MIDHEAVEN EXTENSION PROCESS

WAYS TO EXTEND THE MIDHEAVEN

1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) 7) 8) Midheaven sign(s) and the condition of the planet(s) ruling the MH; Dispositor dynamics from the MH ruler to other planets; Powerful planet places in the Midheaven, near the angle; Aspects to the MH, those planets and their dispositor dynamics; Mutual reception somehow relating the MH or it ruler; Stellium; Oriental planet; Key measurements: Quintile Quindecile Peregrination Aries Point Sun/Moon midpoint 9) Moon sign and house position

OBSERVATIONS
1) Midheaven Sign(s) and condition of the ruling planet of the Midheaven Establishes the intial premise, the next steps of observation determine development of the initial theme one way or another.i Ruling planet is "spokesman" for early vocational statement Focus on Midheaven and its ruling planet ONLY! Ask "Where does the Midheaven ruler want to go?" Double-bodied Signs, like Gemini, Pisces and sometimes Sagittarius can indicate more than one career 2) Dispositor dynamics between Midheaven ruler & aspecting planets Planet y, ruling the sign holding planet x, is the dispositor of planet x; it influences x's position, colors it and can even take over x's position. Example: If O is in h, it disposits E - Mercury's influence colors Neptune because Mercury establishes the descriptive sensibilities of the sign of Virgo, therefore carrying the sense of Neptune forward. (1) Planets within the loop become prominent if it keeps coming back to the same ruling planet (a) Also look for aspect loop(s) to any planet with the dispositor (i) Example: OEUEwPrT(rE) Final dispositor(*) is when a planet is in its ruling sign, like Mars in Aries (1) Final dispositor presents much emphasis in the vocational profile (2) Can be extended through aspects to the final dispositor (3) If conjunctions are made, a key "target statement" is made, either by outreaching to house ruled by the planets or within the house the conjunction takes place MH , its ruler and dispositor can lead to the vocational modality (quality) that is needed by the subject Check the house the prominent planet in the dispositor rules. Look to see if there are any planets there. (1) You can check dispositor loops of those planets The of a dispositor is more like a "loop", it has to lead back to one element in the chain Ex: OEUOEwPrT 3) Planet placements at or near the Midheaven Planet becomes extremely prominent when conjoined with MH Usually a planet in the 10th house that does not conjunct MH doesn't amount to much 4) Aspects to Midheaven, those planets and their dispositor dynamics When there is no obvious vocational orientation, check the aspects to MH to find a possible lead Ex1: XPqR7eX Ex2: I7eR10I Ex3: OPR* Ex4: R10wOEI10 (1) Look for planets with strong connections to MH amd MH ruler. 5) Mutual reception, somehow relating to Midheaven or Midheaven ruler 2

2 planets in each sign ruled by the other. Each dispositor of the other. Ex: Rx, Is (1) When there's ,mutual reception but no aspect, there's affinity. (2) When there's an aspect as well. there's a very poweful bond Stellium 4 or more planets in a particular house, often conjuncting each other. It increases the focus on the house and sign Oriental planet The planet that rises just before the sun, the first planet to the left of the sun is the Oriental planet What needs to be expressed in order for the job to be satisfying The Oriental planet acts as a messenger for the Sun. It speaks on the behalf of the Sun. Key measurements Quintiles (72) - 3 or more indicate the need for a creative outlet Quindecile (165) - intense, sometimes obsessive focus Peregrine planet (!) that makes no major aspect with any other planet. This planet asserts itself forcefully Aries Point (AP)- any planet with 28.5 Mutable and 01.5 Cardinal Like the peregrine planet, it's going to asked to be noticed Q/W- any planet that configures with the midpoint become prominent in life expression Y/P- promise success Any planet the configures with this midpoint is a key to succeeding Mercury positions especially when it configures with the midpoint determine a mental thrust toward a particular vocation Midpoint configurations involving the Midheaven Midpoints configuring with Aries Point Midpoint add dimension and help add definition Moon sign & house Moon represents the reigning need Moon can collect all of the elements of the process and focus it into one house

