TKCs Heckling FAQ

Introduction Hello reader, the purpose of this document is to give you exact answers to the many questions that are asked of TKC. Most do not fully understand the purpose of our play style, and of those that do, several disagree wholeheartedly with our ideals. In the time TKC has existed we have come across numerous opponents who wish to interrogate and ostracize members of communities such as ours. It is our hope that you will listen to our views without bias, and allow yourself to be open to unorthodox styles of play, of which you are not accustomed to. TKC realizes and understands however that for some, an unpartisan frame of mind is not possible. With regard to these individuals, we caution that reading further may frustrate and anger you, and therefore it is suggested that you consider exiting now. When ideologies clash, stubbornness and resentment are a likely outcome for those weak of mind and character; the topic of the opposing viewpoints is highly irrelevant. TKC has found that those who have made themselves outspoken against all forms of heckling often exhibit these characteristics. If you hold strong, negative views against TKC and choose to continue reading in spite of our warning, then bare in mind that no one is forcing you to read this document. Complaining later, that this guide was a waste of your time will make you look foolish, as we are assuring you now that this in all likelihood will be your sentiment. It is deemed too late and meaningless to attempt the views of such persons in regard to these matters. TKCs invitation to read further is especially extended to players unfamiliar with our community and gaming methods; to educate themselves on what we are about and if interested, to join us. There are many questions that have been asked of TKC during our time in the gaming community, and we will answer them to the best of our ability. TKC has also encountered many arguments against heckling, and they will be addressed as well. It is suggested that before you divulged further, you take a moment to review the glossary at the end of this FAQ to familiarize yourself with various terms throughout this document. Some terms you are probably familiar with already, while others are unique to TKC and as such, the reader should make himself familiar. Without further delay, we now move on to answering the many questions players are wanting to know, starting with the most common.

Why Do We Cheat/Team Kill/Annoy?

Were afraid there isnt a single be all, end all answer to that question. The reasons are many, and vary from one player to another. For most, enjoyment is the primary aim in one form or another, but there are other reasons. Over time, we have encountered multiple stories from

hecklers and will share with you all the motivators and explanations that TKC is aware of. To start with, wed like to make you familiar with the TKC creed:

The Creed of TKC

Mission Statement We at TKC are members of a gaming community dedicated to the advancement of online cheating, teamkilling, and other forms of unconventional gameplay; better known as "Heckling". Our primary goal is to develop and teach methods of prolonging the gaming experience through these means. TKC also aims to publicly legitimize all styles of heckling; that despite arguments of cynicism, this method of play can be quite enjoyable and worthwhile for a significant and ever increasing number of players. Gaming Philosophy Games, above all else must be fun for the player. Player referencing the individual who is playing the game, not the gaming community as a whole. When a game has lost its entertainment value, there ceases to be a purpose to play. Players have the right to due whatever is necessary to perpetuate or resurrect enjoyment in a game for as long as desired, and this right need not be sacrificed for the enjoyment of fellow players. Cheating Philosophy As with real life, there are many different types of people present in online gaming, with many different tastes. Some are content with a game as it was intended for play by the developers, while others are not. We do not agree with the notion that if one is not satisfied with a game the way it was developed, that a player should look for another game to play. When a game does not meet ones expectations, or has lost its former appeal, the use of game modification techniques is encouraged to create a better gameplay experience for the player. This same belief applies to unintended coding vulnerabilities as well. Player vs. Community Philosophy As mentioned above, an individual player's right to enjoy a game is absolute in our eyes and does not need to be compromised for the enjoyment of others. This belief extends from two facts. One, players do not know personally the people with whom they play with; they are complete strangers meeting online for entertainment. And two, no matter what a player does to others during a match and no matter how they react; at the end of the day its still only a game. The belief that one must show respect to their fellow players is not shared in this community.

Respect is something that must be earned through time, not automatically given to strangers in an online game.

