    The Libertarian Party of Pinellas County (LPPC) responded to complaints from voters who had expressed their concern that Libertarian candidate Lucas Overby had not been included on all ballots in the special election for the U.S. House of Representatives on March 11th, 2014. The LPPC launched an investigation, utilizing their own funds, with the Supervisor of Elections to ensure that all voters in Pinellas County had an equal chance to vote for the candidate of their choice.

Formanyyears,Ihaveencouragedvoterstounderstandthattheirvoteistheirvoice,KarenaMorrison,chair ofLPPC,explained.Butifthevotersarentprovidedwithalloftheiroptions,thepeoplesvoiceswontbeheard. Wewantedtoensurethattheballotsincludedtheopportunityforthevoterstoselectoneoutofallthequalied candidatesinthiselection." SeveralmembersoftheLPPC,alongsideLibertarianGubernatorialcandidate,AdrianWyllie,reviewedover 5,000ballotsfromallovercongressionaldistrict13onTuesday.KarenaMorrisonwantedtothankthePinellas CountySupervisorofElectionsfortheirprofessionalismandhowhelpfultheywereingatheringtherequested ballotsandexplainingtheballotingprocesstotheLPPCteam.SheandMr.

    Wylliewerealsohappytoreport thatnoevidenceofMr.Overbybeingleftofftheballotswasfound. "Afterreviewingabroadsamplingoftheballots,I'mcondentwiththeaccuracyandfairnessofthespecial election,Mr.Wylliesaiduponcompletionofthereview.IcommendthePinellasCountySupervisorof Electionsofcewithajobwelldone." Whenreachedouttoforcomment,MrOverbystated,IamveryhappythattheLPPCwasabletocheckinto theconcernsofseveralvotersandevenhappierthattherewerenoissuesfound.Itisoneofthemissionsof ourpartytoinsurefairandequitableelections,regardlessoftheiroutcome,andthisisanimportantpublic service.
