THE POINTS AND THEIR INDIVIDUAL FUNCTIONS

A Cun is a Chinese Measurement used in traditional medicine. It will vary from person to person but is generally about the length from your first knuckle on your index finger to the second knuckle -- about an inch. A Fen is about a tenth of an inch. All im-Mak points are found in hollows !ust below a lump or a bump caused by a muscle or bone.

Bladder Points ( Diagram

"he bladder meridian runs from toe to head and has #$ points. %ladder &' and &( are on both sides of the spine) five vertebra down from the base of the neck. %* +, is located &.( Cun lateral to the spine on either side of the second lumber vertebra and is a - kidney shu. point / i.e. it is directly over the kidneys 0. It is usually attacked with the feet) or sometimes the palms) with a strike that moves in on a straight plane. %* +' is located &.( Cun lateral to the third lumbar vertebra and is also dangerous because of its proximity to the kidneys.

T"e Colon Points ( Diagram # !

Colon & / Co & 0 is located at the tip of the index finger on the dorso lateral side / closest to the thumb 0) & Fen superior and lateral to the base of the nail. It is usually used as an antidote. Co ' is located on the dorsum of the hand in the middle of the second metacarpal) on the lateral side / thumb side 0 between the thumb and forefinger in that -1. about & Cun back. It is usually used as an antidote. Co &2 is located on the outside of the forearm. If you run a straight line from the ring finger to the elbow) Co &2 is found on that line about & Cun back from the elbow crease. Co &+ is located in the depression !ust above the elbow crease on the outside of the upper arm) superior to the lateral epicondyle of the humerus. It is a dangerous point and is usually struck with the back of the palm in a downward way.

T"e Con$e%tor Vessel Points ( Diagram & and ' !

Conceptor 1essel ' / Cv ' 0 is located , Cun below the navel on the midline. "his is where most people say the -"an-tien. is situated) but actually) although it is directly under this point) the - "an-tien. is on an extra meridian called -3ung mei. or life force meridian. "he "an-tien is actually 3m +. %ut for the sake of experience) we usually say that Cv ' is the "an-tien point. "his is a very dangerous point) usually kicked up or down to cause death. Cv &' is located !ust over the xiphoid process and $ Cun superior to the navel on the midline. "his is an instant death point) as it causes the heart to stop. %all players have

&

been known to take a ball to the chest right on this point and die on the spot. It is usually struck in or upward against the flow of 4i. "his point is -forbidden. even in acupuncture because it is so dangerous. Cv &$ is located between the nipples on the midline and is an energy drainage point. 5triking this point with flow i.e.) down) will cause a person to feel as if he has taken the proverbial kick in the guts) as it affects the seat of power) or diaphragm. Cv ++ is located in the pit of the neck and is very dangerous) as most people know. Cv +, is located under the chin where the neck meets the chin. Cv +' is !ust in the hollow where the chin and bottom lip meet.

T"e (all Bladder Points ( Diagrams )*+ and , !

I will cover this meridian in more detail than the others. "he gall bladder points run from head to toe and any one of them will cause 67 as a result of the carotid sinus shutting down the heart. "he three main organs involved are the intestines) gall bladder and the urethra. "hese points can be struck in up to five different directions and are easily accessible. 8all %ladder & / 8b & 0 is located at the corner of the eye and is a very dangerous 4i drainage point when struck from the rear to front. 8b , is located at the temple and is also very dangerous. It can be struck in a number of ways cause different things to happen. 8b &' is in the middle of the eyebrow and up about & Cun. "his point can be struck in a number of ways to cause either drainage or addition of 4i. It too is a 67 point. 8b +2 is located on either side of the back of the skull in the hollow where the skull meets the neck. "his is the classic revival point. 9e use this point first of all when someone has been knocked) usually pushing upward) and it works most of the time. In fact) if this does not work) then we resort to C:;. 8b +& is that sore spot on either side of the top of the shoulders. 9e usually press downward here then branch out to the sides as an antidote for being struck at 8b &' in an upward way. 8b ++ is located under the arm) , Cun below the anterior axillary fold in the fourth intercostal space) and is easily accessible with the elbow after the arm has been lifted. 8b +' is located directly below *iver &' in a line with the nipple on the seventh intercostal space and is an extremely dangerous point. 8b +< is located !ust above the appendix) approximately) and as it is also over the urethra) it is a very dangerous point when struck straight in) which can cause an even worse 67 and death. 8b ,& is located where the longest finger points to when the arm is !ust allowed to hang by one=s side on the thigh. 8b ,+) + Cun below that) is usually used with kicks and is a 67 point. "his is the classic -dead leg - point) where someone -for fun. shoves his knee into the side of your leg. 8b '& and '+ are located on the side of the foot. 8b '& is in the depression anterior to the !unction of the fourth and fifth metatarsals) and 8b '+ is ( Fen anterior to 8b '&) in the cleft between the fourth and fifth metatarsals. "hese points are easily stomped on to cause 67.

