Westfalenhallen Dortmund GmbH the German company organizing the event, published a notice on its website that the event promoting tobacco products and accessories had been postponed, despite having obtained all the necessary legal permits. Academic Warns: U n b r i d l e d Accommodation Growth Has Turned Bali into a Low Quality, Cheap Destination
Bali Daily (The Jakarta Post) quotes tourism expert and academician Agung Suryawan Wiranatha, chairman of the Consortium of Tourism Research Group, expressing his concerns over tourism development in Bali and his fear that the Island was not a quality holiday destination. Saying that Bali has become a cheap destination, Suryawan blamed the oversupply of hotel rooms as causing a sudden decrease in occupancy rates and the resulting price war now underway. Lower occupancies, lower rates, shortfall in targeted revenues and the seeming anomaly of lower tax revenues are all part and parcel of Bali's current situation. Strapped for cash, operators will soon find themselves financially unable to maintain and refurbish their hotels. ? ? This situation will turn Bali into a very cheap destination, while the island slips farther away from achieving its goal of becoming a quality tourist destination, Suryawan warned. Based on his research,

A proposal was made to the government in 2011 to allow the Udayana University's Center for To u r i s m a n d C u l t u r e Research to monitor accommodation supply. That proposal has not been dignified with a response from the Government. Calling for an urgent survey to be undertaken of accommodation in Bali, Suryawan want to see severe legal penalties for those who violate licensing and permit laws. Meanwhile, Tjokorda Raka Darmawan who heads the Badung Tourism Agency defended the regency's readiness to issue new hotel licenses. He said calls by the Governor for a moratorium were not implemented by the regency, who preferred to control and restructure. Darmawan claimed ? ? We have been very selective in issuing licenses, by implementing certain requirements. 80% of Badung's tax revenues totaling Rp. 2.2 trillion (US$189 million) were derived from hotel and restaurant taxes in 2013. www.balidiscovery.com
Suryawan projected that Bali could have achieved 100% occupancy rates over the past two years with a supply of 41,814 rooms in 2012 and 46,193 rooms in 2013. Some current estimates of the number of saleable accommodation rooms in Bali place rh total near 100,000. While it remains problematic to calculate the exact number of rooms being offered by hotels and villas at the moment in Bali, its clear that the Island is grossly oversupplied with occupancies at hotel averaging 62.22% in 2012 and only 55,52% in 2013. Agung says a better balance needs to be maintain between room supply and tourism demands in order to avoid the current situation where many hotels were operating with average occupancies well below 60%.

Bali Environmentalists Demand Clean Up of Oil Spill in Benoa Harbor
The Wisnu Foundation of Bali is urging PT Indonesia Power a division of the State Power Board (PLN) to under a serious and urgent environmental clean up of the damage to Bali's mangrove forest near Benoa harbor caused by a burst fuel pipe. The chairman of the Wisnu Foundation, Made Suarnata, told the State New Agency Antara: PT Indonesian Power must take responsibility for causing this damage to the environment. This contamination constitutes a violation of laws established for protecting the environment. Suarnata accepted that the leaking fuel pipe was an accident, but insisted this fact does not

The head of the environmental group acknowledged that PT Indonesian Power undertook an initial clean up of the oil spill when it first occurred, but said remnants of the oil still remained that are adhering to plants inside the mangrove forest. The Wisnu Foundation wants PT Indonesian Power to be more serious in addressing the clean up of the oil spill, employing special vacuums to suck up the remaining oil spill if necessary.

the tourism sector in Bali has developed beyond the carrying capacity of the Island to accommodate such development, he said. Windia is urging urgent and serious attention be paid to this problem first identified in 1985 when a study supported by the government declared the "ideal" carrying capacity for international standard hotel rooms in Bali was only 24,000 rooms. That total has been long surpassed by more than 300% with the current number of rooms on sale in Bali estimated at between 80,000-100,000 rooms. Windia decried that the government has failed to introduce the promised moratorium on new hotel development in Bali, with regents defending tthe regency's need for the wider tax base created by more hotels. Bali's culture is the foundation of all segments of life on the Island, warned Windia.