Our creed is a summary of what TKC stands for and believes in. More detailed explanations concerning specific motives and responses to arguments are outlined below. Well begin with in depth explanations as to what drives our actions. Later on, arguments made against heckling will be addressed. The author has attempted to given enough detail to each separate issue in order to provide adequate understanding and clarity. While at the same time being careful not to drag the explanation out beyond what is necessary to accomplish these ends. If upon examination of a particular topic you find yourself unclear as to the reasoning behind it, feel free to inquiry our members further on our forums. That being said, enjoy the rest of the FAQ.

Motives For Heckling

To Prolong The Gaming Experience: The first and foremost motive for our gameplay style is to prolong the gaming experience. All games, regardless of quality and initial enjoyment will begin to irk the player as time goes by. Every map played, every objective completed, every class and weapon mastered, every nuance uncovered, until there is nothing left to engross the player further. It is at this stage that TKCers invoke other means of revitalizing and prolonging the enjoyment derived from their games. By introducing additional elements into our games, new possibilities arise and previously unexplored gaming paths open to us. Although other members of the gaming community may choose not to partake in such activities, we at TKC find the forbidden fruit of heckling quite a refreshing and enjoyable change of pace from the repetitive and lackluster gaming rituals of the past.

Companionship Most people naturally seek out comradely with others who share similar interests, whether online or off. Either being hecklers themselves, or simply players who enjoy their company; they get involved to be part of a group. It is not unheard of for players who have long stopped playing a game to stay active in communities that they once belonged that discuss it. Some people will question or outright criticize someone for choosing TKC members as online

buddies, but truth be told were not all that bad to be around. This is assuming an individual or group hasnt made it their prerogative to lambaste us, as those who do receive a less than courteous side of our nature.

To Challenge Ourselves Despite the misconception that there is no challenge in cheating, there is. Its just not a challenge in the traditional means in many players usually associate with. Yes, by using cheats the player often gains an advantage that subtracts from the challenge of the game proportional to the effectiveness of the particular cheat(s) he is using. However, this is only in terms of mission objectives, and other aims (i.e., highest kill ratio). As hecklers, we often create new, selfimposed challenges from a different angel of which we aspire to achieve. Challenges such as How long can I survive if the enemy and my own teammates are both trying to kill me? or If I hide behind the map with the enemy flag, how long will it take them to notice? or How many people can I fool by using a skin hack to appear as a player on the opposing team? This challenge of course goes beyond the gameplay itself, as those who develop cheats seek to expand their knowledge of game modification techniques. They consider it a worthy challenge to try to stay one step ahead of the developers anti-cheat measures, and 3 rd party software such as Punk Buster.

Amusement Even those who are against heckling often find certain exploits and cheats to be amusing when they are first introduced. Such an example would be the infamous tree hack for Vietcong, whereby a player would don a rather large oak tree upon his head, making him visible throughout the entire map. Sometimes a few players cant escape the urge to use the cheat on the basis of humor and originality. Hecklers like these incorporate such tactics to entertain themselves as well as others by running their own talent show of sorts. They do not intend to upset or disturb other players, but instead merely interrupt the action for a short moment to say Hey, look at this! Usually they frown upon more intrusive acts of heckling, as their personality resembles a more I want to laugh with you, not at you attitude.

Offline Hecklers As we are all aware, there are people from all walks of life who enjoy making life difficult for others. They are for one reason or another, genuinely sadistic people that go to great links in order to make others miserable. Naturally, when they take up online gaming their attitude towards life is represented in their gaming style. For them, heckling online is merely the logical extension of their real life personalities.

For Attention We wont lie to you that yes, as hecklers many of us at times do enjoy the attention that results from annoying other players. Depending on the situation we sometimes seek responses that range from sheer astonishment, to laughter, to complete rage. All sorts of banter from others we play with provide us with half the entertainment of playing. Players sometimes realize this and try to completely ignore us in the hopes that we will give up and either stop disrupting the game and play normally, or leave the server altogether. In these situations, we sometimes challenge ourselves to see if our abilities as a heckler are superior than their supposed iron will not to be bothered. Its interesting battles such as these that help us hone our skills in this area, and allow us to find new ways to shake things up.

