Dear Members and Friends of the St. Peters Family:

Needs at LICS

The weeks of Lent are quickly passing by and were celebrating (or at least hoping) that the cold, dreary days of this brutal winter are past. After the freezing cold winds, the snow and sleet and ice, the many overcast gray days of winter, the trees are finally budding green, spring blossoms are bursting forth, and all sorts of plants are emerging from their winter sleep all fresh and green with new life. Thats why Spring is my most favorite time of the year. It is such a beautiful, joyful, hopefilled time as new life bursts forth in nature all around us. Spring is also the time when we in the Church celebrate new life bursting forth as well. In just a few short weeks we will joyfully and triumphantly celebrate again the resurrection of our Lord Jesus on Easter morning. And not only will we celebrate Jesus resurrection, but we will also celebrate the sure and certain hope of our own resurrection from the dead to a new eternal, more abundant life than we have ever known when our lives here on earth are done. Easter is a celebration of new lifeof eternal life. Every Christian should be in church on Easter morning to rejoice, give thanks, and celebrate what God has done for us in Jesus victory over sin, the devil, and death. But come to think of it, as the Church teaches, every Sunday is a celebration of Easter. Every Christian should want to be in church every Sunday to rejoice, to give thanks, and to celebrate what God has done for us in Christ Jesus. Why wouldnt we want to come every Sunday to praise God and offer our thanks for his gifts of forgiveness, grace, and love? In joyful partnership with you in Christs service,

LICS has a need for under-clothing and socks for all ages. This is the time of year that warm clothing gets gone quickly. If you can help you may take your donations to LICS or leave them in the Fellowship Hall kitchen and we will be glad to take them for you! Our church works at LICS the first Thursday of every month and if you would like to help , please call Betty Lou Fulmer at 359-3656. We always can use more hands. Be a blessing!