*STOP - avoid cluttering or detouring judgment from the clearest path. You need to recognize when you've arrived to a conclusive target *House matters ruled by any planet trumps the matters of the house in which the planet itself resides

1) A planet's significance rests strongly on the House it rules Ex: Rk7 rules s1 j6, both ruled by R in turn 1st and 6th house should be looked at A planet located in the house it rules is considered a final dispositor Final dispositor increases the focus throughout the chart Houses suggest where vocational fulfillment can be found This can be found with Moon's placement Routing serves to establish an "anchor" House 2) Planets Pluto (P) Prime Symbolism: Research; government; politics (also with U); the famous and projections to fame; force; management of aging; inheritance management (estate), especially in connection with U and /or 8th House Supporting Concepts: Managing bureaucratic power; heavy machinery, big equipment; nuclear power; institutional care; insurance; psychotherapy; detection (along with O); far-reaching efforts; proselytizing Neptune (O) Prime Symbolism: Aesthetics, the creative; metaphysical, spirituality (with P, the Supernatural); off the mainstream, the disadvantaged; the nautical. Supporting Concepts: Interviewing, sales presentations (especially in connection with the 3rd House); group projects; building teamwork. 3) Awareness of level

Always be mindful of sociological reality, not every calling equates to huge income and social prestige. Each symbol has different levels or "classes" 5 considerations to kee in mind: (1) Leadership - Look for the influence of parental leadership. Sometimes we emulate our parental values and behaviors. Be aware of the following (a) U> (b) U hard aspects to Q and/or W (c) tension with the 4th & 10th axis (d) P aspects QW (e) { (2) Vision - Imagine yourself a certain way or aspiring to be something. Parental leadership must encourage this (3) Education - The step that follows Parental Leadership and helps the individual create a vision. Our sense of self worth is tied to the education we received and excel in. An interrupted education can be indicated by the following: (a) Tension with the 9th house ruler (b) Strong, possibly debilitation activity with the 9th house (4) Opportunity - Can be looked at as a challenge. Leadership leads to early vision, vision leads us to learn, learning leads us to face challenges, opportunities to prove ourselves and to shine or fail. (5) Reward - Gaining fulfillment of needs confirms we are on the right track (6) Leadership has supported who we are; vision lures us forward; education focuses and refines growth; opportunity guides us strategically; reward confirms us. We are fitted into the scheme of things at our Level.ii 4) Channels is basically a form chosen for the assimilation of Level. Ex: An individual may aspire to be a psychiatrist but may end up as an astrologer or bartender and end up very happy as a result. As long as it allows for that individual to understand people's behavior and the way they develop, the individual will be fulfilled. There are 5 basic channels: (1) Communicating - Talking, informing, selling, marketing, persuading, singing, writing, advertising, publishing, teaching, computing, learning, traveling (a) Prominent 3rd & 9th house; (b) E, Y, P and Air signs; (c) P = Sense of influencing many; (d) Nodal axis, 7th house = Needing a large audience (2) Performing - Motivating others, opining, dramatizing; being on or arranging for display of skill (a) Fire sign emphasis; (b) Q, T, Y and P; (c) 5th, 7th and 10th houses (3) Creative Expression (Aesthetics) (a) O, Rand E; 6

(b) Water signs; (c) d for communications; (d) c for aesthetics; (e) gfor theatre (f) 5th, 3rd, 7th, 12th houses; (g) Usually 3 or more aspects (4) Helping/Healing (a) 8th, 12th, 6th house; (b) O, Y, and U; (c) Water signs; (d) f and x (5) Administration - Heading up, directing, managing, organizing, investing, detailing, servicing, supporting (a) Earth signs; (b) U and/or E; (c) 10th, 6th house, 1st house (d) 2nd and 8th = Financial emphasis (6) Public orientation for any of the channels (a) 7th house = Involving others directly or indirectly (b) 8th or 12th house = Behind the scene i.e. consulting, editing or reorganizing (c) 12th and/or 10th house, along with a P focus = Government orientation (d) 9th house, emphasized Y = Internationalism