Non-Conformity Individuals who go out of their way to be different from the majority may adopt the heckling play style as a means of rebellion. They may not necessarily find heckling more enjoyable than standard play, but their desire not to fit the mold takes them in that direction. This is usually the extreme end of the spectrum for these types of players however, as usually an act much subtler such as playing with an unpopular class, weapon, or map is enough to satisfy their urges.

Kiss Ass It is not uncommon for a young person to look up to a super hero, star athlete, or rock star, but an online heckler? Yup, believe it or not it happens. Sometimes we receive posts, emails, and IMs from players who are trying their darnedest to impress us and give them recognition. Perhaps they see us as a type of online gang of Robin Hoods; heroes of sorts who are not popular with the monarchs and clergy. Whatever their motive, players do on occasion brown nose to be acknowledged and credited. TKC is not the first such community to receive this type of grandeur; for years the infamous myg0t clan has received dozens of pleas almost daily from players desperately trying to join their ranks.

Revenge Some gamers incorporate heckling as a means to get even at others. In most cases a gamer has become so enraged by other hecklers, that they too adopt the play style in order to give them a taste of their own medicine. Other times a former clan member has been

excommunicated from their group for one reason or another. Spoiling the enjoyment of his former clan then becomes a motivator. Although these are two classic cases, revenge can be directed towards any number of other people or things, such as: A Single Individual or Group Developers of The Game Administrator of A Server Rival Clans

Regardless of the focus of the aggression, most hecklers motivated by revenge are only temporary. Once they have achieved the desired result, or caused enough collateral damage, they usually calm down to the point where they no longer wish to continue. There are exceptions of course, as some players during their escapade become intoxicated with the rush of heckling, and thus adopt the gameplay style from then onward.

Advertisement While having fun doing what TKC does best, members often keep an eye open for new members to join our ranks. Not everyone becomes offended by what we do; in fact some players become intrigued right away. For those that already play the same way we do, or would be interested in adopting the style, we advertise our community to them. Thus making TKC known to all and thus increasing our numbers.

Get An Edge While we caution that most hecklers are just as skilled as the next player, there are bound to be a few who honestly need the extra edge a cheat provides. Just as Athletes take steroids for an added boost, there are players who think to themselves Whats the harm of using just one little cheat? Perhaps they dont have the time nor the inclination to put in the necessary hours of practice; or just simply arent coordinated with a mouse and keyboard. Wherever their deficiency may lie, they just cannot bring their abilities up to par compared to others. But it is a small minority that fits this description, as most players who are interested in a game to the point where they spend time looking for cheats, are also dedicated enough to be proficient.

By Accident While nearly all forms of heckling are deliberate when implemented, on occasion you will find someone inadvertently causing havoc during a match. In all likelihood they are n00bs who just started playing the game, and havent learned the fundamentals yet. Perhaps they are confused as to which team they belong to and therefore kill their teammates, deprived of any

malicious intent. Likewise, the player could be attempting to memorize the voice chat commands by using them repeatedly, mimicking that of a spammer. Another possibility is that the player is using another persons computer who has cheats enabled, and may be using an aimbot or other modification without knowing it.

To Spy Unfortunately, not everyone who joins us agrees with what we do. Some players pretend to support TKC, while secretly trying to disrupt our efforts. They try to find out all that they can about our cheats and methods of play and relate that information to others who then attempt to blockade us from progress. Usually we spot these imposters rather quickly, although one jerk managed to successfully infiltrate hidden areas of our community and leak our secrets to the developers. We eventually caught him and banned him from returning, although we are now much more selective of whom we trust as a result.

Arguments Against Heckling

Youre Destroying The Game Wrong. We are revitalizing the game, not atomizing it. Would changing the shape or texture of an object necessarily spoil it? We do not believe so. Lets take a look at what it means to destroy a game. Destroy: To put an end to; ruin; or kill. Putting an end to games is the exact opposite of our intentions. Instead we aim to revitalize games through introducing new and distinct game play mechanics. Some players may feel that heckling ruins their enjoyment of the game. However, their individual perception of what creates satisfaction is not contingent to the entire gaming community. And just as sure as a video game is not a living being, it of course cannot be killed either. Players who refuse to adapt to new styles of play may find it intolerable to continue playing under these conditions. This is their prerogative however, and does not subtract from the game as a whole.