T"e (o-ernor Vessel Points ( Diagram . !

+

8overnor vessel +& /8v +&0 is located on the top of the head in the middle - a very dangerous point if you can get to it. 8v +# is located under the nose and is very dangerous. A light tap here will cause even the largest man to release his hold> harder and it=s lights out.

T"e Heart Points ( Diagram / !

?eart & / ?& 0 is located directly under the arm in the middle of the axilla and is usually struck in and up into the armpit with the radius of either arm. It is a very dangerous point@ ? , is located in the crease of the elbow and back a tad towards the upper arm on the inside) between the medial end of the transverse cubital crease and the medial epicondyle of the humerus) in a depression. Again this point is very dangerous when struck away from the body. It is also used as both a drainage point and an antidote point. ?( and ? # are located on the inside of the wrist on the small finger side. ? ( is & Cun above the wrist crease) toward the elbow) while ? # is ( Fen /five tenths) or half) of an inch0 above ?$) or the wrist crease. "hese are used as antidote points and also as set up points for -negative strikes. as when the wrist is !erked violently away from the body. "hey are drainage points /i.e. they drain 4i from the body) causing weakness0 and are usually struck away from the body /i.e.) toward the person doing the attack0. ? $ is located on the wrist crease on the inside of the arm on the small finger side) where there is a small depression. "his point) also known as -shen-men. or doorway to the spirit) is usually used in dim-mak healing and is a classic calming point. ? A is on the tip of the small finger to the inside of this finger where the fingernail !oins. "his) too) is used in dim-mak healing as an antidote when there is heart failure as a result of ?, being struck.

T"e 0idne1 Points ( Diagram 2 !

"he only point on the sole of the foot) 6idney & /6&0 is used as the classic revival point. It is located in the depression between the second and third metatarso-phalangeal !oint /between the mounts of the big toe and second toe0. 6 + is located on the outside of the foot about & Cun up from the ground and about halfway between the heel and the toes) in a depression on the anteriorBmedial edge of the foot at the distal and inferior border of the navicular eminence. It is usually used in dimmak healing. 6 ( is located on the Achilles tendon !ust above the superior border of the calcaneus) and) in short) s4ueeCe it and it hurts. It is usually used in the healing dim-mak and as an antidote) but it can be the target of direct) straight in dim-mak strike. 6 &2 is located pretty well in the middle of the back of the knee. It hurts when pressed. 9e direct kicks to this point in dim-mak) and it is also used in the healing art.

T"e Li-er Points ( Diagram

9ith the knee flexed) *iver < /*iv <0 is at the medial end of the popiteal crease in the depression in front of the tendons of the semimembranosus and semitendinosus and behind the medial condyle of the tibia /in other words) on the right knee it=s to the left of the knee crease in back and vice versa0. *iv &, is located at the smallest indentation of the waist) !ust a little toward the front at the tip of the free end of the eleventh rib. %agwaChang makes great use of this point) usually striking straight inward causing great internal organ damage) as well as psychological damage. It is a very dangerous point) especially if used with 8b +'. *iv &' is !ust under the nipple where the pectorals make a crease. "his is also a very dangerous point when either struck straight in or in a slicing motion /for instance) if you are striking to the right side of the body) striking across the point laterally from right to left0) outside to inside. It is usually used with other points) such as 8b +' or *iv &,. Dou can cause 67 by striking this point with only one palm from no distance.

T"e L3ng Points ( Diagram # !

