunate reality for us is that we didn't play our best when we needed to. "We've been specific and targeted with our long-term program over the last few years and we'll continue to be over the next few years. "What we've seen is that it hasn't hindered our chances of short-term success."

Mark Blicavs took remarkable strides in his debut season in 2013, it will be a very big ask for him to carry the ruck division with only Dawson Simpson and Hamish McIntosh - who have had plenty of injury concerns of their own - for support. By letting the 32-year-old Podsiadly join Adelaide, the Cats sent a clear message to their young key forwards such as Shane Kersten, Mitch Brown, Josh Walker and the now unavailable Vardy that there was a clear vacancy to be filled. "We're really open-minded," said Scott. "It's a pretty cut-throat game and in the end we'll play the one who plays the best." As has been the case throughout the golden era that began with the breakthrough 2007 premiership, the Cats' strengths this year will be in midfield and defence.

Castaway vows not to return to sea

A fisherman from El Salvador who says he spent 13 months adrift in the Pacific Ocean, surviving on turtle blood and fish and birds caught with his bare hands, vowed he would not venture back out to sea as he left hospital.
Jorge Salvador Alvarenga, 37, was found in January on a remote coral atoll in the Marshall Islands, saying he had survived at sea for more than a year. "No. For the moment no," Alvarenga said,he will not return to the sea as he left the hospital with family members, stopping to raise his hand in a victory sign. He later told a news conference he spoke to God every day, and never lost faith that he would survive. Another fisherman who had set out with Alvarenga died weeks into the ordeal. Asked if he had eaten his companion, he said: "No. He died." "He died of hunger and thirst. He didn't eat," he added. Alvarenga was barely able to speak when he arrived back in El Salvador a week ago and he still struggled to answer questions a week later. El Salvador's health minister, Maria Isabel Rodriguez, escorted the fisherman from the hospital and said he would not need surgery for a spinal injury. She said Alvarenga was so shaken by the ordeal that he may not return to his coastal home. "I don't know if it was decided that he'll be taken to another house, because of the problem he had of fear of the sea," Rodriguez said. Alvarenga, a fisherman for 15 years, told officials he set sail on a shark-fishing trip from Mexico in late December 2012, but was blown out to sea. He washed up some 10,000 km (6,200 miles) away in the Marshall Islands. He was found in a disoriented state on a remote coral atoll in his 7.3-meter (22-foot) fiberglass boat.

Potgieter to start for Waratahs

South African import Jacques Potgieter has been promoted to the NSW Waratahs starting side for Saturday's clash with Queensland. NSW Waratahs have promoted South African powerhouse Jacques Potgieter to the starting side for Saturday night's Super Rugby derby against the Queensland Reds at ANZ Stadium. Potgieter comes in at lock to partner Kane Douglas, meaning 21year-old giant Will Skelton drops back to the bench. Waratahs coach Michael Cheika said he had a "gut feel" that Potgieter's experience could benefit his pack in what promises to be a willing forward battle against one of the Australian Conference heavyweights. Skelton made a strong start in last week's win against the Western Force, and Cheika said the future Wallaby wasn't being dropped for
tackles and hit good rucks." After running in six tries to two in the bonus point thumping of the Force, Cheika has stuck with an unchanged backline and he's also retained Paddy Ryan at prop over experienced international Sekope Kepu. Captain Dave Dennis didn't train on Tuesday and is in some doubt for the Reds clash with a minor knee problem. Cheika has named an extended bench which he will cut down on Thursday. Waratahs: Israel Folau, Alofa Alofa, Adam Ashley-Cooper, Kurtley Beale, Peter Betham, Bernard Foley, Nick Phipps, Wycliff Palu, Michael Hooper, Dave Dennis, Kane Douglas, Jacques Potgieter, Paddy Ryan, Tatafu Polota-Nau, Benn Robinson. Reserves: Tola Latu, Jeremy Tilse, Sekope Kepu, Will Skelton, Stephen Hoiles, Brendan McKibbin, Rob Horne, Matt Carraro,

He's playing a few more phases than he's had to play before (in South Africa). "He was blowing a fair bit after last week's game so see if we can get some more oxygen in his lungs before the weekend. "I felt really humbled but you probably would not feel that way if you were out there on a paddle board or having a swim," she said. Parks and Wildlife senior operations officer Dave Woods believes it was the same crocodile which had been spotted in a number of locations in December. He estimated it was 3.5m to 4m. Mr Woods said the animal would be targeted for removal to the Malcolm Douglas Wilderness Park, 16km east of Broome.