Play On Your Own Servers We do. As often as we can we run our own servers in order to test and distribute cheats, exploits, and other information. We also hold clan matches against the general public once a week (usually). However, limiting the use of our gameplay mechanics to our own servers would

be pointless. Everyone involved would act in the same manner and use identical cheats. Since we are all from the same community, there would be no surprise or randomization to the matches, and as such would be just as dull as standard play. Playing against other heckling communities would add replay value, but there are currently too few communities of such nature and even fewer servers that cater to hecklers. This tide seems to be changing with an ever-increasing interest in communities such as ours, but for the time being this prospect isnt readily available. You see its the change in pattern that gives heckling such appeal. The redirection of focus and tempo that drives us. We enjoy breaking and recreating the rules; restricting ourselves to our own servers would not accomplish this goal.

If You Cant Have Fun Without Heckling Then Quit Playing This is an ignobly foolish argument that rests on the hands of circular logic. Lets break this one down into simple steps, shall we? First, people play games for their amusement, correct? Ceasing this activity would then cause an end of the desired outcome (fun), which would result in an undesirable consequence (loss of enjoyment). Therefore, the common sense conclusion would be to continue playing as long as it is appealing to the player. Yes, we do realize that the prospect of hecklers not playing may be blissful to some. But remember, we play for our own enjoyment, not theirs. This argument also makes those who use it seem just as selfish as they make us out to be; practically insisting If you wont play by my rules then you cant play at all. In fact, it is highly suggested that if hecklers bother someone to such an extent that they start to see things in this way, then perhaps it is time that these individuals took a break from online gaming themselves.

There Is No Challenge In Cheating This argument is based on the presumption that all types of challenges require strict adherence to the rules, and therefore does not cover the term challenge in the boarder sense. Since our detractors can only focus on this sole aspect of challenge, we will ignore the many types of challenges that are excluded. When speaking of challenge in terms of standard measures (i.e., mission objectives), yes it is true that cheats normally reduce a game's challenge. The degree to which the challenge is reduced depends on the extent of modification the cheat performs. Something as harmless as changing the skin color of a player model has little impact on challenge. While an Aimbot, Wallhack, or similar cheat reduces the difficultly factor significantly. So yes, we do admit that many cheats do reduce the challenge in the traditional sense. In the end however this is immaterial. As the first and foremost goal of all games is to have fun. Challenge, although an important aspect, is not the only determining factor in this regard. A rather large number of players seem to make a direct, all-inclusive link between standard challenges and enjoyment. This is a sad and narrow view of the issue, as there are many

more dynamic and intriguing methods to obtain this objective. Standard challenges are one path to online fun, but they are not the only path.

You Are Ruining Other Peoples Fun Or is it you who is allowing your fun to be ruined? How another player chooses to go about enjoying his or her copy of a game shouldnt matter to someone who is a down to earth individual. In terms of cheats, if someone happens to be using an aimbot or wallhack so what? Continue playing the way you usually do, it isnt as if your players character has been crippled in anyway so it should be immaterial to you. Many times players quit having fun in sight of hecklers because they cherish outdated gameplay to that of a holy grail. They dont need to realize that there are other ways to derive pleasure from gaming than having the highest kill ratio. Granted, there are exceptions, as heckling also evokes team killing, harassment, and general non-sense. As expected, such acts will cause some players to become irate. Admittedly we have a very egocentric view of online gaming, and this is where our ideologies with others clash. Our detractors insist that there is an unwritten and unified code of ethics to be followed amongst gamers; we do not share this belief. To us, the primary function of a game is enjoyment for the individual player, not to the gaming community as a whole.

Anti-Cheat Measures Will Stop You That must be some magic 8-ball TKCs detractors have there, ours says future unclear. It is not possible to predict the level of success hackers will have in the years to come with game modification techniques. Foolhardy it would be to completely dismiss the abilities of hackers, or those who feel destined to try and stop them. The short history of this ongoing battle suggests that it will be a never-ending struggle; a tug of war that will go back and forth as long as conflicting interests exist. It could be (although it is highly unlikely) that someday an anti-cheat device will be so advanced that all types of cheats will be prevented forever. It is equally plausible however that the reverse could come true. In the mean time, well do our part to prolong the gaming experience and enjoy the ride, wherever the final destination may take us.