Research commissioned by the British Institute for Medical Studies (BIMS) has revealed that giving blowjobs can significantly reduce the incidence of cancer in women. Dr James Fredericks, a GP from Norwich, first noticed this phenomenon when he was investigating the possible causes of a spate of cancer diagnoses in women at his practice. We seemed to be getting an inordinate amount of women who were being diagnosed with cancer at our surgery, and I wanted to see if there might be causal link, so I started to do a bit of investigation into the patients' medical history. I always ask my female patients whether they love giving blowjobs or not just so we can keep our records up to date, and when I was doing my investigations I was finding that all these women who were being diagnosed with cancer were all women who had told me, in a private

one-to-one setting, that they do not actually love giving blowjobs. It was becoming clear to me that this was no coincidence, and that the likely cause of the cancer in all these women was their apathy towards performing oral sex on men. Dr Fredericks reported his findings to BIMS, who commissioned him to carry out further research into the possibility that there is a causal link between the non-performance of oral sex and cancer. His findings proved quite remarkable: I took a random sample of 100 women aged between 18 and 23, and, over the course of a few months, had each of them perform oral sex on me. Subsequently, each of the women were scanned and tested in order to check for any traces of cancer. What I found was quite astounding, out of the 100 girls
tested, not one of them was found to have cancer postperformance of oral sex. This was clear evidence that there was a strong correlation between the giving of blowjobs and the avoidance of cancer. I should point out that the findings are only at a preliminary stage at the moment, so I'm not saying that all women should run home this instance and start giving their partners a blowjob. But when they do get home, they should definitely give their partners a blowjob then. And then just two per day for the rest of their lives as a precautionary measure.

The Storm have taken the cautious approach to Cooper Cronk's comeback from shoulder surgery with Craig Bellamy opting to leave the star halfback out of his round one side to face Manly. Melbourne will instead have to rely on the green halves paring of Ben Roberts in No.7 and Ben Hampton at No.6. Cronk's fellow superstar Billy Slater has been picked to start at fullback after overcoming a knee injury. The Rabbitohs have been boosted by the selection of Dylan Walker at five-eighth, with Michael Maguire's preferred replacement for Luke Keary overcoming an ankle injury to take his place in the side, That allows co-captain John Sutton to start the season at lock. Penrith coach Ivan Cleary has rolled out his big name recruits for round one, with Jamie Soward and Peter Wallace to partner in the halves, while Tyrone Peachey will start in the back-row. Michael Morgan has been given first chance to stake his claim for the Cowboys' fullback position in the absence of Lachlan Coote, while Jason Taumalolo has been promoted to North Queensland's starting line-up for their round one clash with the Raiders. The Broncos have taken a gamble with their five-eighth position, deciding on Josh Hoffman to partner young halfback Ben Hunt in the much-anticipated Friday night match-up with the Bulldogs. Ben Barba will start at fullback in a relatively inexperienced backline completed by Daniel Vidot, Jack Reed, Dale Copley and Lachlan Maranta. Corey Parker moves to the front row to partner Josh McGuire, with Ben Hannant and Martin Kennedy on the bench. Manly's worst fears have

Injured in the Titans' final trial game, Ryan James has been named on an extended bench, while Beau Falloon will start at hooker in place of the injured Matt Srama. After being lured back from the English Super League, Michael Witt has been given first crack as Dragons' halfback, getting the nod in front of fellow recruit Sam Williams to partner Gareth Widdop in the halves. Williams has been left out of the Dragons' team to face the Tigers all together. Steve Price also had a big decision to make at fullback, where Adam Quinlan will deputise for the injured Josh Dugan in preference to Gerard Beale, Kyle Stanley and Jason Nightingale. Stanley has been named on the bench, while Beale will start in the centres and Nightingale in his usual position on the wing. The Raiders have given Jack Wighton first shot at the five-eighth position, while Glen Buttris has held off competition from Josh McCrone to start in the No.9 jersey.

