/umilah. #atara 7uru was attracted her. #atara 7uru wanted to marry her. +he formed him that he must meet there conditions. 8ood with e$erlasting taste, a shirt that can.t be ruined, and a gamelan, a traditional 9a$anese instrument that can play by itself. +he would marry him if he fulfilled all of these conditions. *f not, she.d rather die. +o, #atara 7uru sent a messenger to :arth to find all of these conditions. &n the way to :arth, the messenger fell in lo$e with /ewi +ri, #atara 2isnu.s wife. )he messenger always followed her. +he became mad, so the messenger was cursed by /ewi +ri. #atara 7uru continued to wait for the messenger. 'fter a long time, he forget about the conditions needed to marry Retno /umilah. 'fter sometime, he decided to try to hug her and see if she would consider marrying him. +uddenly, she died. 9ust as she promised, she would rather die than marrying #atara 7uru without all of these conditions. ,e tried to bring her back to life. #ut, it was no use. 'nd so, he buried her. 'fter her funeral, some strange plants grew from her to feed the local citi3ens. 8rom her head grew a coconut tree, from her body grew rice paddy plants, from her hands grew hanging fruits. 'nd from her feet grew top-roof plants. 'fter that day, the rice paddy plants were spread all o$er the world. )he rice paddy plants from the body of Retno /umilah became the master paddy. 'nother day, /ewi +ri was being chased by a wild pig. +he asked /ewata, ,indu.s 7od, if she could be banished instead of being chased by a wild pig. lopl she was suddenly banished from the world. +he also became rice paddy plants. )hese rice paddy plants were planted in a paddy field. ' farmer named ak )ani, was happy to plant /ewi +ri.s paddy. ,e was taught how to farm the rice paddy. )he wild pig who cased /ewi +ri died. Many kind of insects that kill plants, appeared from his body. )o fight the insects, /ewi +ri sent paddy snakes to eats the rats. #ecause of this, farmers don.t kill paddy field snakes anymore, since they kill the insects that eat the rice.
