Compulsary Service Pack Upgrade for Oracle Users

Description
There is a compulsary upgrade for those Tribon users that use Oracle for the database. The upgrade can be done from any previous M3 version. The upgrade scripts are located in the OraInstall directory and the procedure is further described in the README file there. The M3 Requirements on Oracle are still Oracle 9.2.0.4 and client 9.2.0.4 (Oracle 9.2.0.x uprgrade with patchset #3095277). SQL*Plus is used for execution of installation scripts. Always make a backup before attempting upgrade or migration operations.

Benefits
This is a compulsary update for Oracle users.

Design Manager Parts List Window

Description
The Parts List Window of Design Manager is improved such that it is now possible to hide columns. A new function, Send to Vitesse, is also available from the parts list window. By this function the parts in the window are sent as input to a Tribon Vitesse trigger.

Improved WCOG Calculation

Description
The WCOG calculations in the Tribon systems have up until now been made slightly differently in different programs. This means that in some cases the result has differed between the modules which could be very confusing. In M3SP4 this has now been changed so that all modules (except the ones based on the Design Manager framework) calculate the WCOG in a uniform way. The WCOG calculations are in the new solution made in two steps. A preliminary WCOG value is calculated for each component when the planar or curved panel is stored. This simple calculation does not consider excess, shrinkage, "compensation" (CMP) for plates and endcuts, notches, cutouts or holes for profiles. When the component is released for production (using ppanparts or cpanparts) a new exact calculation is made. This is done both with and without excess and shrinkage. Both sets of WCOG values are stored in the planar panel, curved plate or shell stiffener object. When the WCOG value is to be presented or used in some other way, the stored value is simply retrieved from the model. This ensures that all applications will give the same result.

A new IP file, wcog.ip, has been introduced. This file is in control of all modules performing WCOG calculations. The IP file can be customized using the START_GROUP/ END_GROUP keywords. The IP WCOG_MODE can have the values EXACT and EXACT_WITHOUT_EXCESS to enable user control regarding which of the two exact values to use. A condition for the IP to have any effect is that the exact values have been calculated and stored in the model. Otherwise only the simple values are delivered. In an old project the model does not initially contain any stored exact values and therefore only simple values can be delivered until the exact values have been established via runs of ppanparts or cpanparts.