SOUTH Sydney has been hit with another injury blow on the eve of Thursday night's NRL season opener against the Roosters with Tom Burgess ruled out with a foot injury.
Burgess was reportedly wearing a moon boot during the Rabbitohs' Monday afternoon training session after suffering some minor bone damage to his foot. While the injury will keep the rising star off South Sydney's bench for the blockbuster clash with the Roosters, Rabbitohs officials are hopeful he will recover in time to take his place in the club's round two clash with Manly next Friday. While the Burgess omission will deny the Rabbitohs some potency in its powerful forward pack, news that Adam Reynolds will be fit to guide the side around from halfback will come as welcome relief for coach Michael Maguire, as an injury cloud continues to hover over preferred five-eighth Dylan Walker. Reynolds has been cleared to start after missing the Rabbitohs' Charity Shield clash against St George Illawarra after fullback Greg Inglis fell on his knee at training in the week leading up to that match. Walker played the Charity Shield but came off during the game and has been battling an ankle syndesmosis injury. If he doesn't recover in time, John Sutton, who has been earmarked by Maguire to play lock this season, will return to his old five-eighth role. We'll probably have to wait til tomorrow to completely make my mind up, Maguire said. He (Walker) will do a little bit today, but then it's obviously how he pulls up tomorrow. Probably it's right up until the Thursday because of the injury that Dylan has got. He's pulling up okay, but we want to make sure he's right to get through 80 minutes of footy.

Suspended Sharks coach Shane Flanagan cleared of breach by NRL for attending trial
THE NRL has cleared suspended Sharks coach Shane Flanagan of any breach after he attended a Cronulla trial match.
While suspended Flanagan is prohibited from having any form of involvement with the club. But the NRL says it has received an explanation from the Cronulla Sharks regarding his presence at the game and it is satisfied Flanagan did not breach his suspension and had attended the game in a private capacity. In a statement, the NRL also said: Mr Noyce said that outside an exchange of pleasantries with Paul Gallen, Mr Flanagan had no involvement with the Club, its sponsors, coach or team.
Based on the explanation provided by Mr Noyce and Mr Flanagan, the NRL accepts there has not been a breach of Mr Flanagan's suspension. Flanagan had attended the game to support his son Kyle who plays for Cronulla's Harold Matthews team.

Wolfmother are an Australian hard rock band. Formed in 2000 by vocalist and guitarist Andrew Stockdale, bassist and keyboardist Chris Ross, and drummer Myles Heskett, the band is currently a three-piece composed of Stockdale, Ian Peres (bass, keyboards), and Vin Steele (drums). Wolfmother released their selftitled debut album in October 2005, which reached number three on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart. The album was also a critical success, winning the 2005 J Award and the 2006 ARIA Awards for Best Breakthrough Album and Best Rock Album. "Woman", a single from the album, won the band a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance in 2006. February 2012 (Steele replacing Nemeth, Rosser taking over from Rockwell-Scott, and Hammond joining the band) delayed recording progress. The resulting album was completed in early 2013, and was released as Keep Moving in March under Stockdale's name, and not that of Wolfmother. Stockdale later confirmed that Wolfmother were on indefinite hiatus, although in July the decision was reversed and Wolfmother returned to performing live; their third album is expected to be released in 2014.
Makeover Miracles
Aries Mar 21 - Apr 20 Some people are only happy when they're unhappy. No matter how much effort you make to please them, they remain pessimistic. This, they feel, protects them. They believe they learned long ago not to raise their hopes because hopes can be dashed. This week, you're likely to have to deal with someone who believes the glass to be constantly half empty. You are well placed to reassure them and doing so will somehow grant you freedom where you've long wanted it. Someone else's change in attitude is about to benefit you as well! Taurus Apr 21 - May 21 How often do we surprise ourselves? Probably not as often as we'd like and this is probably reflective of how often we take calculated risks. A certain kind of joy comes from discovering we are capable or more capable of doing something than we thought we were. This week, you look likely to surprise yourself at how able you are to make progress with something that has daunted you. Your efforts will bring about a positive development that will make you smile. All you need to do is maintain belief in something you have, for some time, wanted to achieve. Gemini May 22 - Jun 22 Where do you go from here? That depends on where you want to be. You know where you are but the sky suggests investing further effort toward something doesn't exactly fill you with inspiration. Change you want and need to happen will rely on you adopting a change of attitude. Whilst you might be unable to change a situation, there is much you can do to change your attitude toward it and, this week, that's what starts to occur. From there, great things can happen and if you've been looking for a reason to feel more optimistic, then you can trust it's coming. Cancer Jun 23 - Jul 23 Holding a book or image close to our eyes results in us being unable to see it clearly. Moving the text or image further away makes it clearer. Apologies for the primary school-level analogy but, need exists for you to gain proper insight into a situation and the only way to achieve this is to stand back until it becomes clearer. It is distance that is needed and this week, you start to put distance in place. It will take Jupiter a bit of time to gain momentum in your sign, but you can trust that its doing so will ensure what has been unclear will become clearer very soon. Leo Jun 24 - Aug 23 If someone's child walked up to you in a supermarket and kicked you on your knee, how would you react? Many people would be angry at such behavior and opt to blame the parent(s). Would you though consider why the child had behaved in such a way? We tend to react instantly in some ways and fail to look beyond a situation at what caused it. This week, it is your willingness to look beyond a situation at the root or cause that will bring about the most noticeable change. You are probably right about most things. There is something you might not be right about now. Virgo Aug 24 - Sep 23 An issue appears to exist surrounding how you feel you should be reacting or responding to a situation and how someone else feels you should be reacting or responding. You know, in your heart, why your responses are what they are. You are aware of limitations and restrictions that exist and affect you that you-know-who is probably not as aware of or might even be choosing to ignore. This week, stick with what you know feels right. You can't go wrong if you do and can also do much to alleviate tension where it is needed.

