Justification: A new version to the famous nursery rhyme, Rain Rain Go Away is a fast-paced, upbeat song that children will surely fell in love with. This song is an action song, with fun and easy to follow actions. Students will be very much interested and it intrigues students kinesthetic intelligence. The short phrases are repeated throughout the song, making it easy to remember. On the other hand, the song talks about the weather and teachers can exploit the song by introducing different types of weathers to students. Furthermore, the song can also be easily exploited into different activities, such as asking students to draw a situation when it is raining, or asking students to perform the song or a verse of it with actions to the class. This song will be suitable for students of Year 1 to Year 4, because the lyrics are of short repetitive sentences, and it can help students to understand it better. This song can be used to help students in appreciating the nature more. It can help in making students more aware with the ever-changing nature of the world, and can be related to teach them to take care of the world better.

Justification: This is another fun, fast-paced songs for students to enjoy. With easy-to-follow movements, students get to move around and act out to the lyrics of the song. This song includes lots of verbs, so teachers get to strengthen students memories on verbs, this time with a easy-to-remember song and fun actions. Students will be very interested and excited once they listened to the beat and rhythm of the song. This song will be suitable for young learners of Years 1 to 4. This song can be exploited into different activities, one is to take the students out for a walk around the school and listing down what they can see and hear during the walk. It can also improve their cooperative work by asking students to work in groups and to compare the things they see and hear during the walk. Furthermore, this song will elicit a lot of nouns and adjectives when teacher asks what can the students see and hear. Thus, this will help improve their language learning potential as they throw out words and wanting to know how to pronounce those words in English. On the other hand, this song can also be used to emphasise the value of appreciating the nature that exists all around us in so many different forms.

Yesterday I skipped all day, The day before I ran, Today I'm going to tiptoe Everywhere I can. I'll tiptoe down the stairway. I'll tiptoe to through the door. I'll tiptoe to the living room And give a awful roar And my father, who is reading, Will jump up from his chair And mumble something silly like "I didn't see you there." I'll tiptoe to my mother And give a little cough And when she spins to see me Why, I'll softly tiptoe off. I'll tiptoe through the meadows, Over hills and yellow sands And when my toes get tired Then I'll tiptoe on my hands.

Justification: This poem talks about an activity that most kids would love to do - tip-toeing. Students will be very interested and they will look forward to know what happened next as the narration in the poem goes along. Even though there are 20 lines, and it might look too long for students, actually students will enjoy this very much because of the story inside the lines. On the other hand, there are a lot of adjectives and verbs inside the poem, so this poem will be a good text to revise and to do some exercise for students to subconsciously test their memory and knowledge of certain adjectives and verbs. Rhymes will also play a big part for students to appreciate and enjoy this poem more. It will be very interesting if students are to dramatize this poem, to cater the kinesthetic and creative intelligences of students, not to mention a good activity to practice cooperation between the students. This poem can help in students intra personal development where teachers can relate the value of not to joke or play around at inappropriate times, and to know your limit while joking around. However it is good if teachers can remind students that it is good to laugh often as it can also help in improving relationship with others, too.

Poem: A Worm In My Pocket by Jodee Samano

One rainy day on my way home from school, I found a big worm and thought it was cool. I picked up the worm with my bare hand, held it up high thinking how grand! The worm was so cute and wiggled a lot, I put him in my pocket to show Mom what I'd caught. What will she say when I show her my find? Will she let me keep it? I hope she won't mind. Mom was in the kitchen when I showed her what I'd found. She screamed, "No, way! Put it back in the ground!" Now I'm so angry, she always says "No", If she won't let me keep it, then I will just go! So me and my worm packed a sandwich or two, ran out the door and down the street we both flew. We walked to the park and sat on a bench, I pulled out my worm and noticed a stench. He looked kind of floppy, but wiggled a bit, I thought, "Oh my Gosh, my worm is not fit!" I laid him in the dirt and let him go free. I guess that my pocket was not the best place to be.

Justification: This narrative poem is funny and the story of the poem will make students to wonder more about what will happen next. Teacher can exploit this text to touch on animals as pets or animals in general. Students will like this poem a lot because of the humour and the short rhyming phrases used by the author. This poem will be suitable for students of Year 2 to Year 4. This poem subtly hints on students (humans) relationship with animals. It teaches students to take good care of animals, and to be careful around them. Most animals prefer to be left out free in the wild, and we as humans must respect that. Other than that, this poem also teaches students to appreciate other living things, not only animals, but trees and plants as another respectful being in this world.