1) Practice Avoid over measuring, it's a sign of insecurity with the process and it muddles the outcome. Look for repetition involving 1 or 2 planets and repeated references to the same House(s). Making qualifying decisions in interpretive assessment is an art. Do not make detailed, definitive declarations Keep Level in mind, it always tempers the assessment Look for the simplest statement, the one that repeats several times (1) Whatever comes of this it must fit the client's environment, for support and cooperation NEVER REGARD VOCATIONAL PROFILING AS A GUESSING GAME We are waiting for the planets to lead us to a target, an anchor place, comprised of planetary sense and House focus.iii

THE ART IN JUDGEMENT

1) Deeper Technical Understanding Use the following example Sagittarian Midheaven is rule by Jupiter (1) Jupiter carries the Sagittarian whole-form of symbolism forward (2) Study where the Jupiter is , where it has taken the portents of the Midheaven (a) No need to take the sign of Jupiter into account (3) If Jupiter is conjoined to Saturn or any other planet, it will add to the appreciation of Jupiter (a) If it's Saturn, it adds Saturn traits to the Jupiter. Saturn brings business administration to Jupiter's publishing (i) This can be reinforce if the conjunction takes place in 3rd-9th axis (4) Next step is to look to the ruler of the 3rd house and 9th house to see if the ruler(s) are integrated with the process led by Jupiter (a) Trust the archetype of the Planet, no need to add the archetype of the Sign, in the delays the process. (b) We must know the MH ruler is taking us somewhere. (5) Employ dispositor dynamics, Jupiter-Saturn disposits Venus, Venus rules 3rd house and now gets all the attention as the target of the MH ruler, Jupiter (a) As the dispositor Venus carries forward what has already been accumulated analytically in the Midheaven Extension Process, that of business administration in the communication/publishing industry (b) Suppose Venus is peregrine, this puts the thread in the air and therefore it need to be ground. You do this by checking the dispositor of Venus, which is the Moon conjoined with Uranus which in turn puts more emphasis on 3rd-9th axis (c) Since the 3rd house was originally keyed by Jupiter occupying in the 3rd house, this is leads to checking the 9th house for final corroboration. (i) Pluto rules the 9th house, it makes contact with Midheaven through trine, as well as the Moon (sextile); Moon in the 3rd give a need to sell, persuade, present, communicate, inform. (ii) MHlR!W9MHl 2) Stalled Networking Pisces Midheaven, Neptune is disposited by Sun; both share mutual reception and that stalls the process. O<>Q, OQqI One way to revive the process, if the MH is intercepted, use a co-ruler and route through its ruler. Follow the example: (1) Aries is intercepted in the MH (2) TUPWqR8 STOP! (a) WqR establishes a clear target area, because its desposited by I, which rules the 8th house. This create emphasis in the 8th house as both routes point to it.

Another way would be to check the planet that conjuncts or tightly aspect the Midheaven (1) Xz-UOqc; R<>O; TqRO; everything goes back into the loop (a) O = The Arts (b) U = Business Administration (i) U + O = Business administration in the arts (2) EqX; Ed3 = final disposit (a) E+U+O = communicating and business administration in the arts Another way is to look to the final dispositor (1) Xj-R; R<>Q (2) PrQ; P<>W (3) Eh = Final dispositor; ErY; Yl= co-final dispositor (a) E9, Yl bring emphasis to the 9th house = the Law Also you can follow a fresh aspect trail (1) Xf-W, W<>P (2) WqR (3) All the aspects to the MH lead back to the same loop except U but its in the sign of z and that again stalls the process. (4) So look to the R that conjuncts W , RO, OEd9 = final dispositor (a) OEd9 = International communication through music