Dodgers consider leaving star at home

Thursday, the Dodgers are being noncommittal over whether he'll start in Sydney. "Everything's a possibility," Mattingly told reporters on Monday. Asked would masking Kershaw's unavailability under the banner of a pre-season injury be a diplomatic way of avoiding ruffling feathers in Australia and at MLB headquarters, Mattingly declined to respond. "That's a negative question," Mattingly said. "I'll choose not to answer that question." Mattingly said all but one member of his starting rotation was under consideration to start in Sydney. Greinke is likely to take on the role of pantomime villain and start in one of the matches - possibly to a reception similar to that which greeted England fast bowler Stuart Broad this Ashes summer. The MLB say the Australian series was organised in conjunction with the game's powerful players association and that clubs and athletes have been supportive of the venture all along. According to officials, player apprehension for an out-of-country series is nothing out of the ordinary. Due to the SCG series, the Dodgers have a shortened spring training, must travel 17 hours to Sydney and back and then play three practice matches before continuing on with the season in San Diego more than a week later. However, as proof that player welfare is paramount, the MLB pointed to a recent example from 2012 when the Oakland A's won their division despite travelling to Tokyo to play Seattle in the opening round.

Surfing croc shuts beach

A laid-back, king of the p a c k cleared one of WA's m a j o r tourism hotspots at t h e weekend.
T h e "dominant" male crocodile, which experts say was nearly 4m long, shut down Broome's Cable Beachas it surfed and lurked in knee-deep water. Onlookers gathered to catch a glimpse of the reptile that stayed in about the same location all day. Broome woman Sharon Scoble said she was amazed by its size. "He was a big boy his head was huge," she said. "It would be all over red rover if he got hold of you." The croc did not show signs of aggression, but Ms Scoble said it was looking at people on the beach.

The LA Dodgers are considering leaving their star pitcher at home for their seasonopening series in Sydney against Arizona.
The Los Angeles Dodgers continue to cause headaches for MLB organisers, with the powerhouse club considering leaving No.1 drawcard Clayton Kershaw at home for the historic season-opener at the SCG. Just days after fellow Dodgers pitcher Zack Greinke declared he had "absolutely zero excitement" for the Australian series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, coach Don Mattingly has refused to confirm whether one of the game's biggest names will be on the plane. The LA Times reported it as "today's edition of how the Dodgers can really tick off Australia." Kershaw signed a seven-year $US215 million contract extension in January and has been billed as the superstar who will open the season in front of an almost sold-out crowd in the first of two matches in Sydney on March 22. But the Dodgers are concerned about overtaxing their ace on the long trip to Australia, and may put club interests over the chance to showcase one of baseball's best talents to a new market. Australian organisers are privately hoping two-time pitcher of the year Kershaw will make the trip, however ultimately they admit it will come down to the coach's call. Major League officials in New York are adamant Kershaw and his wife will be in Sydney as promised unless something untoward happens to the 25year-old during Spring training. They say reports Kershaw will be kept on ice in LA are just rumours at this stage. But with Kershaw due to pitch in a pre-season match in Arizona on

Second car in two weeks??

A 10-year-old Norwegian boy who took his parents' car for a joyride last week, claiming he was a dwarf who forgot his driver's license, has hit the road again.
This time he took off in the car of a relative the family was visiting and managed to drive about 30 km (19 miles) before stopping, local police said. When the parents realized what happened, they phoned police who sent out messages over Twitter and traffic radio asking the public for

The following is a myth busting info page covering different songs or bands each week chosen by one of our many loyal readers, Please EnjoyExtreme"More than words"

