Vehicle Anti-Collision System Using Ultrasonic Sensors Aim

This project is used to avoid collision between vehicles moving front and thereby an accident.

Introduction
Nowadays accidents become a common happening in roads due to carelessness or due to over speeding. Also Road Accidents account a severe threat to the lives in both ways physical as well as financial, even after digital control of the vehicle. However, due to human avoidance, circumstantial error and negligence accidents occur. Many people lost their life every year in vehicle collision majorly due to drivers inability to !eenly observe the vehicles vicinity while driving and in traffic condition. The main objective of our project is to develop a anti"collision system for vehicle which can be used for real time application. #lectromagnetic anti"collision device is used here in order to avoid $ehicular Head to Head%&ac! collision that estimates the distance between the two vehicles running e'treme traffic condition. (t incorporates distance finding between two vehicles using ultrasonic range finder.

Literature review
)ome research was carried out on the anti"collision device using ad hoc wireless networ!, $*$ communication, +,) and Radar implementation but all these efforts were informatory in nature which gives signal to the driver or producing some bu--er%sound only but finally the action will be ta!en by the driver in which there are chances of the collision. Also wor! is done on the anti collision system using a laser beam and then using an ultrasonic sensor which gives a better accuracy. The system was intended to find a way to implement a minimum spacing for cars in traffic in an affordable way. (t was designed with a aim to achieve safety for the passengers of a moving car. The device was made up of a laser system and an even more better approach using ultrasonic sensor as laser beam is highly directive and lower pro'imity range. The system was also incorporated with an audio visual alarm to wor! in with the receiver which effectively alerted the driver and%or the passengers.

Technology and Concept


The main features of the project are. ultrasonic sound sensor and power control circuitry. /ltrasonic sensors, estimates the distance between the two vehicles running in e'treme traffic condition. (t incorporates distance finding between two vehicles using range finder. This system monitors the distance between our car and any other vehicle or obstacles in the front. (f our car crosses a particular limit the power will be cut out. The microcontroller used here always monitor the sensor values ,if the value comes within a particular

limit the car will be stopped and indicator will be on, if it is near the stop limit it will alert the driver and bu--er will be on and (f the bloc! is gone then, car will move normally. 0or controlling car movement we are using relay circuitry. A 12'* 345 is implemented to display the modes and distance. The second concept could be A microcontroller receives echo signals from ultrasonic range finding sensor. This information is used to e'cite solenoids to create electromagnetic field. /ltrasonic sensors continuously read the distance between two vehicles and output is displayed on the dashboard of the vehicle. (f the distance reduces to certain level, e'citation circuit starts wor!ing to create electromagnetic field. Thus it can be used as an electromagnet to stop the vehicle.

Future aspects
(n future this project can be motivated from the local traffic condition of hilly areas ,specially where slow moving traffic on hilly roads often leads to minor or major accidents. 6n ascending% descending a hilly road in traffic sometimes causes accidents while overta!ing, sudden bra!ing on turns, and loss of control while ascending on uphill roads. 7e can develop a device which will not only provide driver a safe warning but also automatically actuates the safety switches on stipulated time before unusual situation.