Cheaters Have No Skill A common misconception, brought about from animosity and frustration of our detractors. There are few requirements to become proficient at video games. Eyesight, working hands & fingers, and practicethats it. Physical fitness is hardly a prerequisite, and it is unlikely that there is such a thing as natural talent when it comes to gaming. Basically anyone who plays a game long enough will become skilled over time, some take longer than others, but

nearly everyone gets the hang of it after a while. Just because someone chooses a different approach to gaming does not mean that their skills are sub par. Although there are some cheaters who honestly arent very good at online games, most have no trouble performing well under the same standard methods of play as others. In general the skill of cheaters vs. standard players is comparable with little to no disparity.

Server Admins Will Ban You People have to take risks in their lives in order to achieve their goals; otherwise life would be overly simplistic and uneventful. The prospect of being banned from servers is a genuine risk that we must unfortunately take to gain the enjoyment we seek. Luckily for us there are always more servers around than admins to ban us. Trying to ban all hecklers from all servers would be a daunting, nay impossible task. We are also fortuitous that there are many ways to prevent, avoid, or undue being banned in many situations. Escaping a ban are one of the new challenges born from our new gameplay style, and therefore is actually part of fun.

Hecklers Are Cowards Hiding Behind Their PCs Your understanding of meta physics must be entirely different than ours. The discernment we had is that a human being cannot digitize himself through the cyber world and reappear in your living room to be face to face with you. Seriously though, of course were behind our PCs, this in the Internet, there is no other form of communication that can take place without being in front of a monitor and keyboard. The individuals who make insinuating comments like this dont seem to realize that they are actually describing their own actions, thereby labeling themselves hypocrites. They seem oblivious to the fact that they are indeed hiding behind their PCs; trying to pick a fight with someone they know cannot enact any consequence on them beyond the scope of the online world. Why some believe this is even an issue is baffling; when did these people even get the impression that hecklers were trying to act tough? We are just a segment of players trying to enjoy online gaming; our actions make us no more brave nor cowardly than any other gamer hiding behind their PC. When it comes to such matters, bravery really isnt an issue one way or another; and even if it were, there is no way to measure bravery in a medium of this nature.

All Hecklers Are 12-Year-Olds/Script Kiddies/Punks/Terrorists/Whatever And all Jews have big noses, all black people cant see at night, and all Asians eat ricegive us a break. Stereotyping is a sad practice, online or off. The truth is the heckling community is a diverse group of individuals consisting of different ethnicities, ages, families, and social standings. You cannot accurately group together gaming hecklers anymore than you

can group together the gaming community as a whole, or any other community for that manner. Remember, it wasnt too long ago that all gamers (hecklers or not) were considered losers, void of any social life. Stereotyped people with thick horn rimmed glasses that had a bug collection and laughed with a snort. Over the years this negative image has shed away, and in time the same erroneous projection of hecklers will dissipate as well.

Its Illegal This issue is a very complex one that greatly varies depending on exactly what type of action you are referring to, as well as which manufacture developed the game. To be sure, there is no law against team killing, using exploits, or being a general nuisance. What most people are referring to within this argument is developing and using cheats. As previously stated, the particulars of this matter vary quite a bit depending on the license agreement coupled with the game. That, and the fact that the language of legalese can easily be misinterpreted due to its perplexing nature. Most license agreements however do consist of terms that basically state that you may not modify the game files. We wont try to skate the issue, it is a stipulation that we strongly do not agree with and refuse to abide by, plain and simple. To us, this ridiculous notion is akin to tags on mattresses that insist that you cannot remove them. We find it preposterous that someone who has shelled out hard earned money for an over priced video game can be told they cannot modify it. Do manufactures of PCs make it illegal to over clock a processor? Can Ford make it illegal to put in a Chevy engine under your hood? You see our point. But do not bundle together the issues of modifying a game with the use or distribution of pirated software, they are entirely separate matters (In the past a few individuals have actually confused these matters).