EXTREME
"More Than Words" is a ballad written and originally performed by the rock band Extreme. It is built around acoustic guitar work by Nuno Bettencourt and the vocals of Gary Cherone (with harmony vocals from Bettencourt). Released in 1990 on the album Extreme II: Pornograffiti, the song marked a departure from the funk metal that had permeated the band's style previous to its release. The song was described by Bettencourt as a song warning that the phrase "I love you" was becoming meaningless: "People use it so easily and so lightly that they think you can say that and fix everything, or you can say that and everything's OK. Sometimes you have to do more and you have to show itthere's other ways to say 'I love you.' Parodies The video for "More Than Words" was parodied by "Weird Al" Yankovic for his original song, "You Don't Love Me Anymore". The comedic duo Paul and Storm produced an original pastiche of the song entitled "More Than Two" on their album Gumbo Pants. Also, Amateur Transplants wrote a comedic song to the same tune as "More Than Words" entitled "Northern Birds", which was released on their 2006 album "We Are So Bad". The video was also parodied by Jason Segel and the cast of How I Met Your Mother in an online tie-in music video on the episode "The Sexless Innkeeper". An Indian styled version of the song and video was parodied by Mike Myers in his film "The Love Guru". ApologetiX asserts the proposition to Christians that they cannot earn salvation with "More than Works". Makeover Miracles
Aries Mar 21 - Apr 20 This week, the sky speaks of increased responsibility on your part. It also speaks of you taking on more responsibility as a result of someone else deciding they don't want to shoulder as much as they have been. Your understandable reaction to this is that the arrangement is unfair. In truth though, someone does need your help and support. This week, you can provide both whilst enlightening them about how they will have to fend for themselves more in future. Try to guard against a skill or talent you possess being taken for granted. Taurus Apr 21 - May 21 The cosmos doesn't deal in clichs. It's unconcerned about corniness. It provides its message and we interpret it to gain valuable insight into opportunities that exist and when to seize them. My stating this surrounds the sky's message to you now, which involves 'a wonderful world of opportunity' that awaits you. You're about to enter into unknown territory in some way. This week, balance between trepidation and excitement gets made in excitement's favor. You have reason to feel such a way and to look forward to what the unknown has to offer. Gemini May 22 - Jun 22 Bureaucracy exists everywhere. People within organizations tell us how they can't assist us in ways we ask until paperwork is completed. Paperwork gets completed and then rejected by a computer. The sky speaks clearly of effort and patience required on your part to make progress in a certain area. It also speaks of lack of cooperation from certain others that exists. This week, a small but significant shift will give you reason to feel delighted and reassured. A plan isn't going off the rails. It is becoming clearer with time and will soon be ready to implement. Cancer Jun 23 - Jul 23 A drama is being prolonged. A discussion appears to be going round in circles. Progress that you wish to make doesn't appear to be forthcoming. It probably dawned on you some time ago that, to progress a tedious situation, you or someone close would have to take a risk and this involves one of you making yourself emotionally vulnerable briefly. This week, an opportunity presents itself to take a calculated risk. Although it involves a heart, the risk is long overdue. A long, drawn out drama can be brought to an end if you truly want it to cease. Leo Jun 24 - Aug 23 We become annoyed by salespeople who won't take 'no' for an answer. We become even more annoyed when they use their sales experience to try to change our minds. Might there be someone whom you risk annoying further by refusing to accept the fact that they are saying 'no' quite clearly? The key to progress doesn't involve trying harder to change their mind. It involves empathy and understanding. Offer more of both and you'll see what a difference it will make. The sky insists a solution can be found but to find it, you'll need to accept a new way forward. Virgo Aug 24 - Sep 23 Some help wouldn't go amiss. Neither would some support or acknowledgement from certain individuals. There appears to be something you're handling single-handedly and are likely finding yourself wondering what might instill a sense of interest or urgency in others to help out. The truth of the matter appears to surround you being more knowledgeable about something that matters greatly to you. This week, enlighten a few people and they will start to take a keener interest. There is willingness on the part of others to help this week. Don't be too quick to disregard it.

