Abxtruct: }osminum somboc Ait. commonly known as 'Notia' is an eveigieen plant, belongs to family 0leaceae anu has
been extensively useu in tiauitional meuicine. It possesses immense meuicinal applications such as to cuie insanity,
weakness of sight, affections of mouth, skin uiseases, lepiosy, ulceis anu in suppiession of pueipeial lactation. It also
possesses antiuiabetic, antitumoui, antimiciobial, antioxiuant, antiacne, wounuhealing piopeities anu has A.N.S

subcoiuate, iaiely acute; main neives 4-6 in paiis; petioles
S-6 mm. long anu haiiy. Floweis aie white, veiy fiagiant,
solitaiy, usually in S-floweieu, teiminal cymes; biacts
lineai-subulate; peuicals 6 mm long. Calyx 1-1.S cm long,
haiiy; teeth S-9, lineai-subulate, 6-1u mm long. Coiolla

of uiam +ve (Stopbylococcus oureus, metbicillin resistont
Stopbylococcus oureus, Bocillus subtilis anu Bocillus
cereus), uiam -ve bacteiia (F. coli, Klesbsiello pneumonioe,
Solmonello typbimurium, PseuJomonos oeruqinoso anu
Cbromobocterium violoceum) filamentous fungi (A. niqer,
Asperqillus fumiqotus, ConJiJo olbicons anu ConJiJo
qlobroto) anu yeasts. Antiquoium sensing activity of such