No One Will Respect You TKC is aware that not many players hold us in the highest regard due to our mischievous nature. But the fact remains that this has never been one of our goals. Of what benefit would it be to us of going out of our way to obtain the respect of other players? The path suggested by our detractors goes a little something like this. You join a server; you play until you are done, a few may admire your skills, one might give you a compliment, you then leave the server, and rarely if ever see or hear from them again. This is someones notion of a good time? We would concur if someone were speaking in terms of a sports team and a player aimed to improve themselves in order to win the admiration of their teammates in real life, but in a video game? Hardly a productive use of someones time in our view. This doesnt mean that some of us do not get on friendly terms with others we play with. Fellows that show us respect in spite of what we do, or are general good sports about it will often be left alone compared to those who curse us or try to get us kicked/banned. Even players who disagree with us have our respect if

they voice it in a mature manner and are willing to hold a conversation on other topics. It is for this reason we are on good terms with members of the GoB (Gathering of the Banned) community, where several members do not approve of heckling.

Hecklers Are Selfish Perhaps, as noted elsewhere we do have an egocentric view of online gaming. An individual players right to enjoy the game in any fashion he chooses is paramount in our view. To us, putting your desires second to that of others is a big sacrifice with little to no reward. A lot of effort for nothing in return, and it isnt at all appealing to us. Selflessness is a trait that we do carry in other forms however. We share all our knowledge and cheats with the entire gaming community. Other cheating communities/clans often keep their discoveries secret, attempting to raise their own image in the view of others. Our community also goes out of its way to help others who are looking to prolong the gaming experience in any capacity that we are able.

Taking Advantage Of Exploits Is Wrong Says who, the developers? But isnt it their responsibility to ensure that bugs do not seep into the games final release? Since they are the ones being paid at our expense, we believe it is. Our response to whether it is reasonable to expect a player not to take advantage of a gaming exploit, well thats like laying a stack of 50s in front of a total stranger, leaving the room and expecting none to be missing when you return. Exploits can cause numerous expected results, varying from getting the player stuck, to a method for unlimited ammo, to flying and many more. The effects can be quite interesting, and often humorous. The result is a unique alteration of gameplay which brings enjoyment to those who are open minded. You certainly cant reprimand us on legal grounds, as there is nothing in license agreements that stipulate that you cannot take advantage of unintended coding vulnerabilities. In the end there is nothing immoral about using bugs to your advantage, we consider them welcomed features that developers added to the game by accident.

Other Questions
Do You Always Disturb Gameplay? Negative. We do not completely disregard the enjoyment derived from standard play. In fact most of us regularly play without using cheats, exploits or even causing trouble. This is especially true during the early stages of play when the game is still fresh and new. We take time to learn how the controls, maps, weapons, and other features offered from traditional style

gameplay. Its only when the game starts to feel stale that we resort to heckling to revitalize our interest in the game. By implementing different gameplay mechanics the enjoyment of a game can reach unparalleled heights, and for much longer periods of time. In a manner of speaking, heckling is the way we get the most for our gaming buck.

Why Not Play Death Match Instead Of Teamkilling? A reasonable inquiry. You see, we enjoy bending and breaking the rules, then developing new ones. Shooting someone who is completely oblivious to your intentions gives it a unique type of thrill. By playing death match the surprise is gone, and therefore so is the thrill. We enjoy teamkilling because it is unorthodox, unexpected, and quite honestly gives us a good laugh. Everything that gives teamkilling its value; its appeal, is lost when there is no betrayal. In fact, when playing in death matches there can be no team killing as there is are no teams.