Libra Sep 24 - Oct 23 Are there creatures more stubborn than human beings? You appear to have one very stubborn individual in your world who simply won't budge regarding offers and proposals you've made but has your own stubbornness caused you to perhaps overlook reasons why? If someone isn't keen to consider what you're offering, then the offer needs to be tailored more toward something they will agree with. This week, you can gain insight into how to modify your approach. A compromise can be reached that, at first might not appear to suit you but you can trust Scorpio Oct 24 - Nov 22 What makes your heart beat that little bit faster? What instills belief that the world is a wonderful place full of opportunities waiting to be seized? Am I just waxing lyrical about a world that doesn't really exist in your mind? You know such a world is available to you. You can both see and sense already the changes that being introduced, one by one, to your world. The cosmos has serious plans to make life a bit less of a serious thing for you. This week kicks off a process to do precisely that and all you need to do is be willing to embrace it. Sagittarius Nov 23 - Dec 21 With a lever, amazing things can happen. Any object too heavy to be moved or shifted with mere muscle alone can be moved or shifted in impressive ways with scientific application of force and energy. Consider why you're having to invest levels of effort you are to bring about a change. Now, consider how you might be trying too hard with little or no help to make this happen. This week, you receive help you need and look set to be surprised at how easily this can be achieved. All you need to do is continue to invest faith in a plan you are pursuing. Capricorn Dec 22 - Jan 20 We can all guess at what someone else is thinking. Actions and moods often give much away but none of us possesses real ability to access another's thoughts. Some of us are quite good when it comes to guessing but even they experience failure from time to time. What's on someone's mind appears likely to play a big part in this week's developments. If asking outright hasn't produced desired results, then don't worry. What someone thinks or feels is about to made clear to you. Your biggest challenge this week surrounds seeing this as a positive step forward. Aquarius Jan 21 - Feb 19 Some people adore being in front of an audience. Attention and acknowledgment is something they need on at least a basic level. Others hate being in a spotlight, believing faults and flaws become too clearly visible. You're about to receive attention but this might take the form of having to provide answers to a few awkward questions asked of you. The process will, however, bring into the spotlight an issue that has been kept hidden for far too long. There's something you want and need others to be aware of and that's the opportunity presenting itself now. Aquarius Jan 21 - Feb 19 Some people adore being in front of an audience. Local Farmer
A farmer stopped by the local mechanic shop to have his truck fixed. They couldn't do it while he waited, so he said he didn't live far and would just walk home. On the way home he stopped at the hardware store and bought a bucket and a gallon of paint. He then stopped by the feed store and picked up a couple of chickens and a goose. However, struggling outside the store he now had a problem - how to carry his purchases home. While he was scratching his head he was approached by a little old lady who told him she was lost. She asked, "Can you tell me how to get to Mockingbird Lane?" The farmer said, "Well, as a matter of fact, my farm is very close to that house. I would walk you there but I can't carry this lot." The old lady suggested, "Why don't you put the can of paint in the bucket. Carry the bucket in one hand; put a chicken under each arm and carry the goose in your other hand?" "Why thank you very much," he said and proceeded to walk the old girl home. On the way he said, "Let's take my short cut and go down this alley. We'll be there in no time." The little old lady looked him over cautiously then said, "I am a lonely widow without a husband to defend me. How do I know that when we get in the alley you won't hold me up against the wall, pull up my skirt, and have your way with me?" The farmer said, "Holy smoke lady! I'm carrying a bucket, a gallon of paint, two chickens, and a goose. How in the world could I possibly hold you up against the wall and do that?" To which old lady replied, "Put the goose down, cover him with the bucket, put the paint on top of the bucket, and I'll hold the chickens."

individual or entity. Or foreigner permanently domiciled in Indonesia, or a foreign legal entity with a representative office in Indonesia such as foreign Banks, embassies, etc. NOMINEE SYSTEM FOR HAK MILIK This structure is a regularly practiced procedure in Indonesia, whereby the foreigner nominates and Indonesian representative to acquire the land and to hold the 'freehold' title (Hak Milik) on behalf of the foreigner. Ownership of the land is transferred from the previous owner to the Indonesian nominee. The foreigner and the Indonesian nominee then sign an agreement which recognizes the Indonesian nominee as the legal owner of the property whilst declaring the foreigner as the rightful owner of the property. This agreement denotes that the Indonesian nominee will carry out any directives from the foreigner regarding the land. This agreement must always be concluded in the presence of a public notary.

PROPERTY OWNERSHIP IN INDONESIA

As a foreigner, there is a number of ways that can lead to you owning your dream property in Bali.
The best option for you will depend on your personal situation, the type of property, risk factors and the type of investment model. Even though it states in Indonesian law that foreigners are not allowed to hold a 'freehold' land title, there are ways that have been in practice for a number of years that enable foreigners to control a freehold title indirectly or to hold a leasehold title in their own name. RIGHT OF USE (HAK PAKAI) This is the right of use over state-owned (crown land) or property owned by public or private persons/entities for a specific purpose for (generally) a finite period and occasionally for an indefinite period. This land right may not be sold, exchanged or transferred unless explicitly state in an agreement. Hak pakai may be held by and Indonesian
