Overview

The purpose of this document is to describe the features of AC100-SP-BG, and also the procedure and methodology of configuring and using the AC100-SP-BG access point.

AC100-SP-BG Web-based Interface

Web-based configuration interface is accessible using a computer with TCP/IP capability and a web browser (e.g. Mozilla or IE). To access the web-based configuration interface, enter

http://<Device IP>/. In the browser URL/Location field. You will see an authentication page display as shown in Figure 3.1.1.

Type admin in the User Name field and 5up in the Password field and then click on OK button.

AC100-SP-BG page has six main menus: Status, Wireless, Network, Advance, Management and Tools. Each main menu will also have its submenus. Home and Reset button are available on the top right side to show the AC100-SP-BG home page and reboot the system, respectively. Status

4.1 Status > Main


Status page will display the current system status of AC100-SP-BG access point. Figure 4.1.1 illustrates the system status page.

System Uptime System uptime in the format: day, hours, minute. For example, Uptime 0 days, 0 hrs, 40 minutes

4.2 Status > Client List


Client list page will display the wireless clients details that are associated with the access point. Figure 4.2.1 illustrates the client list page.

Wireless client list page contains the following parameters: MAC Address MAC address of the wireless client IP Address IP address of the wireless client Mode Wireless mode of the wireless client Rate Bit-rate of the wireless client Signal Signal strength of the wireless client

4.3 Status > Access Point


The access point page will display all available access points that are scanned by AC100-SPBG. Figure 4.3.1 Illustrates the access point page.

Click on Select button to configure the security settings of AC100-SP-BG access point as shown in Figure 5.1.3. Click on Refresh button to reload/refresh the access point list.

4.4 Status > System Log


The system log page will display all the system log messages. Figure 4.4.1 illustrates the system log page.

System log page contains the following parameters: Type Type of the system log message. Time Time when the system log message was generated. Message Description of the system log message.

Clicking on Show Log Type drop down menu, the user can filter between the different type of log messages alert, critical, debug, emergency, error, info, notice, warning, or all.

5.1 Wireless > Wireless Setting


Figure 5.1.1 illustrates the AP configuration page for AC100-SP-BG. Configure Operation Mode to choose between different operating modes available. Configure Wireless Setting to change the SSID profile settings and also the general wireless settings.

Wireless settings contain the following parameters: Device Name Enter the device name for AC100-SP-BG. Operating Mode Click on Operating Mode drop down menu to choose between different operating modes available Access Point, Access Point Router, Repeater, Client Bridge or Client Router Click on the Save button (available below the operation mode) to save any changes made to the operating mode. A confirmation page will be displayed as shown in Figure 5.1.2

o Click on Confirm button to confirm the changes made to the operating mode o Click on Cancel button to cancel the changes made to the operating mode Tick on the required SSID Profile to select that particular profile Click on the SSID Profile Setting Edit button to edit the selected SSID profile as shown in Figure 5.1.3 (for Access Point and Access Point Router modes) and Figure 5.1.4 (for Repeater, Client Bridge and Client Router modes)

Security - Security type of the Associated/Available access points Click on the Select button to configure the wireless settings of AC100-SP-BG as shown in figure 5.1.4. Click on the Refresh button to reload/refresh the access point list. o VLAN ID Click on the VLAN ID drop down menu to select VLAN. Click on Configure Vlan available next to the VALN ID drop down list box to configure the VLAN settings as shown in Figure 6.1.1. o Suppressed SSID Tick on Suppressed SSID box to enable SSID suppression o Station Separation Choose Enable or Disable radio buttons to enable or disable station separation

o Security Mode - Click on the Security Mode drop down menu to select Disable or WEP in the wireless security type. Selecting WEP from the drop down menu will display Auth Type, Input Type, Key Length and Default Key drop down menus and Key 1, Key 2, Key 3, Key 4 fields as shown in Figure 5.1.6.

Input Type Click on Input Type drop down menu to select between HEX and ASCII. Key Length Click on Key Length drop down menu to select between 40/64bit (10 hex digits or 5 ASCII char) and 108/128bit (26 hex digits or 13 ASCII char). Default Key Click on Default Key drop down menu to select between 1, 2, 3 and 4. Key 1, Key 2, Key 3, Key 4 Enter security key into Key 1, Key 2, Key 3 or Key 4 field.

