El objetivo primordial del curso es contribuir a la enseanza de la lengua inglesa, profundizando el dominio de la misma en un contexto histrico, literario y artstico

El objetivo general del curso es contribuir a la enseanza de la lengua inglesa profundizando el dominio de la misma en un contexto literario, histrico y artstico. Esta asignatura de carcter terico prctico tiene como objetivo aproximar a los alumnos en forma crtica a algunas manifestaciones literarias relevantes de la cultura anglo-sajona. Para el logro de este objetivo se brindar una visin panormica de la historia de la literatura inglesa y de algunas de las distintas corrientes literarias de la misma, identificando las etapas, movimientos y tendencias que marcan su evolucin desde el perodo Anglo-sajn hasta Shakespeare. Esta panormica brindar una base slida para la lectura y posterior anlisis de textos representativos de las distintas etapas de esa evolucin y de distintos gneros literarios. Utilizando una perspectiva metodolgica terico-prctica se pretende adems favorecer la autonoma, responsabilidad y cooperacin en el aprendizaje, y al tiempo desarrollar en los alumnos el sentido crtico, la capacidad de conceptualizacin y el placer de la lectura.

Especficos: 1. Dar a los alumnos una visin panormica de las distintas etapas en la evolucin de la literatura angloparlantes. 2. Brindar conocimientos bsicos de los distintos movimientos literarios a travs de la lectura de las obras ms representativas de los mismos. 3. Ofrecer un panorama general de la literatura de los pueblos de habla inglesa desde el perodo Anglosajn hasta el perodo isabelino, identificando los movimientos, gneros, estilos y algunos de los autores ms representativos de cada etapa. 4. Desarrollar en el estudiante el empleo de las tcnicas necesarias para una correcta lectura, anlisis e interpretacin de los textos dentro de los distintos contextos socio culturales que les corresponden.