*ung , /*u ,0 is located on the lateral side of the biceps brachii muscle) , Cun below the anterior axillary fold /a little over halfway up the arm on the outside of the biceps0. It is used as an antidote to being struck at *iv &' if emotional disturbances /which can show up weeks later in the form of uncontrollable crying) for instance0 are being felt as a result. *u # is located on the radius side of the forearm on the inside) $ Cun above the wrist flexure on the brachioradialis muscle / a tad over halfway up the forearm0. "his point is used as an antidote point to reverse the effects of a strike to any of the lung points. 9e use finger pressure and massage the point back up the arm) toward the person) to revive him. It is also used in con!unction with ? ( to stop bleeding. *u < and A can be used as -set up points.. "hey are easy to get at and are usually used during small chi-na grabs to the wrist) thus activating the 4i to this area and leaving the more dangerous points such as 5tomach A or 8all %ladder &' more vulnerable to a follow up strike. *u < is located on the inside of the wrist) on the thumb side about & Cun back above the radial artery. A straight strike to this point) as in a block) will affect the lungs. If this point is !erked) not pulled) toward you) the body will lose energy fast) hindering a follow up. It is a classic set up point. *u A is located !ust below *u < and on the wrist flexure between the radius and the scaphoid. "his is also a classic set up point and is used in the same way as *u < is. It is -the meeting point of the pulses. and is 4uite important in dim-mak. It will cause the respiration to become unbalanced and is a 4i drainage point for the lungs. If struck) as in a striking block) it is a classic point for causing the brain to think the whole body has been struck. It is usually struck in a downward way) away from the body on the inside of the arm.

T"e Peri$ardi3m Points ( Diagram & !

*ocated on the inside of the forearm) :c # /neigwan0 is a classic set up point. About one hand=s width back from the wrist crease in the middle of the forearm) this is a very active point and is easy to get at because when people throw punches) we -strike block. this

'

point in either direction to either drain or increase the 4i flow. It is also used in wrist locks to weaken the body. :c < is located on the palm) and if you make a fist) it is where the longest finger points to. "his is the point where 4i is said to emanate from when either using healing or dim-mak.

T"e Small Intestine Points ( Diagram '!

5mall Intestine & /5i &0 is located on the medial angle of the small fingernail /outside of the finger0) & Fen medial and posterior to the fingernail base. It is usually used as an antidote and in the healing dim-mak. 5i && is located slap-bang in the middle of the scapula and becomes very sore when pressed. It is used to -take out. the arm or cause extreme lower heater damage /i.e.) to the part of the body from the navel down mainly the lower stomach) including the colon and intestines0. 5i &# is located at the centre of the base of the neck) at the posterior border of the sternocleidomastoideus. "his point is very dangerous and is usually attacked with a straight in strike. 5i &$ is located at the angle of the !aw or slightly posterior to it. "he carotid artery can be felt here. 5i &$ is almost always attacked with a strike that moves from the back of the head forward) which) again) is very dangerous.

T"e S%leen Points ( Diagram ) !

5pleen &$ /5p &$0 is located # Cun lateral to the midline in the fifth intercostal space) lateral to the nipple and down a tad) !ust past where the pectoral !oins the chest. "his point is usually struck laterally across the body with the elbow and makes one feel very sick@ 5p &A is located # Cun lateral to the midline of the third intercostal space. 9hen struck straight in) 5p &A also causes strange things to happen to the legs /as with 5p +20. 5p +2 is located # Cun lateral to the midline in the second intercostal space) about & Cun above 5p &A. It is used to weaken the legs. 5p +& is located under each arm on the mid- axillary line in the sixth intercostal space. %oth 5p +2 and +& are also used as antidotes.

T"e Stoma$" Points ( Diagrams + and , !

5tomach , /5t ,0 is located down from the centre of each eye in the depression !ust under the cheekbone. It is struck with the fingers at an upward angle. "he 5t && points are located !ust above the collar bone notch where it is closest to the neck. 5t &( is located on the pectoral muscles in the second intercostal space) ' Cun lateral to Cv &A. It is used to stop the heart. 5t &# is !ust under 5t &( and a little toward the midline on the third intercostal space) ' Cun lateral to the Cv &< point. It is also a heart stopper.

T"e Tri%le 4armer Points ( Diagrams . and / !

"riple 9armer < /"w <0 is between the radius and the ulna on the outside of the forearm) ' Cun above the dorsal wrist flexure) or about eight fingers= width back from the wrist crease. "w A is located on the outside of the forearm) about in the middle of the arm !ust under the large muscle in the depression) $ Cun above the dorsal wrist flexure between the radius and ulna. It is usually struck straight in. "w &+ is located in the -horseshoe. formed by the triceps muscle on the outer side of the upper arm. A person can take someone down easily by applying pressure to it. It is usually used in con!unction with :c #. "w &$ is located behind the ear !ust below that little hollow. It is an extreme death point with no known antidote) not even C:;. 5trike to this point from front to rear. "w &$ is also used as a controlling point to bring someone who is perhaps under the influence of alcohol under control. 3ust one finger is all it takes to completely control a person=s body using this point. "ake one point a day and find out where it is on your self and then try attain an accuracy with it in your training before moving onto the next one. Aim to know the position s subconsciously so that if you are in a certain position) fighting with someone) you hand or head or elbow or foot will be in a position to hit something and will hit something.
