Student Teaching Experience


1st grade, Ely Learning Bridge Charter School, White Pine County School District Classroom Highlights Applied and maintained classroom procedures and routines for management purposes including positive reinforcement, use of intrinsic rewards, and assigning leadership roles to students. Developed and implemented math units which encouraged hands-on activities, the integration of Core Knowledge, use of technology and hands-on manipulatives, and differentiation based on students needs, readiness, and interests. Additional Activities Attended and contributed to PTCO meetings, staff book club meetings, and staff meetings. Attended Board Meetings at the school. Member of the Playground and Building Improvement Committees. Assisted in coordinating and organizing family nights. Participated in all available professional development workshops.

Fieldwork Experience
Spring of 2011 to Fall of 2013 White Pine Middle School (6th grade), David E. Norman Elementary School (2nd Grade), McGill Elementary (5th grade), Ely Learning Bridge Charter School (Kindergarten) Developed and taught a math lesson utilizing literature integration, hands-on manipulatives, and a cooperative learning activity for 2nd grade students. Utilized differentiation and engagement strategies in lessons to meet students needs and support them in a 6th grade remedial reading class where 100% of the students were below grade average in reading and English skills. Assisted with small group instruction in reading, mathematics, and English with groups of 5th grade SpED identified students requiring a variety of teaching styles to meet the students needs. Participated in the after-school tutoring of identified at-risk students grades K-2 in mathematics, phonics, and reading instruction.

Tutoring Experience
Great Basin College English & Writing Tutor Fall of 2012-2013 Tutored English 096, 097, and 101 students in individual and small group settings. Used a variety of tutoring strategies to effectively assist students at various levels. Collaborated with English Professors to ensure students made progress towards academic goals.

Management & Communication Experience