Click on Save button to save any changes made to the settings.

Channel Bandwidth Click on Channel Bandwidth to select the required channel bandwidth

802.11 Mode Click on 802.11 Mode drop down menu to select between the different available bands

Channel Click on Channel drop down menu to select between different operating frequencies available (in GHz)

Output Power Enter or adjust the output power of the device Data Rate Click on Data Rate drop down menu to select between different data rates available

5.2 Wireless > WDS


Figure 5.2.1 illustrates the WDS AP configuration page for AC100-SP-BG. WDS expanded wireless network by connected to multiple access points.

Click on Configure Vlan available next to VLAN ID drop down list box to configure VLAN setting as shown in Figure 6.1.1. o Security Mode - Click on Security Mode drop down menu to select between Disable, WEP or AES (128 bit) wireless security type. Selecting WEP or AES (128 bit) will display Auth Type, Input Type, Key Length, Default Key drop down menu and Key 1, Key 2, Key 3, Key 4 field as shown in Figure 5.2.3 and Figure 5.2.4, respectively.

5.3 Wireless > MAC Filtering


Figure 5.3.1 illustrates the MAC Address Filtering configuration page for AC100-SP-BG. Here you can restrict some computers from accessing the network by specifying their Mac addresses.

Figure 5.3.1: MAC Address Filtering configuration page MAC Address Filtering contains the following parameters: ACL Mode Click on ACL Mode drop down menu to select between Disabled, Allow or Block MAC address. Selecting Allow or Block will display MAC address filtering table as shown in Figure 5.3.2.

Figure 5.3.2: MAC Address Filtering Allow or Block configuration page o Enter a MAC address and click on Add button to add that MAC address into MAC address filtering table, as shown in Figure 5.3.3.

6.1 Network > Bridge

Figure 6.1.1: VLAN configuration page VLAN Setting contains the following parameters: Name Displays the name of the VLAN IP Displays IP address of the VLAN Netmask Display netmask of the VLAN VID Displays VLAN ID of the VLAN Enable Tick on Enable check box to enable or disable the selected VLAN Edit Click on Edit button to edit the selected VLAN, as shown in Figure 6.1.2

Figure 6.1.2: VLAN Edit page o Mode Select between DHCP or static. If DHCP is selected VLAN would get IP via DHCP and if static is selected the user can enter the required IP address. Selecting Static mode will display some parameters as shown in Figure 6.1.3

Figure 8.1.1 illustrates the Web configuration page for AC100-SP-BG. Web configuration page is used to change the AC100-SP-BG web configurations like username and password.

Figure 8.2.1 illustrates the SNMP configuration page for AC100-SP-BG. Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is used to monitor devices for conditions that warrant administrative attention.

Figure 8.4.1 illustrates the Firmware Upgrade Setting page for AC100-SP-BG. Firmware upgrade setting allows the user to upgrade the device to the latest firmware.

Figure 8.5.1 illustrates the Backup and Restore page for AC100-SP-BG. Click on backup to save a copy of the current settings Click on restore to restore the saved settings from the backup file Click on Factory default to revert the device to the factory set configuration

Figure 8.6.1 illustrates the Local Time Setting page for AC100-SP-BG. The user can set the local time and date manually or automatically get the date and time set in the device using the NTP server.

Figure 8.6.1: Local Time Setting page Local Time Setting contains the following parameters: Time Select the local time setting between Manual and Automatic Manually Set Date and Time If you want to enter the date and time manually select Manually Set Date and Time from the option available. Enter date and time in the format (yyyy/mm/dd hh:mm) Time Zone If you select automatic then select the time zone from the various time zones available User defined NTP Server Click on User defined NTP Server to enable synchronizing the system clocks via the defined NTP server. Enter NTP server IP address into the User defined NTP Server field Click on Save button to save any changes made to the settings.

Figure 8.7.1 illustrates the Log Notification page for AC100-SP-BG. Log can notify log messages locally and also remotely.