Is TKC The Same As myg0t? Many people, both supporters and opponents of our community have made comparisons between TKC and myg0t. Without a doubt there are many obvious similarities between the two communities. myg0t also encourages cheating, teamkilling, and many different forms of harassment against other players. What TKC refers to as heckling or hecklers, myg0t calls raging or ragers. While hecklers do at times take enjoyment from annoying other players and their frustrated responses, it is only a single aspect. myg0t instead focuses all their efforts on enraging other players until they lose their composure and swear at the offender in a blind rage. The higher the number and degree to which they can irritate others, is the scale of which someone is respected within their clan and community. myg0ts in general are far more aggressive than TKCers, even without someone or something to provoke them. Verbal thrashings are not limited to detractors either, as it is frequently observed that those who are attempting to seek admission into their clan, and even those who are already members, are cursed at and degraded on a regular basis. Most members of the myg0t community frequently communicate using elite speak (see glossary) instead of actual English or other natural languages. Our communities are different in terms of our reach as well; TKC is now making a shift to focus on several online games at once, while myg0t concentrates all their efforts solely on Counter Strike. Another notable trait of myg0t is frequent references to Nazism and the use of racial and other types of slurs, such as nigger, fucking jew, god damn faggot, et cetera. They also insist that their real life personalities accurately reflect that of their online ones. myg0t does not share the same motives or goals as TKC however, such as prolonging the game experience and to legitimize unorthodox methods of play. According to their site, myg0ts sole purpose is to piss you off and have fun doing it, end of story. TKCers follow in this regard at times, but rarely with the same frequency and extreme degree that myg0t does. So to

recap, TKC and myg0t employ similar means of enjoyment through online gaming, however our focus, motives, and personalities differ significantly.

TKCs Stance On Server Crashing We want to be very clear on this issue. TKC has never publicly made available any program or hack that made it possible to crash a game server. Programmers within TKC did develop such a program for Vietcong at one point, however as previously noted it was never made available for download to the general public. Only a handful of individuals had access to it, and those that did rarely ever used it. The only servers that were attacked were those run by clans who had previously attempted to sabotage TKC in one way or another. Server crashing is one act that TKC agrees can destroy a game. Only in extreme cases, such as when others jeopardize the welfare of our community do we consider using this drastic measure as an act of defense. No type of server crashing software will ever be made publicly available on TKC.

Why Not Keep The Cheats Secret? Players from both sides of the cheating issue argue this idea. Players against cheating, who realize that attempts to talk us out of creating and using cheats are futile, suggest keeping our hacks secret so their damage on the game is limited. Interestingly, several cheaters also support this view, but for different reasons. They believe that only privileged members of the cheating community should be blessed with the more powerful and noteworthy hacks. Their argument is that giving every n00b access to cheats ruins it for those who are more deserving to posses it. Also they point out that the more people given access to the cheat, the quicker developers will obtain a copy of it and render it useless via patch. As we have stated before, we strongly do not believe that cheats ruin or damage a game in anyway. Instead they add new dynamics to online games and therefore make the better than it was originally. To the cheaters that consider themselves more deserving we remind you again what our communitys primary goal is. To prolong the gaming experience for all players and to give legitimacy to our gaming style. And this is how TKC is fundamentally different from other cheating clans. It is not our goal to be raised onto a pedestal of hacking brilliance (although this is an occasional side effect of our efforts). As it is to make those cheats available to the masses, and to teach those same individuals how to prolong the game experience themselves.

Summary

Well there you have it. Now you know exactly why TKC members do what they do. We hope that you are now encouraged to experience heckling first hand if you havent already. If after satisfying your curiosity you honestly hold no interest in expanding your horizons, we hold no grudge. TKC realizes that heckling is not for everyone, and we prefer those who join us to be dedicated to the same ends as ourselves. In either case, this document should have answered all your questions and removed any misconceptions you had about us. So much wasted time and effort has been made in order to make clear our intentions and ideals, which mostly fell on deaf ears who refused to hear it. Most groups with a common interest dont normally expect to have to justify or explain themselves, especially on such trivial manners. As unnecessary has this FAQ may seem, it has helped shape TKC by giving it a clearer focus and direction for the future. Equally important, is that we now can point curious individuals to this document for clarification to their inquiries, instead of repeating ourselves over and over again on our forums. If you feel we have missed anything, or that you have a question or an intelligent rebuttal not addressed in this FAQ, let us know and well consider adding it. Again, thanks for taking the time to learn more about TKC and the heckling gameplay style.
