The great majority of ROOTS consist of three consonants (radicals). A given ROOT generally has associated with it a basic meaning which is relatable to all words derived from it. A word with a particular meaning is formed by inserting or adding to the ROOT supplementary vowels or consonants according to a particular pattern. With this in mind, the study and mastery of Arabic vocabulary becomes relatively easy.
