A. Rationale The rationale for the Mass Media committee is that a separate committee that shall oversee and focus on the promotions and information dissemination of the activities and events of the council and other organizations that involves the welfare of the student-body. B. Vision Mission We envision AIT to be more aware of the activities, projects of the AIT Student Council and the University Student Council and also increase awareness of current issues, stands and events that involve the students, college, the university and the country. To achieve this vision, our mission is to be a harbinger of a more informed, a more active, more issue competent, more inter-active and a more solid student-body through various events, projects and services that would cater to the welfare and betterment not only by the student-body but also as a college and a university as a whole.

C. Structure The committee will be headed by the Mass Media Councilor. The main jobs are (1) oversee and promote information dissemination through creation of publication materials, text brigades and other information material, which is to be approved by the council and (2) ensure an efficient and effective information dissemination. Under the Mass Medial Councilor are the (1) Secretariat, where in she will submit the minutes of the meeting, forms, paper works and other documents under her committee which is to be posted on the bulletin board, uploaded or linked online for public viewing, (2) Finance councilor & Ways and Means, they will submit a monthly and yearly financial report which is to be posted on the bulletin board, uploaded or linked online for public viewing, (3) EDRes Councilor, she will submit issues, stands and other current issues which is to be posted on the bulletin board, uploaded or linked online for public viewing. Under the councilors will be the batch reps, with the help of the whole council, who will facilitate the information dissemination among students through Facebook, Twitter, E-mail, text brigades and other media.

D. Committee Function The Mass Media Committee has several functions as part of the AIT Student Council. For the definition of this committees function, I have consulted both the AIT Student Council Constitution and the outgoing Mass Media Councilor, Ghie Ghie Calderon. According to article 5, section 4 of the AITSC Constitution, the Mass Media Committee shall, (1) focus on the promotions of the Student Council or any projects deemed necessary for the purpose and establish affiliations of the Student Council among other organizations, and (2) establish and maintain mechanisms to promote the different events and activities of the student council.
The Mass Media Councilor Ghie Ghie Calderon stated that the job of Mass Media committee are the following, (1) create publication materials of projects, events, stands, announcements, etc. for the AITSC, and (2) to manage AITSCs social media sites, post announcements, pub mats and keep an inter-active environment between the AITSC and the students.

E. Specific Plans Of Action As the Mass Media Committee head, Ive set up my own specific plans of action to supplement out vision and mission. To start it all off, with the existence of the different social media sites (e.g. Twitter, Facebook) of the current AITSC, we will maximize the use of these media and also tapping the other forms of media and be more active in reaching out to the students not only for announcements and information dissemination but also educate them with the current issues and stands of the student council and create a more solid and personal bond with the students. With the use of these media, the students voices will be heard as well, as we will post, send -out polls, and also, they can send us their concerns. With this, the students will see the the AITSC is reachable rather than just a clique. When it comes to the publicity materials, we will create a specific template for a more uniform, organized, unique and easy to read pub mats. Not only we will put pub mats for projects and events, we will also make pub mats for official AIT announcements, stands, and also educational material to students to be more aware of the current issues and events. Other that that, the pub mats will also serve as a recognition to outstanding student-achievers of the college (e.g. varsity, alumni, etc.) Another project for a more efficient and effective information dissemination, especially for text brigades, is a more strict and

comprehensive Student Information System (SIS) data gathering to ensure correct data gathered from them. Lastly, one of my dream projects for the AITSC is to have its own website. In this website, we can find the official announcements, posts and also links to the different sites of the orgs, admin, UP website, and also to the file hub of the secretariat, alumnis blog, etc, an d other useful links and content for the students. This will serve as a student hub, which is a onestop-shop of the information needed by students. But as part of the council, beyond my work as Mass Media councilor, I am also entitled to work on any task given by the council, like heading events, assisting and/or representing the council, etc.