BALINESE CUISINE
Balinese cuisine is a cuisine tradition of Balinese people from the volcanic island of Bali. Part of Indonesian cuisine, it demonstrates indigenous traditions, as well as influences from other Indonesian regional cuisine, Chinese and Indian. The island's inhabitants are predominantly Hindu and culinary traditions are somewhat distinct with the rest of Indonesia, with festivals and religious celebrations including many special foods prepared as the offerings for the deities, as well as other dishes consumed communally during the celebrations. Rice is almost always consumed as a staple accompanied with vegetables, meat and seafood. Pork, chicken, fruit, vegetables and seafood are widely utilized, however just like most of Hindus, beef is never or rarely consumed. Bali is a popular tourist destination, and the area has quite a lot of cooking schools with daily courses of Balinese cuisine. Night markets, warungs (food stands), and fruit vendors sell local delicacies. Festivals include ornately prepared foods as part of the celebrations. As a popular tourist area, many westernized foods are also available as well as other regional ethnic cuisines. Dishes Balinese foods include lawar (chopped coconut, garlic, chilli, with pork or chicken meat and blood), Bebek betutu (duck stuffed with spices, wrapped in banana leaves and coconut husks cooked in a pit of embers), Balinese sate known as sate lilit made from spiced mince pressed onto skewers which are often lemon grass sticks, Babi guling also known as celeng guling (a spit-roasted pig stuffed with chilli, turmeric, garlic, and ginger) In Bali, the mixed rice is called nasi campur Bali or simply nasi Bali. The Balinese nasi campur version of mixed rice may have grilled tuna, fried tofu, cucumber, spinach, tempe, beef cubes, vegetable curry, corn, chili sauce on the bed of rice. Mixed rice is often sold by street vendors, wrapped in a banana leaf. Betutu is eaten in Bali as well as Lombok, and West Nusa Tenggara. It is a roasted poultry dish (chicken or duck) with spices. Lawar is a traditional vegetable and meat dish in Bali Vegetable and meat dish served with rice. It consists of shredded unripe jackfruit, young banana flower, a liberal amount of pork rind bits, raw pig blood. These are mashed with herbs such as lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves, shallots, and garlic. Babi guling is a Balinese-style roast pork comparable to Hawaiian luau-style pig. Other common Indonesian dishes are easily found, such as tempe and tofu are used. Sambal dishes are also served. Bakso, a meatball or meat paste made from beef surimi, can also be found.
